The Rebirth System!

In the city of Primos, power is everything. In a world of humans with magical ‘abilities’, the strong survive and thrive, while the frail are left to suffer. Either you are born with a strong ability and you’re given the world. Or you are born a regular human, and you are given nothing. You have nothing. You are nothing. Brandyn Santiago, a regular-born citizen of Primos, is forced to endure the demoralising life in Primos and unsurprisingly, he isn’t able to keep his life through the brutal torture from the demonic beasts of the higher social classes. However, he is given another chance. He is reborn with an ability and, now, he has the chance to finally enact his revenge on those who caused him so much torment and anguish!

Brandyn's body was cloaked in this aura of lightning and he felt far more powerful than before. For a few seconds, his new stats were opened up right beside him.

"Woah! I feel like I'm Superman in the core of a star! So much energy!!" His thoughts seemed to have increased in pace too and this feeling was fascinating for him.

Bruiser, who was going to deliver the finishing strike to Flavian, looked back to see Brandyn with this new aura but he wasn't concerned about that.

He firmly believed that he was superior to him and, so, he dashed towards Brandyn to engage in battle with him once again.

Initiating the conflict, he pulled his axe down to propel it upwards at high velocity. However, it looked as if Brandyn could see the axe clearly and it was just slowly coming towards him. All he had to do was slip past the axe to be completely untouched and as he was in a crouched, boxing-like position, he was able to lash out.

He threw 3 attacks with lightning quick pace, two to the face then one to the body. With the second punch, he was able to break his nose and the third punch rattled his liver.

While Bruiser was slowly stepping back, he snapped out his clenched fist in an attempt to land an attack on Brandyn in retaliation. His swing was a swing of not technique but desperation. It didn't take much effort for Brandyn to just pull his upper body back slightly to evade the punch.

In the time that it took for Bruiser to pull back his fist, Brandyn lashed out with a punch to the chest. In succession, he pulled his body the other way to slam his fist right into Bruiser's rib.

These attacks felt so much more powerful than before and this infuriated Bruiser. He couldn't allow himself to lose.

The image of his punishment from Hercules made him feel a weird tingling in his spine. Failure was unacceptable. He could not allow some weak child to overpower him. Out of fury, he dashed towards Brandyn at full speed. Tightening his fist until some of his bones popped, he cocked his fist all the way back until it was in line was with his body.

*BANG*

Bruiser let the fist fly and it was going straight for Brandyn. However, he spun his body out of the way and the fist flew right past his eyes. The fist crashed through the locker and even with it being metal, his fist was able to slam right through it to leave a hole in the locker.

"I was able to dodge an attack that strong? Am I strong enough to do that?!" Brandyn asked, taken aback by his level of power.

What was noticeable was that Bruiser's breathing was heavy and intense. His stamina was fading and it was fading fast. His face was now that of tiredness and exhaustion, while his skin was covered in sweat.

"He can't use that form for long! He's running out of gas." Brandyn concluded from the signs that he was given.

"GRAAAHH!" Bruiser roared like a beast, chucking his fist forward sluggishly.

All Brandyn had to do was step to his left and as he did this, he sensed a presence coming towards him fast due to the loud stomping noises coming from behind him.

Flavian, with some new motivation, ran towards Bruiser with a scream. His eyes glowed orange and he was faster than he was before. Flavian threw forward his fist with the addition of his momentum to slam it into his opponent's face.

The loud sound of two different bones clashing vibrated through the hall and Bruiser just fell back like a toppled statue.

*THUMP*

His large body returned to its ordinary size and small streaks of steam were emitted from his body.

The job was done.

They had won once again.

"So that's basically what that form gave me now. Well, I can't use that form again, I know for a fact. Also, now that I think about it, I was already starting to tire out and I don't think I can use that again. 7MP is good too." He rambled on in his mind.

"Woah. What are we supposed to do now? The gang is coming for both of us for sure." Flavian claimed, looking at the unconscious man in front of him.

"I don't know. Is it really that serious?" Brandyn asked, struggling to comprehend the severity of the situation.

He felt a bit conflicted since he was confused about why a gang would use this much force to try and kill him. I mean, Bruiser could've murdered Harry Delgado just because he refused to take orders.

"I guess it's the extreme violence that gangs use to establish themselves. They might be seen as soft if they don't use this level of force." Flavian proposed.

*ring*

In Brandyn's pocket, his burner phone went off. After leaving it for a few days, he just kept it on him because it felt more natural for him to do so. Also, he felt a lot saner knowing that a main point of evidence against him was in his security.

His phone went off and this hadn't been the case for the past week.

Brandyn expected some threat from Carbine or another member of his gang but he was actually surprised by the text he received.

"You and Flavian have to go. I will delete all chats I have had with you and delete your number from the network. This is the last thing that I can say to you and the only advice I can give to you is to run and to run far, far away and you have to go now."

Once he saw this text, it had been wiped then his phone just spontaneously powered off. He struggled to try and turn on the phone but it was not coming on at all.

"We have to leave."

"What? I can't just leave my parents here!"

"No he said that we have to go now. This guy was probably one of the weaker guys too. We are stronger now but someone like Luuk could still put both of us to bed if he wished." Brandyn stated, making Flavian change his mind.

"Text them. Tell them everything is okay and that you will be fine because you probably will be fine. We'll be fine." Brandyn insisted in a reassuring tone.

Brandyn knew that the odds were against them, but he was not ready to die.

He had conviction to receive the reparations that caused him so much pain and suffering. That caused them so much pain and suffering.
