The Queen of Assassins

Amiel was orphaned when she was fifteen. Her parents were the owner of the then-known largest mafia group that arose after the world fell in the year 2030. Her parent's death was framed as an accident, but Amiel knew they were murdered. Yet, with no evidence to prove her claim, no one believed her—saved one man. He goes by the name of Seven. Seven raised Amiel and trained her on how to be the perfect assassin. Soon, Amiel gained the reputation of being the queen of assassins. No one knew who she really was except for one: Wizardo, her mysterious comrade. They were the unbeatable duo. But Amiel had never seen Wizardo's face—a mystery she wished to solve. He was always just the voice that guided her in her assignments. A voice who comforted her in times she didn’t realize she needed comfort. A voice she desperately wanted to meet. -- DISCLAIMER: photo cover is not mine. Kudos to the artist

Are you ready?

The scent of her vanilla perfume would linger in my nose as my mother tucked me in for the night.

She was dressed in a beautiful black gown. My father was dressed formally as well, the two of them bidding me sweet dreams as they left to attend a late-night gala.

During this kind of evening, I would stay out in the garden instead of sleeping in. I would lie in the grass and stare at the sky.

I'd be lucky if it wasn't raining. If it was, I had no choice but to stay indoors.

Bruce would be there. He wasn't only the family attorney but also a guardian for me when my parents needed to be out at night until late in the morning.

Back then, the garden was carefully tended by a gardener, and roses were always in full bloom. I would often pick one and give it to my mother, beating my father on most days and watching how my mother's face would brighten with delight.
