What is love

And is it necessary to love?

Is it something you must do in order to say you have lived?

What is living?

How do we know that we have lived? That our memories are not just fabricated stories? That what we did in the past really did happen? And that it wasn't just something that came out of nowhere?

Where do I start...

...and where do things end?

To live and to love are two different things, but they're not two distinct things.

To love requires you to live, and to prove that you lived, you have to love.

If it wasn't for someone's love for reading, would we have history at all?

If it wasn't for someone's love for life, would we even have been born?

We may have been conceived during dark and gloomy days, but the chance of being born is worth celebrating.

If not with your parents, then with your siblings. If not with your siblings, then maybe your friends. If not with your friends, perhaps with someone you love? And if you don't have that someone, then try to love yourself.

The proof of life is love because love only happens when someone is living.

The question of who to love, what to love, where and when to love, all depends on you. But the question of how to love and why to love should be clear for you.

And if it isn't, then try to find things that you enjoy.

And if you don't know then try to do random things and see if you enjoy them.

And if life was so harsh that you are unable to do things, then try to find joy in living.

Ambition, hope, laughter, kindness, giving, caring, life; try to find joy in those.

And once it is clear to you why to love, then take care of yourself to know how.

The needs, the wants, the things we aspire to and crave for; all of those are enough.

And if you want more then work hard for it, then grab it and see if it's enough.

And if, for some reason, you still crave more, give it away to others.

Too little will make you thirsty, too much of things will destroy you.

In that regard, how much can you love?

How much love do you need and how much love is too much love?

If it eats you and destroys you, makes you hate yourself and more, that's usually a sign of having too much of things. Misfortune only happens when you have something to lose and having something to lose means you have something too much.

So when you find yourself in heartache, broken, and dead, maybe you have too much love.

Because to live is to love and too much is death, so loving someone but not loving yourself is what destroys you.

What is love but life fulfilled, and death, love, but too much?

And what is life but love that's given, then taken, then broken, then mended, then given, then taken, and broken again?

Live, love, then death. Then live, then love, then death again.

Repeat that several more times and you'll have a lifetime in your hands.

Then repeat that for several more and you'll have written history.

Then repeat that for a thousand years, ten thousand, hundreds more, and you'll have forever figured out.

Then repeat that again a million times, and a second of eternity will have passed.

So imagine what eternal love could be.

Love that existed before you and love that persists after you. Love that gives life and love that transcends life. Love that can be given and taken, broken then mended, lived for and died for once more. Love that is forever, one that lasts a lifetime, a love that lasts some more.

If there was something that represents eternal love, it would be all of us. For we have lived and we have died, therefore love was born. Eternal love is the flames of life passed down from one person to another, one life to another, and one generation to another.

Eternal love exists

Because life exists.

So when the day comes where you ask 'what is love?' Remember that:

To live is to love, for love is the proof of life.
