I'm Not Proud.

"You're back," Dan observed when he raised his head from his laptop screen and saw Bella standing by the door.

"Yes, sir. We came back a while ago," Bella said with a bow and moved from foot to foot uncomfortably when she noticed the way he was scrutinizing her.

"This suit looks good on you. You picked it, or Turner did?" He asked thoughtfully.

"I did," Bella said as she angled her chin proudly.

"Really? That is good, then. I guess when next I'm shopping for clothes, you'd double as my shopping assistant," Dan said with a nod of approval, "What about your foot? Were you able to take care of it?" Dan asked with concern as he glanced at her feet.

Bella nodded her head, "Yes, I did," Bella said as she tried to think of a way to apologize to him. 'Just go ahead and do it. It's not a big deal,' Bella told herself over and over again.

"Is there a problem?" Dan asked when he saw that she was trying to say something.
