1 (The Start)

Prologue Statement

"What can I exactly say about the surge? The enemy so... advance that even us."

"The beings who have expanded into the stars, what we all thought was the pinnacle for our civilizations."

"We ever thought so cleverly that no one could stop us, not even each other. No one can match our high intellect, our weapons, and our people."

"A spike of energy warp space and time near a supermassive black hole causing a rift... A new race among our home galaxy and we were not prepared to face them."

"Their weapons and ships were far greater, like nothing we have seen before, any time we destroy one of them it would only take a few moments for it to reform the structure, from strange and powerful energy, not belonging to our reality of existence that defies all laws of physics. "

"A hostile swarm that sweeps across the galaxy wiping out any intelligent life form they come across... A civilization so far be on us, you could say its science fiction, even during our day of age."

"But on the edge of the galaxy was a hidden planet, any ships that dare approach that part of the space will have their systems malfunction completely by the density of the nebula, and a strange force of energy."

"I'm getting ahead of myself here... I'll let you enjoy the show."

Statement complete

Station codename Hopper was a large space station made for research, specifically for interdimensional research. Inside one of the lab rooms was filled with scientific equipment, and a few historical artifacts lying on a table. A young man was standing over it, with his lab coat swaying around in the air with each move he makes.

"You got any new info? Aiden?

Aiden Klin a young scientist who was in his 20s could be called the jack of all trades when it comes to anything scientific.

Aiden was surprised to see and hear someone come inside his lab, without knocking first. He let loose one of his tools in his hands as it clatters on top of the metal desk.

"HI~ Please don't do that again, Connor" Aiden turns to look at the person who snuck upon him.

Connor strike, a person roughly the same age as Aiden was part of the military station there to protect the facility, as he was one of the officers located there, and maybe one of the last ones.

"I make no promises," Connor smirked

"Well before you snuck up on me, These artifacts that we found on the planet."

"The one with the nebula death clouds? With all the ruined ancient temples? that one?"

"E-yes... That one from these parchments and this stone tablet we gathered, from what I'm able to decipher is that the enemy we are facing previously came into our reality but somehow they were defeated."

Connor gave Aiden a weird look

"So what you're telling me is that, the surge? The people that are kicking our asses were defeated before?"

"Correct... from this stone tablet here."

Aiden carefully picks up a stone tablet depicting two separate beings.

"What we can see from is that this person here was able to force this person back through the spatial rift."

"and what?"

"And what I want to know is where did they go? The people who push them back? Did they also go through the spacial rift as well?"

"That's why this station and the experimental ship was made? To able to travel through the rift to see if we could get any leverage."

"Well when you say it like that, it takes the fun out of it."

"Oh, brother." Connor shook his head and started his way out of the lab room. "Look I'm off to a meeting I have to attend to."

"I'll talk to you later." With Connor leaving the room a holographic AI of a female humanoid appears on the table.

"The catalog of the artifacts is complete."

"Thank you, Laura." Aiden returns back to his work as he picks up the tool that he drops onto the table.

A small rattle shook the room. "What was that?" Aiden was once interrupted again as he looks around the room.

A distant explosion could be heard than an alarm sounded off in the station.

"Enemy ships have been detected! This station is now under assault! All personnel evacuates!"

Aiden's eyes widen out of fear, and because the chance to learn new types of science was at his fingertips but it could be snatched away by death.

"Fuck!" Another explosion shook the room as he pulls the holo disk containing his AI assistance.

"I gotta get to the ship!" He swiftly ran out of the room and through several hallways. "Aiden have you seen the others!" A group of scientists was standing near a pathway that leads directly to the experimental ship.

"No, I haven't."

"Damnit!" One of them slams a fist against the metal walls.

"If we want this project to survive we must prepare a jump." Another exclaim

"But we aren't sure if it's even possible, what if we die in the process?"

"Even if we were to die, I would rather know that I die trying to save our civilization, than run away." Aiden started to run down the pathway toward the ship airlock.

"W-wait!" Aiden was already running down the connection as the others was trying to catch up to him.

Once he arrives at the front of the airlock, he raises up one of his hand to perform a handprint scanner. Allowing him inside the airlock.

Once inside he turns around to see that the group who was following him was about to make it.

"Hurry up!" He shouted at them. But it was too late a stray enemy missile projectile crash into the connection, causing a huge gush of wind to leak out into open space.

"Shit!" Aiden grips onto the side of the airlock and tries to reach out toward one of them but his efforts prove useless as they were all sucked out.

Quickly pulling himself back inside the airlock completely, he pushes a button to close the door.

By this time Aiden's heart and blood were racing, his mental state was in panic mode as he scrambles through the hallway of the large interior ship. It was supposed to carry up to 100 people, but only Aiden was the only one who can make it abroad.

He runs into the helms of the ship and inputs the commands to start up the ship's engines.

"Come on... come on!" Another set of explosions went off in the station, as the station defenses and the ships position there to guard it were trying to defend against the enemy bombardment.

Soon the ship's engines would turn on as it slowly drifts away from the research station.

"Laura Fly this ship to the ark rings."

"I'm already doing that."

Aiden hopes that they wouldn't target him, one thing was that his ship didn't have any weapons, leaving it a lower priority for them to target.

Besides the station there was a large metallic ring that was designed for interdimensional travel, using a similar method of how the surge came upon their reality.

"Let's hope this works..." Aiden clutches his hands into tight fists as the ship slowly begins to approach the rings.

The rings light up as a wormhole appears right before his eyes, the ship flew directly into it cutting off the wormhole from his reality, as it blew up afterward to prevent the enemy from using it to chase after it. Aiden's perspective the moment his body had gone through the event horizon, it felt like mere seconds has passed by.
