The Rebirth System!

In the city of Primos, power is everything. In a world of humans with magical ‘abilities’, the strong survive and thrive, while the frail are left to suffer. Either you are born with a strong ability and you’re given the world. Or you are born a regular human, and you are given nothing. You have nothing. You are nothing. Brandyn Santiago, a regular-born citizen of Primos, is forced to endure the demoralising life in Primos and unsurprisingly, he isn’t able to keep his life through the brutal torture from the demonic beasts of the higher social classes. However, he is given another chance. He is reborn with an ability and, now, he has the chance to finally enact his revenge on those who caused him so much torment and anguish!

Mission Failed

"What is he doing?"

"Why even say anything?"

Many contemptuous remarks bounced around the collection of students but Brandyn stayed confident. His facial expression stayed completely neutral and his gaze was strong.

"Fine. After this, I'll do another spar since this will be too quick." Mr Gudbrand said mockingly, standing forwards to face Brandyn.

"Let's begin shall we?" Mr Gudbrand stated, with a smile as he faced his opponent.

*ZOOM*

Mr Gudbrand, unlike Leopold, began on the offensive and immediately went into the first attack.

"Woah!" Brandyn thought, as he saw his fist already darted at his face.

*BAM*

Mr Gudbrand didn't stop there, and he let off two more punches to the body that made Brandyn's stomach feel like it was about to explode.

Brandyn, cowering away as he saw this imposing threat, began burping and wheezing in agony. His knees gave in to just his weight and the feeling of nausea was almost overwhelming.

"Know your place, Santiago." The teacher said in an arrogant tone, with an uncontrollable smile that grew across his face.

As he was about to surrender and admit the defeat, this statement rang in his head.

"Know your place."

Through his hair, no one could see his facial expression but his rage was bubbling and intensifying.

Mr Gudbrand stood above him for a brief period but Brandyn didn't show any sign of response for seconds on end. It was starting to confuse the weapon specialist so he dipped down slightly to try and see the young boy's face.

What he saw was not a boy. What he saw was not a human.

What he saw was a demon, itching for violence.

Brandyn let off a low snarl and showed off his sharp fangs in the process.

*WHOOSH*

Brandyn, now upright and standing, swung his claws towards his teacher with ferocity.

*slash*

Due to the spontaneity of his swing, he actually managed to slash his teacher. However, Brandyn was not done there. His lust for blood and flesh had not been satisfied and he ran in again, with even more attacks.

"DIE!!" Brandyn exclaimed, with a beast-like tone in his voice.

As his fist tightened, he activated his new skill as he simply wanted to inflict the most damage that he possibly could. Once the skill activated, the speed of his punch increased slightly but not considerably.

Due to the slash across the face, his teacher had closed his eyes and in this brief moment, Brandyn was able to connect with the following punch.

A look of shock was on Mr Gudbrand's face and the attack didn't seem to hurt him all that much. All he did was wipe the blood from the shallow graze across his cheek while locking eyes with the careless student.

"Oh no! What did I do?! I lost control again!" Brandyn realised, feeling his racing heartbeat and unstable emotions.

"How dare you!!" His teacher roared, making his clothes rustle as a purplish energy enveloped his body.

His eyes glowed this same, terrifying colour and his muscles seemed to fill out his suit a lot more now.

The crowd were more than entertained to see their teacher prepare to fight a person like Brandyn. All of their egos were about to multiply in size as they watched the former regular-born get a beatdown.

*WHOOSH*

The teacher blasted off his two feet and made barely any sound with each stride. Before Brandyn knew it, his teacher had arrived behind him like a maniacal assassin.

*BAM*

The teacher threw a technical jab that launched Brandyn into the crowd. No one even caught him and he just laid on the floor with a massive bruise across his cheek. His vision wasn't focused at all and all he saw was a swaying blur, even though his head was completely still.

In a few seconds, he started to feel more collected and steady, but the pain in his cheek still felt akin to a festering wound with daggers stabbing into his skull.

"Now we're done with that spar, I will like to show you what you all should focus on first. For the first session, pick a partner before I continue." Mr Gudbrand said as his aura swiftly vanished into thin air.

After a few minutes of commotion and movement, people started to form into pairs. Brandyn, who had basically just stood up, wasn't having the easiest time finding a partner. Looking at the group of students, there weren't many people to even ask, since he knew that they would swiftly decline.

"Hey, Brandyn!"

Brandyn, taken aback by the fact that someone actually approached him to be partners, turned with a face of confusion.

Not to his surprise, the student was 5'8, skinny and notorious for having one of the weakest abilities of the school. His name was Peter Speer, who was a member of an Unranked Dynasty. He had short, blonde hair and hazel eyes and he wore a white tee with kaki trousers. His ability was only the ability of having superhuman dexterity.

He was training to wield even 2 or 3 daggers at one time, since he was able to do so with his level of control with his hands. From childhood, he had a certain affinity for child games but the problem was that he seemingly had ordinary strength. All of that weapon skill was quite futile once he came into contact with superhuman speed and strength.

"Eh.. there won't be anyone else that'll want to pair up with me." Brandyn concluded, agreeing to the pairing.

"Okay. Now, you will receive these markers. I have enough for more than one each but if you use more than one dagger, use more than one marker. If not, just stick to one marker."

The students received their markers and they were very confused as to what was about to happen. They thought that they would be using their daggers and many of the students were underwhelmed to see that they were being handed a simple board marker.
