7 Chapter 7

Princess Liviana's POV

It's been a month since the great 'your highness' talked to me, it was when he took me to the library. I remembered his strange face; he looked like he's restraining himself. He just stormed out again and left me dumbfounded. How rude.

He always comes back after midnight and leaves before sunrise. His acts gave me the impression that he's avoiding me. I rarely saw him around the castle as well. He's not in the training ground too when I got the chance to visit the children and played with them. I killed my time by reading almost all the books piled in the library and talking to Connor and Colten.

"Hi, Lili!" Colten greeted me as he sat down next to me. We had dinner a few minutes ago, and I decided to sit here in the garden to look at the full moon. "What are you doing here?"

I pointed to the moon. "It's pretty, right?" He looked up and smiled.

"It is! Do you believe in Moon Goddess?" He asked.

I shook my head. "Is she real?" I asked, looking at the moon.

"She is! Moon Goddess sends someone to be your mate." Colten stated.

I chuckle. "Mate? Do you mean soul mate? Is that thing even real?" I asked.

Colten shrugged. "I don't know yet. I will know once I found her."

"How will you know if she's your soul mate?" I asked as I sighed. If soul mate is real, I wonder what my soul mate is doing right now. Is he married or still looking for me?

"I also wonder how I would know." I turned my head to look at him. I chuckle as I pinched his both cheeks. "Aww! Why Lili?"

"Stop thinking about it. You're just ten years old, for Pete's sake!" I cupped his face, and I kissed him both cheeks. "I don't want you to find your soul mate yet. Let me be your only Princess for now, is that alright?" I asked, smiling.

He nodded and smiled widely. "I'd love to!" He exclaimed as he giggled.

"I'm jealous." Connor suddenly appeared wearing a fake sad face. I think he just heard what we were talking about. Colten and I both laughed because of his foolishness. These two entertain me all the time.

"Have you found your soul mate, Connor?" I asked him as he sits.

"Soul mate?" He questioned. He looked at Colten then back to me. "Well… not yet."

"Wait, do you guys really believed that you have soul mates? I mean, didn't we have the freedom to choose who we want to fall in love with?" I asked them. "What if you know it was her, but you don't like her. What will happen, then?"

"No matter what happens, once you find him, you'll fall in love with him. There's a strong bond that will make you two inseparable." Connor explained seriously, and that made me frowned.

"Are you serious?" I asked, confused.

My reaction suddenly changed when Connor smiled mischievously. "Kidding!" He shouted, then laughed at the top of his lungs. I heard Colten chuckling as well. "You should've seen your face! I cannot believe you'll fall for that!" He said in between laughter.

"I'm gonna kill you!" I yelled! I face my fist at him, but when I'm about to hit him, my body became numb then pain surges into my body. I fell to the ground as I cried in pain.

"Lili!" I heard Connor and Colten called my name in unison. I embrace myself as another surge of pain hits my whole body. I felt tears escaped my eyes.

"Lili, what's happening?" I heard Colten's trembling voice. My eyes started to get blurry. Another surge of pain pound my body that made me screamed, then I saw nothing but black.

Prince Conrad's POV

Like what I've been doing for a month now, I returned to the castle past midnight. I was stopped by the commotion happening in front of my room. The King, the Queen, and my two brothers looked bothered and worried. There are doctors and nurses as well. I started to feel nervous about what is happening.

"Conrad!" Colten shouted once he spotted me. I walked towards them, but my eyes are focused on what's happening in my room.

"Where have you been?!" Connor yelled at me angrily for the first time in our life. Princess Liviana is not with them. Where is she? Who's in my room? My wolf growl he became restless and worried. What am I feeling? There's a foreign feeling building up inside me.

"Princess Liviana's sick!" I heard the King yelled that knock some senses in me.

"She was crying in pain, son. You're her husband, you should be on her side in times like this, but you're nowhere to be found." Mother said. Disappointment is visible in her eyes.

"She was in great pain." Connor started talking calmly. "I think that's the reason why she lost consciousness. Then right now, she's burning up."

"Is she going to be okay, Connor?" Colten asked while looking so worried.

"She will." Connor answered him then he turned to me. "Where were you, brother?" He asked my whereabouts again, but I just shook my head. I cannot utter a single word. The truth is I was with Thalia the whole night. I cannot tell the truth because I know it will make them all mad at me. I was having a steamy night with Thalia while my wife was in pain. I'm such an idiot.

The doctor suddenly appeared; he explained that the Princess is still unconscious, and he is assigning nurses who will take care of her since she still has a high fever. The majesties thanked him and leave.

I hurriedly walked into my room and found her lying on my bed. Her beautiful face is so pale, and she's sweating. She looks vulnerable and weak. Upon seeing her, my wolf wouldn't stop whining. He's blaming me. I felt a pang in my chest.

"I think someone caused her that pain." Connor said as he sat on the couch. "Before that happens, she was alright. She's actively debating us about soul mate." He sighed. "I don't know the reason why you're avoiding her, but brother, can you please try to get along with her? Maybe she's having a rough time being married to you." He said, and his words hit me. He's right. I'm just thinking about myself.

"I know. I will apologize once she woke up." I told him. I will take care of her from now on.
