Tell Me

Ilona was stiff in the bed beside him.  Outside, the rain had finally lightened up, but the air was still cool.

Mason folded one leg up, the knee in the air and the blanket sliding down until it covered only his hips and other leg.  He hooked one arm behind his head, causing the muscles in it to swell.  Ilona kept her gaze on the blanket in front of her but felt uncomfortable now and annoyed.  She didn't know why he was doing this.

Mason watched her closely, waiting for some reaction.  However, all he got was her brows lowering and flashing anger in her eyes.

"Are you just going to ignore me then?" he asked, his voice smooth.

"Why should I pay any attention to you?" Ilona asked, "I'm nothing to you anymore."

Mason sighed loudly and ran his other hand over his face.  "I'm sorry I said that.  I was just angry.  You know I don't really want us to end."
