Chapter 23: Punishment

"Keep it down you two, or you'll wake her up!"

Who is so noisy in the morning? Better yet, who dared to disturb my sleep?

"But-"

"QUIET!"

"Uh-oh! You imbeciles woke her up! You're so dead for!"

That voice-

"Uncle Rapha!"

"Hello, my lovely Rose! How are you feeling?"

"Hi uncle! Well, I would have felt better if someone didn't wake me up!"

"I warned them, but they didn't want to listen!"

"Maybe, once they experience the same punishment as those who dared to wake me up without a reason, then they will learn to be quiet when told to be so."

"A good idea my dear. Then-"

"Wait wait wait! What does this "punishment" is supposed to mean?"

"It's very simple. Since a lot of people used to be noisy in the early morning or late at night when they knew that those who switched places for patrol were resting, but didn't care that those poor people were tired, Rosemary came up with a good enough punishment to teach them a lesson. And so, those who didn't know to be quiet were given tiresome tasks, and after they went to sleep, people on patrol were ordered to disturb their sleep. From then on, this punishment was the best way to teach them to be quiet and respectful of those who need to rest. And before I forget, the last punishment of this kind lasted for two weeks, three years ago. Ever since then, even the new recruits know to be quiet."

"I'm sorry for waking you up. Please forgive me!"

"What the heck, Asmodeus!"

"What? I'm sorry Amon, but I for one, need my sleep!"

"I was just kidding, but don't do it again!"

"We understand! Don't worry. No one will ever wake you up from your beauty sleep without a reason ever again!"

"That's good to hear."

"What's wrong, Leviathan?"

"Nothing, just thinking of what happened in order for you to become so strong and guarded."

"What do you mean?"

"I could tell right away that even with Raphael in the room, you haven't let your guard down even one bit."

"... It's not that I don't want to, but after what happened, I'd rather have my guard up... just in case."

"I see... well then, it's only about early morning. Way to early, so let's get some more rest. Shall we?"

"We shall. You all go back to sleep as well!"

"But why?"

"Because I said so, Asmodeus!"

"Fine! We're going! No need to get angry..."

Once Amon, Asmodeus and uncle Rapha left, Leviathan and I went back to sleep. Only to wake up during lunch due to hunger.

"You go wash up, while I call a maid to help you and bring you some clothes as well."

"Okay, thank you!"

"No problem!"

Last time I entered his bathroom I didn't have that much time to study it, but now I can take a good look around.

Beautiful golden white walls with a big mirror with golden frame. A white sink with specks of gold.

A mini waterfall which I suppose that serves as a bathtub. It is beautiful, with steps made out of... granite, if I guessed right and pillars, white pillars that have golden dragons tangled around them, that hp to support flower pots. Beautiful multicolored flowers that seem to be dangling and forming some kind of beautiful curtain.

"Excuse me! May I enter, My Lady?"

"Yes, come on in!"

"Good day My Lady, my name is Thea, and I'll be helping you to get ready for today."

"Thank you, Thea, but there is no need to call me "My Lady". Rosemary or Rose will do just fine!"

"As you wish, Rosemary."

"Now then-"

"Shall we get started?"

"Yes, please!"

After a short bath, Thea was fast in drying my hair, tying it in an intricate way at the top of my head and curled the ends. Giving it an elegant air. Afterwards, she helped me dress in a beautiful red, simple but elegant red dress, which didn't go pass my kneecaps in front, but at the back, it was beautifully dragging after me.

For make-up, she just colored my lips with a matte red and used some black to produce shadows for the eyes. Other than that, she didn't use anything else.

She gave me a pair of, of course, red high heels. And told me that I was ready to go.

After I left the bathroom, I was surprised to see Leviathan in a beautiful suit if I can call it so, but instead of the suit jacket he had a robe on, with specks of red.

"It seems that we're matching today!"

"Indeed."

"Shall we join everyone for lunch now?"

"We shall, but before doing so, let me do one more thing!"

"What thing?"

"Let me tell you how beautiful you are and here, this rose hairpin will suit you perfectly. There you go."

The moment he put the hairpin on my head and clipped it close, I barely felt it. But it knew that it was there due to its weight.

"Thank you, Leviathan, it's beautiful!"

It truly is beautiful. A perfect red rose made out of ruby, with a green leaf also made out of stone, but oh so perfectly sculpted that it gives the impression that it's real.

"I'm happy that you like it!"

"Like it? I love it! It's so beautiful, and it looks so real!"

"That's because it's not only made from gems, it's made from a rose turned into gems."

"How?"

"It's due to some kind of spell, an old one that I learned when I was a kid and wished to enter The Seraphim Circle. Anyone who wanted to enter back then had to draw a piece of a paper. On that piece of paper was written the name of a spell. Those who wanted to pass had to learn that spell written on the piece of paper. And not just learn, but master it perfectly. I was the only one that passed that year. Many hated me for being so perfect and being able to make it look so easy, but I spent nights learning how to make it work."

"Wow! That really sounds interesting. To be the only one to pass really is something!"

"But no for everyone..."

"What do you-"
