CLARA.

My parents had always made me a huge pizza for breakfast. They would cut it into four squares, and a big glass of orange juice would be sitting beside it. That was when they were alive. They died in a rogue attack and since then my life changed.

They died seven years ago. Unbelievable, but now they're dead, both of them. Someone told me that they were running the perimeter of the territory when a group of rogues attacked. After their death I was moved to the pack house to live with the Alpha's family. That was the day I became an Omega.

"Clara, get your ass down here," the Alpha yelled up the stairs, breaking me out of my reverie.

I ran down the stairs and bowed when I reached the kitchen that was filled with the Alpha's and Beta's family.

"What did I tell you? You are supposed to be downstairs with breakfast ready by seven o'clock. It is now seven-fifteen," the Alpha, whose name was Derrick, slapped me.

"I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again, I promise," I said, holding my stinging cheek.

"Go get breakfast ready," he ordered. "And no breakfast for you today."

What did I do to deserve this? I asked myself as I began making breakfast. I made waffles, eggs multiple different ways, pancakes, and bacon. I had gotten used to this, having done it for seven years now. I made the breakfast in ten minutes. Also, I made an extra piece of bacon for myself and hid it under a towel. I brought all the food in and stood aside, waiting for my orders. These orders included passing the salt and replenishing the jugs of water.

My stomach grumbled as I watched everybody eat and my hands shot to my stomach as if they would stop the sound it was making.

"Clara here is your list of chores for today," the Luna said, handing me a sheet of paper. Her perfectly manicured nails showing.

The Luna was very beautiful and I couldn't help but admire her beauty. Her name was Denise. She never slapped me like everyone else, but would say words that weren't so kind.

The list contained many chores like cleaning the kitchen and putting all the dishware away, cleaning every room in the house, washing all the clothes, vacuuming the floors,

dusting the house and polishing the silver.

I started my chores immediately after they finished eating, starting with cleaning the kitchen. In the process I ate the piece of bacon I had hidden quickly, then I cleaned all the dishes and put them away. I polished the silver when I was in the kitchen. Silver used to hurt me, it burned my skin. I had to wear gloves when polishing it, or my hands would be burned to a crisp.

After polishing the dishes I cleaned all the rooms as quickly as possible, organizing the clothes into piles. I washed them all before vacuuming the floors while waiting for the clothes to be cleaned in the washer. I dusted the house, and then transferred the clothes from the washer to drying. I cleaned all the windows in the house, which was a lot. Once the clothes were done, I brought them to their appropriate rooms.

"Clara, we are having guests over tonight. You need to set the table with the finest china," Luna Denise said walking past me. "And nice job polishing the silver."

"Thank you Luna," I say bowing.

I went over to the china cabinet and grabbed the finest china the Alpha had. They had designs of wolves over them. The guests coming must be another Alpha from another pack or the elders. I set the table and placed the silverware in the appropriate places. I set a cup and saucer next to every plate.

I cut the grass around the house, making sure that it was neat, then watered the blooming lilies that lined the house. Once I made sure the yard was presentable I walked into the pack house and was met by the Alpha.

“Clara, go get dressed into something that is fit for dinner, you will be serving us and if you do well without mistakes you will be rewarded with the gift of having dinner tonight," the Alpha said grabbing my chin.

"Yes Alpha, and if I may ask, what kind of tea will I be serving?" I asked timidly.

"Green," the Alpha said before releasing his hold on my chin and walking out of the room.

Going upstairs I hurriedly took a shower, braided my long dark chocolate hair and put on a dark blue sundress that went up to my knees. I put on black flats as well.

I later made the green tea and set it on the table, then walked into the foyer and waited at the doors to greet the guests that were coming. About five minutes of waiting the guests arrived. It was Elder Maurice and his mate Elder Eleanor. Elder Maurice was a man around 70 years old, his hair was thin and graying and his eyes were crinkled around the edges. Elder Eleanor was also around 70 her hair still had the beautiful blonde and her eyes crinkled when she smiled.

"Hello Elder Maurice, Elder Eleanor," I greeted them, putting on a fake smile. "I'll show you to the dinning room. The Alpha and Luna should be with you shortly."

I led them into the dinning room and showed them to their spots.

"Would you two like any tea while you're waiting?" I asked, holding the kettle that had the green tea in it.

"Yes, thank you..." Elder Eleanor trailed off. Then I thought that I should maybe introduce myself.

"Oh I'm so sorry, my name is Clara, Clara Michaels," I said.

"Thank you Ms. Michaels," Elder Eleanor said, as I poured the tea.

"You're welcome," I said, walking out of the room and to the Alpha's office.

I knocked on the door and entered when I heard the Alpha say I could.

"Alpha Elder Maurice and Elder Eleanor have arrived," I said, bowing. All this bowing was starting to hurt my back and the fake smiling was starting to hurt my cheeks.

"Thank you Clara," the Alpha said still working on his paperwork, I start to walk out. "And Clara," I turn around almost running into the Alpha, "if you mess up tonight, you know what will happen," he pulled my hair, making me fall to my knees.

Yes I knew what would happen. I shivered at the thought and stood up following him to the dining room. The Luna was sitting beside Elder Eleanor, they were laughing about something. The Alpha walked into the room, kissed the Luna's cheek before sitting down. Even though he was fairly crude to me, he would never lay a hand on the Luna.

"Clara, go make a Caesar salad, we are going to be having steak for dinner, make them all medium rare, also for dessert we are going to have chocolate lava cake," the Alpha said, dismissing me with the wave of his hand.

I made the salad, fairly quickly. The Elders complimented it and the Alpha and Luna just nodded their hands. Everything went smoothly, and they all seemed to enjoy the dinner. After cleaning the plates, I made my way towards the room, passing the Alpha's room office.

"So that is the girl from the prophecy?" Elder Maurice questioned. I knew I shouldn't eavesdrop but I couldn't help myself.

"Yes, she is completely, useless, but she is the one," the Alpha said.

"I can't help but wonder why her," Elder Maurice said.

"I don't know why it's her she is complete weak and useless and barely ever does what she is told," he said and I gasped knowing it was me that he wass talking about.

I heard the Alpha run to the door and swing it open. He growled, his eyes turning black with anger when he saw me and grabbed me by the arm.

"Elder Maurice, we will continue discussing this another day so if you can please return to your home while I deal with this pest," he growled.

"Of course, Alpha," Elder Maurice said.

He dragged me down the hall way. I knew where he was taking me, he wass taking me to the basement where he used to torture the rogues.

"Alpha, I'm sorry I didn't mean to eavesdrop, I'm sorry please forgive me," I begged as he pushed me down the stairs of the basement.

"No you were eavesdropping on my conversation with Elder Maurice, you will be punished," he chained me to the wall in silver chains. The chains burned my wrists.

My face was pressed against the wall. I saw him picking up a whip from the table against the wall opposite of me.

"You will be punished for what you did," he growled and raised the whip.
