XX SON IV

Within the living room of the Esther's, a young boy was knelt on the floor before an older version of Ankuj, while a young girl was being fussed over by her worried father.

"My little darling precious, how did you become like this?!" Papa Esther knelt as he wailed; he gently patted his daughter here and there, hands shaking as he didn't know what to do about the bruise and cuts, "where's the doctor?! Why's he taking so long in getting here?! Don't I pay him enough, what's the point of feeding him?!"

Mama Esther sat to the side, silently sipping the fragrant tea with her lashes lowered as a forced smile was graced on those pretty lips of hers; she made no remarks at her overdramatic husband.

"Papa..." Eyes gleaming with tears, Eshi cuddled into her father's embrace as she wept out crocodile tears, "he's a bully!~"

Hearing this, Ankuj jumped up as he shakily pointed his fingers at her, "you! You, don't lie!"

A middle-aged man who sat on the leather sofa opposite Calypso seeing his son acting up again angrily stomped the cane in his hands on the ground, "rebellious son! Kneel!"

"Father!" Nearly in tears Ankuj looked at his angry father.

"Still not kneeling. Do you need me to beat you before you listen to me?!" Bamard Xhiva pointed his cane at the son he had raised for six years.

Really, how did his son get involve with the precious daughter of the Esther's?! It would be alright if they had gotten along, however now this son of his was going to ruin all his plans!

Ankuj seemed to be shaking when he heard his father's threats, with a loud plop, he knelt again fuming as he grinded his teeth together at the unfairness of this whole situation.

Eshi who was in her father's embrace turned her head slightly, peeking in triumph at the obedient little boy.

Bamard turned towards Madam Esther, the one who was without a doubt the head of the house. Laughing awkwardly, he tried to smooth out the situation, "it seems that the children were rather rough while playing…"

A knock on the door and the doctor had arrived, while his precious daughter was being examined by the old doctor, Ulysses sharply turned towards Bamard when he heard his words.

Earlier this man had come to form a trade with the House of Esther. The land that the Esther's owned was known for its famous variety of wine, although the large majority of the south of Iesiera was filled with scorching heat all year round, the years were filled with endless warmth all spring and summer and endless rain throughout the autumn and winter, resulting in great grapevine harvest.

However, five years ago the weather had been rather erratic, cold one day, hot one day, wet one day, dry one day, resulting in a decrease of grapes being harvest.

Nevertheless, the land that the Esther's owned for some reason always produced the best grapevines, meaning that their wines were without a doubt the best in all lands. But with the decrease in the wine production, instead of loss of profits the wine were heavily sought after at high prices, hence the house never had any worries about going bankrupt.

Meanwhile House of Xhiva were known for their lapis lazuli, their land was the only place that could mine such precious stone.

Therefore because of this, the two houses wanted to come together in trade, one wanted wine to put in their precious stone bottles, one wanted the precious stones to hold their wines. Of course both didn't know each others intention, after all if they did, the whole trade would be a joke.

Now, however, this trade had probably fallen through the roof.

"Lord Xhiva," Calypso smiled, her lovely face was dark as she flashed her teeth; she set the empty cup down on the saucer, "I believe that today hasn't been a good day, maybe we could continue to discuss this the next time."

"Heh, the next time? I believe there is no need for a next time! Butler, come see the guests out!" Before Bamard could even get his son to apologise, the freak loving father Esther had already opened his mouth to chase them out.

Bamard's lips twitched, although the trade hadn't been that important, the use of their wine would without a doubt bring profit to the Xhiva house, especially if their wine was only sold through them.

Ha. Bamard internally sighed, this son of his, he really had to go ruin everything. Giving a slight cough he stood up, nudging his son with his cane to stand up also. Grabbing his son's head he bowed towards the couple, "we apologise for the issues today; however, I hope that this wouldn't ruin the possible trade between the two houses."

With that the two was escorted off the land of Esther, by the impatient head butler whom seemed to want to eat the little boy alive. Head Butler Aden dusted his hands before he walked the long trek back to the house, this front garden was too big, maybe he should talk to the madam in bringing the front gate closer to the front door? After all, carriages weren't allowed in the front garden unless it belongs to the couple or their daughter. Head Butler Aden shook his head at the weird rule that had been set down, after all it wasn't his place to be concerned about such matter.

Bamard stood in front of the closed gate that didn't have a single guard, for a long time, "father, I really didn't want to stir up trouble…that little girl was just hateful!"

Bamard glanced down at his son, his eyes flashing a strange light before he let out an irritated sigh, "you're really deep in your son act, tell me what happened."

Ankuj stiffened as he looked down, before his lips formed a deformed smile, violet eyes flashing a sudden ruby red, his body was morphed into a black mist. Not too long after a handsome youth was standing next to the man, his height that of a young adult.

Features were completely different from the man next to him, tied up fiery red hair shimmering in the light, skin of ebony and extremely lean and muscular build, his clothes too had been replaced with a low hung half pleated plain white and gold kilt. His chest was decorated in several intricate golden symbols. On his feet were simple sandals, as he stood there with his arms crossed.

Bamard didn't seemed to have been affected by his sudden change, instead his expression turned dark, "how could you change so casually like that, what if others see?"

Ankuj smirked as he shrugged, his sharp pair of eyes lazily scanned the surrounding as he glanced at one of the windows of the mansion, "humans aren't able to see if I don't allow them anyways."

With that he turned around and walked towards the large horse carriage that was waiting for them.

"Hey, you crazy animal, tell me what happened between you and the young lady of Esther! Have you realised that you crashed an important business transition today?" Hearing him mentioning that child Ankuj suddenly halted for a few seconds, before a dangerous smile graced his lips.

"It wasn't anything much, just casual banter with an...intelligent child," too intelligent, as if the child wasn't a child but an adult in a kid's clothing. "Also, be glad I haven't paid you back for what you said to me today, treat it as if I'm in a good mood~" He opened the door and leapt into the carriage, "old man hurry up, I wanna go home."

Bamard's lips twitched, before he took a deep breath, why did he bring this devil into his house back then? He must've been crazy, very crazy back then.

Shaking his head he got onto the carriage, forget it, coming to the House of Esther had been this youth's request anyways, the business transition was just an excuse. Nevertheless, if the trade had been sucessful then he would also get something from this trip, but it was all his wishful thinking!

Within the Esther's mansion Calypso stood by the window, her eyes stormy as she watched the carriage that didn't have a coachman driving away.

That youth... She had sensed a powerful strange aura that didn't belong to the supernatural race ever since both had entered the land belonging to the Esther's, however she only realised it belonged only to the child and not his father's when she saw him. No, not a child as she had just witness him transforming at her gate a few mintues ago.

Was it a warning?

A vicious smile appeared on her lips. Was it starting? It hasn't even been a full four years yet, they are really impatient.

Turning around, she looked at her husband and daughter who were happily laughing and chatting while eating cake.

Seeming as if having sensed her mother's stare, Eshi looked up and beamed at her mother completely unaware of her dark mood, "mama come try this new cake, it's so delicious!"

Calypso sighed, before a tender smile appeared on her face, nevermind, they had the support of the whole supernatural race, so what if they come, were they willing to wipe out the whole race? If so...

Would they still be Gods?

Miles away from the Esther's estate Ankuj looked out of the window at the endless fields, the hair on his arms were standing up as he felt the hostile gazes around him. Sneering at the endless emptiness he paid the murderous stares no mind as he continued to enjoy the view.

It was too soon... But it's not like they couldnt wait.

Waiting, isn't that what the Gods race had been condemned to all these years?

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! ׬×
