1 chapter 1: fire

I woke up but something isn't quite right, like I'm floating I'm looking down on what I think is my body.

Am I dead? I can't be a few seconds have past until some how I'm back in a body, mine? I'm not too sure.

The one once I was just looking at seconds ago.

I try to observe my surroundings something grabbed a hold of me, a smellnot any normal smell it was burning my nose hair, yes burning that's it! I bolt my head to the left of me I'm the distance seemed to be an immense fire! I'm not being dramatic when I say that thing was gigantic.

I got curious so I headed towards the beaming fire and it just wasn't curiousity I was freezing cold my full body was frantically shaking as I stood close to the fire my thoughts began to take over me why am I on this pastureland? At this time? I don't exactly know what the time is all I know is it's late it's too jet black and gloomy for it to be early to be honest I'm thankful for this fire if not I would be clueless of my surroundings I'm guessing the fire could be seen from miles away the light could attract a army of moths but one question that crossed my mind and confused the hell out of me was who am I? A popping noise came from the fire that made me jump a little I put my hand on my chest and laughed nervously I'm relieved that it was the fire anyone could be out here it's too ghastly to be out here so late anyone could sneak up on me to be honest I wouldn't be able to see them the darkness would surround them.

I noticed something in the fire I knelt down so I was level with it and so I could read it better I tilted my head to get a better look I gasped as I managed to read the wrinkled can it was a deodorant can "oh.. Shit" I mumbled to myself, the laboratory explosion sent my whole body flying the earsplitting bang from the explosion sent my ears to start ringing it was so distressing my eyes couldn't keep open for much longer my body took control and I shut them with the fire being the last thing I saw.

I woke up once again but with a splitting head ache I grabbed my head in agony, I started to hear alot of chit-chat it was that loud I it felt like they were right next to me I.. Felt.. Hungover I searched my surroundings I was still on the field but in the back of a ambulance on a stretcher covered in a blanket with the ambulances back doors open I could see lots of police officers gathering evidence from the fire, this woman was stood in the back with with me she looked like a police officer well I mean she was wearing the uniform she was very pretty she had long blonde hair tied up in a ponytail she had piercing brown eyes her face was shaped like a heart so welcoming like I felt comfortable talking to her I adjusted myself so I could sit up comfortably I looked down all I could see was blackness my clothes were covered in sutt that backfired from the fire "ah.. Your awake" the woman spoke she had a almost chirpy voice like no matter what she seemed happy.

"we ran some tests on you" the woman said she carried on speaking but I wasn't listening I was distracted by something else I just nodded to show I was listening but really I was pretending I was trying to scoot myself up so I could look behind her I could see what seemed to be the last of the fire it was just a black circle burnt grass and bits of burnt rubble that seemed to be placed on the fire, it was surrounded by bright yellow police tape "hello... Miss?" the lady spoke I shaked myself back to reality and I looked at her "I'm detective Sally... What's yours?" Sally quizzed me "mhh.. If I knew I would tell you" I replied back to her, "so.. You don't know your name?" Sally said in a confused way I just nodded "yeah you need to go to the hospital.. Get tested for a concussion" spoke Sally while writing in her note pad "I was confused before the explosion hit me" I spoke to Sally "wait!...when did you first see the fire?" Sally interegated me "I don't know the exact time but.. It was late at night" I responded back to her "sweetie... My team examined the fire the fire started this afternoon" I was baffold and you could see that on my face "no.. That's not right I woke up next to the fire then I stood there for a while until it exploded" I frantically spoke to her "do you know if your on any medication or under the influence of alcohol?" Sally spoke very quickly and slowly steped back like I was crazy "what!.. No!" I bellowed at her.

But am I?.

"okay! Was anyone there with you?" Sally questioned me "look detective!.. I told you everything if someone was there I wouldn't have been able to see it was pitch black...now I told you everything can I please go home?" I demanded, Sally just looked at me gobsmacked I stretched like I've been asleep for a thousand years.

Something in the distance caught my eye I peered over Sally to get a closer look a tall handsome man was approaching us I licked my lips in excitement he was dreamy he had brown curly hair brown soft eyes and a rocking body "hello... Detective, hmm she's my girlfriend. Is there any chance I could take her home?" his voice was deep and each thing that came out of his mouth just seemed so seductive "his he your boyfriend?" Sally questioned me I just nodded and at the end of the day I have no clue where I am and who I am so they may be a possibility I might be his girlfriend I was in dream land starting at him he chuckled at my reaction his laugh made me all tingly.

"okay but i need you sir to awnser some questions" Sally asked the dreamy man while pointing at him with her pen "is it okay detective if we just go home and rest I promise I will take her to a hospital and come and see you later" he said while raising his hands up, Sally signed while nodding I stood up slowly while the man helped me up he picked me up with ease and placed me on the soft grass, he placed his arm round me guiding me to where he was walking I didn't question anything all I knew was were leaving the field I took a quick glance behind me to look at what was left from the fire I felt a rush of sadness all of a sudden and quickly turned my head forward as we left.

While walking he took his arm away from my shoulders "your not my boyfriend are you?" I asked the tall man "of course not" he replied back I tilted my head in confusion "okay then... Who are you?" I quizzed him he chuckled a little before responding "the main question is... Who.. are.. you?~"
