69 • Frozen Sands

Crossing the threshold into Frozen Sands, the companions were immediately enveloped with a mystical, otherworldly atmosphere. There was a sense of magic, strangeness, just as it felt for Spheris when he first set his eyes on Falling Grass.

There was palpable energy crackling in the air, and as they neared deeper into the whiteness, tinges of anticipation that certainly wasn't [Umbric Intuition] raced down their spines.

First, the soil beneath their feet didn't feel like snow. It was sand. Glittering white sand stretching out in the vast expanse before them. And they seemed to glow ethereally to the farthest horizon that their eyes couldn't see.

There were large mountains, but they weren't normal mountains, of course. Why would they be? Instead, they seemed to be made of ice. They were around the size and height of the other mountains of The Abyss, but one could almost see right through them.
