Chapter 19: I can't believe it

"Have you caught them all?"

"We have!"

"Good... but what about Leviathan? How is he? Has he woken up?"

"... He is showing signs of waking up, but it seems like he is caught in a dream state. We aren't sure what is happening, but we are trying."

"I want to see him!"

"You are in no condition to be able to walk around!"

"Then carry me! I have to see him Lucifer! I know that I can help him. Furthermore, I know what's going on... Please let me help!"

"..."

"Please!"

I could tell that he gave up from the exasperated sigh to the frustrated look on his face.

I don't like the fact that I actually almost begged him, but I owe Leviathan a lot for protecting Emily and Emma. The least I can do is help him come out of the dream prison.

Funny as it sounds, it can be deadly. So you have to be fast in helping the one/ones caught in it or, once it's too late, you might as well say goodbye.

"The moment I'll see that you can't stand it anymore, I'm bringing you back to your bed!"

"Okay! But hurry up, or we might be too late in saving his life!"

I know that I don't look exactly okay right now. My once straight beautiful hair. The one everyone compared to the shining Sun, is now dull. The once vibrant color turned to an ashen gray, and it's caught in a messy bun. My clothes, a simple pair of pajamas which reminds me of the hospital gowns from earth. Blue with white stripes.

Though, I can't say that Lucifer is doing any better. He's once styled ponytail is now undone. His hair all over the place and let's not talk about his clothes. His previous beautiful suit was replaced by some training pants and a black t-shirt. And on his legs a pair of boots.

I could tell that he doesn't know how to put his hand on my back due to how bad it is. It's a miracle that I still have my wings. In the end he just put his right hand in the middle of my back and his left hand was careful in picking up my legs. He was really considerate of my situation. Once he had a good grip on me, he told me to grab a blanket and put it around me in order to not be cold, especially on my legs since I didn't have any shoes on, not even a pair of slippers.

With the blanket on me to keep me nice and warm, we began moving. He was careful not to use too much force and was moving at a fast pace and yet not fast enough to cause me any problems.

Now that I think about it, I feel quite safe in his arms, to the point that I could fall asleep if not careful.

"If you want to take a nap, then just do so. I'll just lay you on the couch in Leviathans room since it's so big and comfortable that it can be compared to a bed."

"Just wake me up when we are there. I'll just fall back asleep once I'll be back in my room."

"... Fine, but only because you know how to help and the situation can't be postponed."

Now that I think about it, after that explosion caused by the explosive carefully put in place by Toth and Kephu, the reason why I wasn't also hit by it is that, when the one near the bridge was ready to explode and send me flying, Leviathan was quick on throwing us to the ground and covered me with his body. I don't understand why he did it, but I think he wasn't going to let me be the bait for those monsters and since he couldn't help me in some other way he just chose to shield me, which ended with him being in a coma.

Ever since the first time I visited Hell, I could tell that unlike everyone else, he wasn't mean with me and that there was some short of connection between me and him.

But what happened afterwards socked me more, he told me that he is sorry for not being able to do more. And so, just like that, he fainted and ended up in a coma.

Now that I think about it, he really acts like uncle Rapha when he is hopeless and can't do anything for me due to the fact that the Elders were always making sure to give him something to do in order to be unable to interfere.

I could tell that Lucifer wasn't in a good shape either, after all, he himself dealt with the bigger version of those things.

"I'm sorry!"

"What for?"

"Had I not been afraid of my very own powers, he wouldn't be in this state!"

"It's not your fault! It's our fault for not being able to detect them. It's our fault for not being able to keep your friends safe and for not being able to prove to you that we are strong enough to prove that the partnership between Heaven and Hell will work..."

"Stop it! I know that it will work! And I don't blame you for something which has been brewed for so long. No wonder we all missed it. Plus, the ones behind it, did their homework on all of us!"

"That might be true! But this-"

"Enough! If I said it's okay then it's okay! Now put me down, so we can enter and take a look at Leviathan!"

"Or you can open the door, and I'll carry you inside."

"Don't force your luck."

"Okay! Okay! No need to get mad!"

Once I was with my feet on the ground I made sure to have the blanket wrapped tight around me.

I then turned my attention to the door before me. If I'm not wrong, made of oak wood with beautiful designs which looked like animals, felines more exactly and some flowers. An interesting design if I can say so.

But what is hidden behind the door... I can't believe it.
