The Reaper's Desire

[Mature Content: No rape.] "What do you know about love?" She asked, her lips thinning as his grip tightened around her neck. "What do you know about hate, Sunshine?" He countered, his voice low and laden with intensity. "What do you want from me?" She gasped, her eyes flickering with a mix of fear and defiance. "Everything..." His breath was heavy against her skin as he drew closer, his lips finding hers with a softness that belied the intensity of his words. "I want you, your stubborn soul, your closed heart... I want to be by your side.... wreaking havoc on this miserable world just to have you, my desire." ... Death. An entity as old as time itself, feared and revered in equal measure. Sirius. Three chances

It was a cold night. The rain was coming down harder from the dense clouds, hitting the surface of everything that was moving and still on the earth.

Lightning flashed, thunder rumbling like a ferocious counterattack. Still, it was a darker night than usual. Except, oddly, for her chamber, where death chose to dwell.

Silence permeated her chamber. The room was lit by fire torches positioned in the corners, casting a faint reflection on her serene sleeping face.

His scarlet eyes burned through the knots of hair sleeping on his forehead. And as he took a small step in the direction of the bed, his massive frame obscured the light on her face and replaced it with a sharp flash of lightning that lit the room ominously.

Her platinum white hair glistened softly. Her full, heart-shaped lips pressed, and her lashes quivered as she dove deeper into slumber.

Was she having a pleasant dream?

Sirius's eyes flitted. His Sunshine was what one might call a wicked, pure beauty.

She let out a groan, rolling over to face up. The duvet pushed away from her body, revealing her long white nightgown.

Hmm. She was having a pleasant dream.

Was it about him?

Taking a seat at the edge of the bed, he leant in, studying her face.

She was a deep sleeper. And never seemed to notice his presence because she had grown so unconsciously familiar with him.

Maybe it was time for him to show more of himself. It would not hurt. After all, some insects were bound to die soon. Insects who dreamed of claiming her. Insects who were longing to touch and infect her.

His innocent, unsullied Sunshine.

Only he was allowed to infect her. She belonged to him. She has been his, and she always will be.

He raised his large veiny hands to her face, cocking his head to the side as he gently pushed her hair off her face.

"Will you run again this time?" He cooed, his eyes flashing.

She was going to run. Where would she hide, though?

A crazed smile spread across his face, reaching his flickering, glowing blood red eyes.

How far would she go? He wanted to find out. He wanted to see fear in her midnight blue eyes. Fear just for him. He wanted her to feel for him only.

Rage, fear, confusion, hatred...

In her previous life, he had only killed those who believed they could claim her. Of those who desired to spend their lives with her.

Too bad.

All he really did was steal their souls and watch her become scarred as her depression deepened.

To be honest, he wanted to console her. To heal those scars. Even so, he felt compelled to torment her for lamenting the meaningless existence of the insects who had so many fantasies about her.

"Mmmh." Gwyneth groaned, tossing to face him completely.

He took his hand off right away and let it linger over her head.

She smiled brightly in her slumber. But the smile faded as quickly as it came.

Sirius lifted his brow. Intrigued.

She smiled again. This time showing off her pearly whites.

An identical smile automatically plastered across his face.

Her innocent smile made his chest bloom. However, it also increased his level of obsession beyond what it already was.

Even after all that had happened to her, his Sunshine was still smiling. She still had a smile on her face even with death staring down at her with a great deal of maddened admiration.

Her smile vanished yet again.

And he's automatically followed suit.

Putting his hand on her forehead. He frowned. Feeling her stiffen under his touch.

Her lashes fluttered. However, she was not awake. Rather, she could feel a deep chill seeping into her body, accompanied by a foreboding weight.

Sirius smirked. Leaning in close to her, he pressed his long fingers into her smooth hair feeling the warmth of her head. His blood red eyes scrutinized every nuance of her agitated face.

Whatever dreams she was having. It was not about him.

A dream without him could not possibly be happy.

Transforming it into a terrifying nightmare that would cause her to wake up in terror. Sweet glorious terror in those midnight blue eyes. Tears falling freely....

He took his hand away from her head and rose up.

He reached into his coat pocket and took out a neatly folded letter from one pocket and a sun flower from the other.

He placed the letter next to her head, whispering, "Blood will be on your hands once again, my Sunshine."

"Three chances." He gazed at the flower, licking his lips absentmindedly.

"Mmmmh." Gwyneth groaned again. This time, turning away from him. However, he appeared in that direction immediately and placed the flower beside her head.

His eyes squinted at her. Seeing her small hands firmly grasping the bed linens, he felt the side of his mouth quiver.

Her face remained twisted. The uneasiness spilling out that her happy dream had turned into a nightmare she would not even remember when she woke up.

His eyes darkened as she held on tighter.

If she was beneath him... while he devoured her... Was this how she was going to hold the sheets?

He chuckled deeply. A spine-chilling sound that made the room even colder than it was already.

Gwyneth threw her head back, breathing heavily, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She clenched her teeth, her chest heaving violently, her body trembling....

Sirius observed every action and response she made. She was obviously terrified and appalled by the nightmare she was experiencing. But seeing her in this state made him hard.

He bit the tip of his tongue. Until he tasted his own blood. She was driving him insane. And hell! Insane was an understatement.

He moved to the edge of the bed, pressed his lips to her forehead. Breathing slowly. Enough for her to sense his breath brushing against her skin.

And with a deep breath, he backed away, watching her entire being calm down like the sky after a violent storm.

He smiled. And vanished into the darkness, leaving no words.

The silence of the night spoke for him. After all, he would return.
