Chapter 4 I Have A Feeling

Rowan's POV:

The Princes arrived just a little after midday. As the royal carriage pulled up you could hear Pa yelling in a giddy yet demanding tone for us all to line up in front of the house because we had special guests. My siblings as per usual, had no clue what was going on. Though once they saw the carriage, they all tried to look their best. Especially my brothers who tried to impress the Princes with their stature and strength as they all hope to one day be knights. Me, on the other hand, I didn't bother. I just stood sluggishly looking bored, hoping they would leave soon so I could get back to work on the farm.

Once the Princes got out of the carriage, my father offered them a tour of our quaint family farm. Before they accepted though, they wanted to assess our house. They opened doors and windows, knocked on the wood, gave each other looks and nodded at each other. I admit our home may not look nice but it is in pretty good shape. Then they took a trip around the farm. They looked at our cows, chickens, and where they lived. They even asked Pa how he treated the animals. Finally, in the end, they introduced themselves. The one on the left was Kelan, the one on the right was Kendrick. They must of been identical twins because there was not a single difference between them that I could find. They looked alike from their tan skin to their raven black hair to their moss green eyes. I wanted to admit they were hot but my hatred for royals reminded me, I couldn't think that. Then they looked at me and I felt strange, like I was flying in the clouds. And all I could do was stare.

Kendrick's POV:

I didn't think this day would get any better but only worse. Once we arrived at the farm, we had a whole family of five upon us. Though only four jumped to greet us and one stayed back. I hate being surrounded but when I noticed one was missing, I searched for the odd duck who didn't jump to greet us. I noticed her looking at me when her siblings came up to me. I wondered what was wrong with her, maybe she is shy. Though when I looked at her I felt as if I needed to hug her, to hold her forever. I had the feeling that she was the most beautiful creature in the world from her wavy brown hair and freckles to her little button nose. I shook the feeling off though as it was a strange, unusual feeling and continued my business.

While the father asked me if Kelan and I would like a tour of his home, I saw all of the boys trying to impress Kendrick by showing off their different skills. He dislikes anyone trying to use him due to being a Prince so they could move up the ranks. He feels like they should earn it through hard work as do I. So I went to save my brother by telling him we have been offered a tour of the farm and if he would like to join. He almost too excitedly said yes.

So first we set out to check out the house. We want to make sure all houses are in good shape and have no damages that need repair. Then we checked the farm and made sure the animals are well cared for. My brother and I liked what we saw so we went back to the family who appeared to wait nervously. For some reason, I still couldn't shake that feeling. The feeling I had for the brunette farm girl. I thought to myself that I would talk to my brother about it later when we get home.

Kelans POV:

After me and my brother agreed on everything meaning everything looked good and no damages, we introduced ourselves to the family. Though I doubted they would remember who was who. Even our own mom, the Queen who has to remember the names of other Royalty and Nobility, has trouble remembering who is who out of her own children.

The family introduced themselves to us. John McKinely was the dad and only guardian as their mom died sometime after their last child was born. Then there was the only daughter and youngest of the children: Rowan McKinely. Finally the sons: John Jr. (1st born and 1st son) Joseph McKinely (2ndson), Jace McKinely (3rd son), and Jebediah McKinely (4th and final son). After we got through talking we were about to leave when my eyes met the one of the girl, Rowan. I then felt something I thought me and brother would never feel in our entire lives. Something I never thought would be possible with our love for sharing everything but if I'm right and he feels the same and if she does too then this might be possible. When we got home I needed to have a long chat with my brother.
