After we spent a little more time together, Roman and I got dressed and walked down the stairs arm in arm and in silence, the palace felt like a dark, silent cave as we walked towards the meeting room at the end of the first floor and where several guards were stationed.

There were our guards and the president's security outside lined up next to each other on the walls, I saw Nolan near the door and by the expression on his face the moods were not good inside that room but he just nodded and opened the door for us to pass and Roman kept a protective but also comforting hand on my back as we walked into the room.
