Chapter 5

POV - Judas

'This guy has pictures of himself and a family all over this place.' I notice again that Salas is actually insane as he leads me to his living room this time without holding a lamp.

He's also pretty bad at hiding, because all the photos he's in are with a different family.

Arriving at the living room I saw when walking in the place I take a seat that he points at and he sits down.

After a couple seconds of silence Salas asks "You have questions? Correct."

"Yes, why should you be my teacher? What do I gain out of it?" I ask hoping I can just go home and deal with my own problems.

"Yes, well. First off you are now biologically past puberty and have arrived at the age of around 17, so you can't exactly go to a normal school." I cut him off before he can get to his second point.

"My family is well off. They can easily get me the best tutors money can buy." I stand up ready to leave while waiting for him to continue. Showing my unwillingness to be his student.

"Well besides the fact that people all over the globe would beg to be my student, let me give you another reason." He says with a mocking smile. "You might want to sit down for this"

I cross my arms and remain standing. It would be a shame if I have to be this dude's student. He has already made me come to the realization that we are in the world of DxD, so I know that all I would have to do is find a somewhat normal Fallen and explain my situation to them to join them.

"Well don't say I didn't warn you." He says with a hint of annoyance. "Your uncle will arrive in around 1 hour, and when he does you will be leaving here in cuffs or a bodybag if you don't become my student."

"Why" I ground out.

"HAHAHA, because you radiate angelic power." He says to my dismay. "There is no world where he doesn't instantly put together the pieces."

Feeling a bit light headed I sit back down. "I could just leave." I say bitterly. "I would miss my family and home, but at the end of the day I could just leave and join the other fallen."

"Nope." He says with a shit eating grin. "You still have the residue of being a devil on you, much like how Fallen who have been reincarnated as Devils have Fallen residue on them."

"What does that matter?"

"It matters because someone is bound to notice it. Fallen are the only Race that still can't regain members after the war. If they learn of you who was once a devil, but is now a fallen they would experiment on you."

I pale at his words. Experimentation? I would rather just die again as that would be far less painful.

Seeing my face Salas chuckles a little and I hear him whisper under his breath, "the MIB would get him first though"

He then shakes his head and continues with his points.

"If you were to become my student, all these problems would solve themselves." He says.

"How."

"Well, as my student you would no longer have to attend school or have tutors. You would not have to worry about having to go into hiding as I can hide your angelic presence, and best of all you wouldn't have to hide your magic." He gives all the answers I want in rapid succession.

'Is it worth it? Of course it is.' I think.

I can't tell this bastard that though. He'll think I'm weak or pity me. I should say something to throw him off, but still get him to want to take me as his student.

As I'm debating what to do Salas is taking multiple glances at the clock in the room while getting progressively more nervous.

I decide to stand up and walk around to clear my head. "WAIT."

Wiping my head in Salas's direction I ask "What." slightly annoyed he would interrupt my thought process.

"Don't go yet. There's one more benefit if you join me." He says.

'He needs me for something.' I think. 'After all, why would he be so helpful?'

Looking at him with a look that conveys my desire for him to continue he does.

"I will help you discover the mysterious behind your birth." He says as my heart begins to race.

"How"

"I am currently in a contract with Lord Bael helping him develop methods for devils to become more resistant to light. If you become my student I will help you by asking him about any missing Pure-Blood Devils." He says. "If he doesn't know anything I will approach the current Beelzebub. He owes me a favor."

'My birth family. Do I even care about them? No I don't. Then why does my heart race every time he brings them up.' I should just accept, but I need to know why he wants me as a student so bad.

"I accept." I say as I see his face light up in greed. "On one condition."

"Yes". He says. Seeing my confused look he continues "I need to study your transformation for my magic matrix. If I can understand the process I will be able to stand toe to toe with any ultimate-class being in the world, and no longer need to hide. So no matter what your condition is, I will accept it."

"Within reason of course." He adds with a nervous expression.

That answers my question at least, and I still have a condition I can impose on him. Strength. To survive in this crazy world besides a powerful backer one needs power themself.

"I want you to train me to fight on top of whatever else you plan to teach me." I state my condition.

"No problem." Salas answers with a sinister smile. "My fighting style was created while fighting Fallen throughout europe. If anyone can teach an angelic being how to best fight and defend their weak spots it's me."

"But, before that we must teach you my magic matrix." He continues before I interrupt him.

"I thought fallen just naturally have their own magic, why would I need to learn your magic matrix."

"Yes, Fallen do have angelic light magic which is a part of their being, but you happen to be in the precarious position where you must hide that fact." He continues, "My magic matrix just happens to walk the path of light. Which means there is no need to hide your magic after learning it, as you can use it to mask the presence of your fallen nature."

"So as long as I learn it I won't be found out." I ask.

"I guarantee no one but me would be able to identify the fact that you are a fallen angel." Salas says before putting on a somewhat weird expression. "But, you will have to be careful around other fallen."

"Why."

"Well you see, to advance my study of light magic and to advance my magic matrix I needed to study ethier angels or fallen. Fallen just so happened to be easier to find so I took some of them in secret. Their leadership threw a hissy fit and attacked me allowing the fallen I took to get away. Lucky it taught me a valuable lesson." He said

"What did it teach you?" I asked hoping he wasn't about to say what I thought he was.

"I learned that Fallen can't escape me if they are dead, and sadly it tends to put fear into the younger fallen so they won't just attack me randomly." He said as if he was slightly annoyed at the fact.

"So. From now on if you use your magic near the fallen they will know you are my student and try to kill you as some twisted form of revenge." Salas shrugged helplessly as if there was nothing he could have done about it.

"So now wherever I go I have to watch out for them." I ask him.

"Yep." Salas says with a smile as if he didn't just admit to killing multiple fallen angels and dooming me to never have a chance to speak to them as long as I use his magic matrix.
