• Mystiqarium

After the events of the Celestial War, the Continent fell into delirium. For months there was flood and after the flood came the drought. The earth split and almost half of the population died.

It was on this documented day, that the atmosphere tore open and the nightmarish world known as The Abyss was introduced to mankind.

The realm was divided into five parts and the people were struggling to survive. The Gods were dead, killed by the sons of Oldmother, leaving the people in despair.

In time, a new rulership began and these sons known as the Celestials, took power over the five parts of the Continent.

Each part was called a Wing and each had three towns. The Five Celestials took a Wing each and were given the responsibility to rule as god over the given Wing and make sure the kingdom recovered from the plague they had caused.

They were allocated as such:

The First Wing, housing the towns of Oldracken, Gullersville and Ido, is ruled by Obsidian, the God of Darkness.

The Second Wing, housing the towns of Ryvenmere, Stavern and Gendivar, is ruled by Helios, the God of Fire.

The Third Wing, housing the towns of Borba, Riverna and Axbell, is ruled by Atlant, the God of the Sea.

The Fourth Wing, housing the towns of Romeria, Sandburg and Darkmount, is ruled by Atomos, the God of Existence.

The Fifth Wing, housing the towns of Oridel, Sperton and Elara, is ruled by Glacius, the God of Weather.

These Celestials announced themselves as the New Gods and the people of every wing each god ruled had to worship that god. And they did.

In return, the Celestials blessed each of their Wings and protected them from outside harm. But there was a part of the Continent which no god ruled over, the desolate desert lands at the very ends of the realm, cursed from the war plague. This land is documented as the Heaths, and it housed the poorest of the Continent.

Heathian: A person from the Heaths, seen as a second hand citizen, poor and discriminated.

Gentlefolk: A person from the townish parts of the Continent, meaning someone from any of the Five Wings.

POWER SYSTEM

In the continent, there are only two kinds of people who possess abilities. They are mages and bearers.

Mages: Mages' power are stemmed from history, potions, spells and a respectable relationship with the Celestials. They are usually much older than bearers and are categorised into ranks:

Messengers: The first and lowest rank of Mages who can relay messages to Celestials, beings in other realms, etc.

Travellers: The second rank of Mages with the power to travel to different realms and dimensions

Summoners: The highest rank of Mages with the power to summon otherworldly beings and even Celestials.

Spellforce: Spellforce is the magical element in the realm that can be tapped into by Mages to create magic. It is also used as a source of fuel for light and caravels.

Bearers: Bearers are much different from Mages. They are usually younger as it is easier to tap into their core when the bearer is younger. Their powers are usually based on elements. There are two types of bearers:

Avatars: Avatars are bearers who have been granted powers from the Celestials/New Gods. They are the chosen human embodiment of Celestials and always bear the power the particular celestial has. Avatars were chosen to hunt down Hellbenders and destroy The Abyss.

Incarnates: Incarnates on the other hand were born with their powers. They are true blood descendants of the first humans who were blessed with powers from the Old gods. And so these powers passed down through family lines even after the death of the old gods and now humans with powers are scattered over the Realm. Incarnates only start to materialize their powers at teen age, around the same time when it's best to make someone an Avatar as well.

Essence: There is something called 'Essence' which is a Bearer's core especially after becoming a bearer. It is simply the core of a Bearer's power, both in Avatars and Incarnates. The stronger your Essence gets, the stronger the Bearer gets.

Essence usually gets stronger when Bearers do unknown or random powerful tasks like killing a Hellbender or something of that magnitude and then they unlock an Influence.

Influence: Influence is simply an ability. Influences are different ways in which a Bearer's given powers can be applied. In other words, different types of ways to use their powers are called Influences. A Bearer unlocks stronger and powerful Influences by strengthening their Essence which is done by completing tasks or hidden missions.

Consequence: Consequence is the Bearer's flaw. As a Bearer strengthens their Essence by undertaking formidable tasks and unlocking Influences, there comes a delicate equilibrium. Consequence emerges as the shadow, the inherent flaw intertwined with the Bearer's power.

Temple: The body which houses the Essence of a Celestial.

Ranking Systems for Bearers:

ip: Influence Points are the measuring scale for a Bearer's power.

A Novice Bearer (an NVC) just has basic control over their powers and can manipulate it in the simplest forms. [10ip to 150ip]

An Adept Bearer (an ADP) has unlocked more influences and can use their powers in more various creative ways. [150ip to 300ip]

A Master Bearer (an MST) must have over ten different influences unlocked to be as such. They have mastered granted influences. [300ip to 500ip]

An Attuned Bearer (an ATN) has a stronger Essence and is much more powerful with their influences. They have over 20 influences and are usually the highest most Bearers reach. [500ip to 1000ip]

A Utopian Bearer (a UTP) is a godlike form and the most powerful level for Bearers to achieve. Bearers in Utopian levels can own Expanded Realms. [1000ip to ∞ ]

Expanded Realms: Expanded Realms are cultivated kingdom artificially created by a Bearer who is the ruler and Regular of this kingdom.

The Abyss: A Paradoxical Expanded Realm that shouldn't be existing because it wasn't created by any Bearer and has no Regulator. It is a nightmarish deadly world were a traveller's death is certain.

>Hellbenders: The deadly creatures originating from The Abyss. The three levels of Hellbenders:

Grimms: Level One Hellbenders

Gorgoliths: Level Two Hellbenders

Gehennaracs: Level Three Hellbenders

Knightmare: An Expanded Realm owned by the present strongest Bearer. Knightmare is the only Expanded Realm that is created in someone's dreams, and since our dreams and thoughts are infinite, the Expanded Realm has no definite end.

 >Knightmonsters: The deadly creatures from Knightmare. There are five levels of Knightmonsters:

Knightslaves: Level One Knightmonsters

Knightbeasts: Level Two Knightmonsters

Knightwraiths: Level Three Knightmonsters

Knightreapers: Level Four Knightmonsters

Knightlords: Level Five Knightmonsters

Stellara: An Expanded Realm owned by the second strongest Bearer. Stellara is a beautiful kingdom with stars and constellations, but can be deadly when the Regulator wants.

Regulator: The ruler of an Expanded Realm who has to control it and all the beings created in it to make sure it doesn't go out of control.

Glyph: A mystical device used for measuring power level. It measures in Influence Points.

Influence Activation: The phrase used when a Bearer is about to use an Influence, especially one of great effect.

Olympiad: Realm of the Celestials and Oldmother.

The Convergence Ceremony: The only time in twenty-five years when the Five Wings gather together at the Continental Dome to send off the Avatars on their conquest to destroy The Abyss.
