The Surprise

      Ilona and Mason slept in late through the afternoon and into the evening.  It was only when their stomachs started growling with hunger again that Ilona stirred.  She stretched and felt Mason beside her.  A pleased smile curved her lips.

      Running her hand lightly over his chest, she was relieved to feel his skin was warm again as it should be.  She looked up at his bearded face and saw he was still sound asleep.

      Ilona carefully worked her way out of his arms and brushed her fingers through her hair, attempting to tame it.  Once she'd finished, she dressed and slipped back outside, careful to check the sky first.
