A Message
Ilona returned to her cabin, now with her Quarter Master on her heels. She knew he was likely going to be angry she had undermined him by releasing the men from the task he had assigned them. She had her argument already thought out however, and was ready to face him.
Taking her seat behind her desk, she waited as the greasy little man took a seat opposite her. His beady eyes took her in, lingering too long on her chest, as always. Ilona cleared her throat, and he let his gaze slowly drift back to her face, finding her frowning.
"What is it you need to talk about, Pierce?"
The older pirate cleared his throat, "I'm afraid I have a confession to make."
Ilona's chocolate eyes narrowed on him and waited for him to speak. She refused to give him the satisfaction of her asking for the information.
After a moment of waiting and realizing the woman wouldn't give in, Pierce Vane continued.
