18 Chapter 18

Princess Liviana's POV

"Aren't you going to eat, your highness?" I asked him as I chew my food while my mouth is full. We decided to stop mingling with his friends and took a bite. My feet and legs hurt, and I'm hungry.

"Manners, please." He said before drinking his champagne. I rolled my eyes at him as I continued eating. "You're pigging out. Your admirers might get disappointed." He said seriously. I rolled my eyes again and drank my champagne.

"I'm still gorgeous even I'm pigging out, your highness." I said as I grinned.

"Are you?" He said insultingly. I gave him a death look. "You don't seem to care about your figure." He assumed.

"Do I have to? I mean, it's not that I have to be sexy for someone to like me. Besides, I love eating, especially sweets." I explained while checking which dessert I should eat first. Is it the chocolate brownie cake or the chocolate mousse cake?

"Well, you're right. I don't mind you getting fat." He said as I started coughing. I almost choked. What the hell?

"You should stop talking while I'm eating." I said in between my cough. He looked at me worriedly as he gave me a glass of water.

"Why is that?" He asked innocently.

"You'll be the death of me, your highness." I said while shaking my head.

"I think your brain got chocked as well." He said mockingly. He gave me a hanky to wipe my mouth.

"This celebration is kind of boring. Don't they have some performers to entertain us?" I complained.

He looked at me blandly. "Didn't that food in front of you is enough to entertain you?"

"Well, some—"

"Hi, Princess Liviana." I heard the Queen of this kingdom greeted me. I instantly perked up and bowed at her. "I heard from your brother that you're good at playing the violin."

My eyes widen in shock. What a talkative brother I have here. I calmed down and faked a smile. "I just know how to play, but I'm not—"

"It's settled then. You'll be playing your favorite piece for all of us. Good luck!" My jaw dropped as she walked away. She didn't even let me opposed. I'm doomed.

I looked at the great your highness to ask for help, but my hope suddenly vanished because of the wide grin on his face. "I'm looking forward to this entertainment you're looking for, my violinist Princess." Is this what they called karma? I started to get nervous, and I know who's to blame. After all of this, I will make sure that my brother will come home with a broken leg.

"You look like you're ready to murder someone." He said plainly. "Do I need to look for the guards before you go up on the platform?" He said scornfully as he chuckled. I gave him a death glare as I walked in front of him to go up on the platform.

Of all people inside this ballroom, of all princesses, of all women, why me? I felt a butterfly in my stomach as I got nearer to the platform. I feel like throwing up. It's been six months since I got married and six months since my last practice. I hope I don't mess up. In front of me are royalties from different kingdoms. I should do my best.

When I got on the platform, all eyes instantly focused on me. I immediately got goosebumps all over my body. Someone from the back gave me a violin. I positioned comfortably and placed the violin on my shoulder. I looked around the audience only to find him smiling genuinely at me. I breathe in and breathe out then I started playing.

I closed my eyes and thought that no one else is here but me. I played like I always used to. I picked the most beautiful piece for me, and I hope they will like it.

After few minutes, I heard applause as I ended playing. I opened my eyes, and I instantly saw the great 'your highness' smiling and applauding proudly for me. I smiled back at him for a few seconds and diverted my gaze to the other audiences as I bowed my head.

"That was pretty entertaining, my Princess." He complimented me when I got back on our table. I got greetings and compliments on my way here from the other guests. "I didn't know you have such talent."

I drank a glass of water before answering him. "That is because you never asked." I said, grinning.

"Well said. Remind me to ask you a load of questions once we get back." He instructed.

"Hell no." I hissed.

"The most beautiful violinist I know." Someone spoke from behind.

"You have the guts to go near my wife." He immediately perked up and walked in front of me, and he hides me from Philip. What a quick change of mood we have here?

"I just want to greet, Lili." Philip explained. "It's been five years since I heard and saw her playing her favorite instrument."

"Now that you were done complimenting my wife, you may leave." He said seriously. I noticed he keeps mentioning 'my wife'. It gives me creeps.

"Are you doing well, Lili?" Philip ignored him. "I will visit you more often; I already got permission from your father-in-law."

"What the fck are you blabbering about?" He yelled furiously as his eyes turned black. I hold him on his arm to calm him down, hopefully. "My father will never agree to that." He added.

"He just did. In exchange for what you did to me, the King, your father agreed to my request to see Lili." Philip said as he smirked.

"What are you saying, Philip? What he did to you?" I asked innocently. I have no idea what he was talking about.

"Why don't you ask your husband? However, I don't think he's ready to tell you everything yet." He answered. He tapped my shoulder, and walked away. I diverted my gaze to 'your highness'.

"Your highness?" I asked him. "Is there something that you need to tell me?"

He diverted his gaze. He still looks furious. "Not now, my Princess. Getting rid of him is my priority." He clenched his jaw as he muttered few profanities under his breath.

"But—"

"We're leaving now." He announced as he pulled my hands, and we stormed out of the ballroom.

I decided not to speak to avoid an argument with him. I understand why he reacted this way; he's being territorial over me. I noticed that when he keeps mentioning that I'm his wife in front of Philip. However, Philip's action is very foreign to me. It's the first time I saw him with that kind of attitude. I didn't understand why he keeps on pursuing me.

All he's doing will cause more trouble for both kingdoms. I should ask him to stop what he's doing. I'm married to this hot-temper-wolf-like man, and I have no plan of running away from him.
