1 Prologue: The Last Steps

AN: This prologue does not follow the main character of the story.

I was sitting on the top of a building looking down at the ground while rain poured from the grey sky non-stop.

Why me?! After all my hard work to achieve my perverted dreams, it was all taken from me by those bastards... For a whole year after I came of age, I had been gathering a harem of beauties with no intention of stopping. It took a lot of work and I had to learn a lot of things, from more basic things like improving my academics to more unusual ones like horse riding, to more complex like actual martial arts. My schedule was full everyone single day and I somehow managed to get through it and conquered 12 beautiful women like you would see in some random adult harem game, I worked to make every one of them mine, and then it had to happen, everything fell apart when some super-rich fucks netorared me and took all 12 of them from me.

At first, I thought that it was just me and that I was useless for letting it happen... And even though I do have some fault in this, the truth was that I simply didn't know the whole truth and that's why I lost... Apparently in this world, there is a rare breed of people with special abilities related to our ancestors. From what I could find out, a very very long time ago a different species of creatures inhabited earth aside from humans, in the book I read they were referred to as Echoes, the Lords Of Sin. There were 7 tribes of them and as the name alludes, they each represent one of the seven deadly sins. In the long-short story, they eventually lived with humans, and the offspring from that union had special abilities derived from the Echo tribe to which their echo parent belonged.

In time, the human-echo hybrids grew more powerful than the echoes themselves, and as usual in human history, a war began out of fear from both sides. The humans and the hybrids won. As time passed pureblooded echoes went extinct. The humans and the hybrids continued to live until eventually, the echo purity of blood was completely muddled and humans forget about their existence.

For unknown reasons, in this modern day and age, the hidden and long dormant echo genes began awakening in the current day descendants of the hybrids. Those descendants like myself being the individuals with supernatural abilities, but if the records I read were to be trusted, our powers are an extremely weakened version of the original, which makes sense considering how little echo purity we must have. I, just like the bastards that stole my harem from me, am a descendant of the Lust tribe, having the ability to increase pleasure, and sensitivity, and to make ourselves more attractive and desirable the longer we are around our target. Happily, it seems to work according to your desires so a heterosexual won't attract people of the same gender and so on.

That was also the reason I was able to build a harem in the modern world in the first place. Unfortunately, I was not aware of the secret world of the echoes or our relation to them, only being confused when those guys managed to corrupt my harem. That happened because they were of much higher Echo purity than me, making their abilities far stronger... After being lost for a while I discovered that you can increase your purity if you manage to get ahold of fossil remains of Echos or Hybrids and make their essence yours. That's what those filthy bastards who took everything from me did.

I spent years trying to find fossil remains to get myself a power up, but I could never find remains of the lust tribe, no matter how hard I looked. In these years I got the remains of all the tribes except the Lust tribe. Unfortunately, you can't absorb the essence of other tribes, so they were not that useful in my hands, even so, I keep them close in hopes that I could find someone who had a Lust tribe remain and exchange it for one of the ones I have, but it never got anywhere and I have those remains on me to this day.

Failure, that's what I was. After all this time I couldn't improve my powers and it's too late now, no matter how much I tried even if I found the remains, it's too late to get them, they are too far gone... Honestly, they have been too far gone for a very long while now, I just couldn't put myself to accept it... I lost...

So here I am sitting on a rooftop ready to take my last steps. All I have on me are the fossilized bones of each of the 6 tribes, only the Lust tribe missing.

Even now, I remember their moans as they got done in by those bastards... They even forced me to watch... UNFORGIVABLE! But... Ales, there's no way I could ever get back at them, they are all rich and well-guarded people who have other echo descendants working for them. I might as well just end this once and for all.

Before I could take my last steps to my death, a weird light covered everything, and before I knew it, I was in an all-white room.

"Welcome young soul, I imagine you're confused and have many questions, but we do not have too much time together. So to keep it short, your world was reached by the expansion event, a natural phenomenon that affects all of the Omniverse, and now your world will change to have beings known as Monsters roaming around. As such, me and the other celestial beings selected to be in charge of this planet will give every human a choice." A woman with immense beauty appeared from the white and began talking, not giving me the chance to say a thing.

"You may either, stay on your planet and get ready for what is to come on your own way. Go to a harsh world where your skills can be honed but dangers lies in every corner, or Go to a much more forgiving world that while compared to your own might seem harsh, but is relatively safe. Whatever your choice know that it will be final." She explained.

"I just have one question, Will I be able to come back if I go to another world?" I needed to know, after all, it was a massive change especially since I was not planning to live anymore.

"While it is possible, it is unlikely that you'll be able to ever come back. Now, make your choice, you have very little time left!" She answered.

"Hum.... Take me to the safe Otherworld!" Out of panic I just choose what felt more appealing at the moment with not much thought put into it.

"As you wish, I hope you appreciate your life in a new world, cowardly traitor. Your kind is the worst." She looked at me disgusted before I disappeared into particles of light.

The scenery around me completely changed and now around me, there was only darkness... What was going on?

"Hahaha! I hit the jackpot this time. The body of an otherwolder is always a plus... Especially considering its reincarnator... Wait, why do you have remnants of the seven sins in you? One is even mixed with your soul... Hahaha! Truly a JACKPOT! I'm sorry kid, it's nothing personal, but I'll be taking your soul, body, and life. Don't worry though, whatever unsolved business you have, I'll take care of it." Those were the last words I heard before everything came to a halt and I stopped being.
