Chapter 9: Powers

Myra: Who is Larseta?

The look that amber gave me is undescribable. "You don't remember her even?", kinda look.

It seems like she had seen a ghost.

Amber: I.. apologize your majesty. But I can't speak of her.

Before I could add anything else I hear someone calling out to me interrupting our conversation.

???: YOUR MAJESTY?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THERE??

It was Ioannis.

I looked at him and nervously laughed.

Myra: Just.. haha.. reminiscing.

He sighs in an attempt to calm down.

Ioannis: Please, get down at once.

He says while gesturing me to get down with one hand on his hip.

——————————————————

He seems pretty upset that I was sitting on the roof.

Myra: Ioannis.. why are you so upset? I was just up there because I wanted to look at the city.

Ioannis: I am not upset your majesty. It just scares me to see you like that, especially when you can't even walk on your own.

Myra: You dropped honorifics. Doesn't that mean you are upset?

I gave him a cheeky smile while saying the last part.

Myra: Besides, you don't have to worry so much about me, Ioannis. I am walking on my own just fine right now. See?

As soon as I said that, I tripped.

Ioannis helps me up while chuckling.

Ioannis: Yes, I can clearly see that.

Myra: Ahem, anyway. Why were you looking for me all stressed up?

He hesitates.

Ioannis: Your Majesty is very... flail right now. And it seems we might have some trouble in some time.

I gave him a confused side eye.

Ioannis: There might be a war.

I was taken aback by the sudden remark.

Ioannis: It's unavoidable. The higher ups and political parties are always weary of us. After all, Atlantis was a imaginary place that somehow came into existence out of nowhere.

I took a second to think before giving a reply.

Myra: And my role in this war is?

Ioannis let's go a deep sigh before saying anything else.

Ioannis: Your Majesty's mana is the centre of the power of the Atlantians. As long as Your Majesty is unable to use your powers, Atlantians aren't that strong.

Myra: I was able to use my power though?

He seems shocked to find that out.

Myra: The staircase. I think I did that.

Ioannis takes a second before saying anything.

Ioannis: That's amazing news Your Majesty! Does Your Majesty remember how you did that?

Myra: I am not sure. I just looked at the rooftop and the plants started morphing.

His jaw drops. That jaw drop spoke words that weren't being said.

It looked like a lot of weight came off his shoulder. He almost felt.. relieved?

Of course I didn't really understand how making a staircase to get to the rooftop was so jaw dropping.

Ioannis: Your Majesty, do you understand what that implies?

I shaked my head in confusion.

Ioannis: Your Majesty is slowly gaining control over your powers!

That makes sense but also doesn't because I don't know how to do it again.

Is it one of those cringe things where "if you want it hard enough, you can get it."? Ew.

Ioannis: Your Majesty. We must begin your training now!!

(Author note: So sorry for the short chapter. I just couldn't add more than this in this chapter. Brace yourself for the next chapters. Things start unfolding now.

As always, hope you enjoyed it nonetheless!)
