Chapter Two More Mana

"Hey wake up"

"Five more minutes"

"Ok"

5 minutes later~~~

"Wake up"

"Fine, " He said groggily

He focused on his dungeon and instantly saw some changes, the lizardmen had started by building some huts and the original lizardman had taken up the mantle of the chief.

"I think today I'll try some other types of monsters"

After focusing on the other types available to him he knew he could make ash wolves or fire sprites.

"Well fire seems like a bad idea on this floor so let's try ash wolves"

In the main room put two packs of 3-foot tall ash wolves with each having 8 members on opposite sides of the village.

" will the wolves reproduce or do I have to make more every time"

Kara had a creepy smile on her face as she brought up a system window for him, "so they will sacrifice a part of their own mana to make a pup which will take in mana from the dungeon to slowly grow"

This window showed three ash wolves throwing up clumps of wet ash into a pile.

"That's gross did you have to show me a video"

"Nope, " she said popping the p as she said so

"Let's make some caves for them to live in" He carved some caves with ten-foot-wide and ten-foot-high mouths for them to live in comfortably.

"There, now let's add some more lizard people to the village"

He put ten more of each gender to the village.

"Why did the last one take less mana than the others?"

"Well as you summon or evolve the same type of creatures it will take less mana to do so"

"Evolve?"

Kara facepalmed before saying, "I forgot to tell you didn't I"

Just as he opened his mouth she spoke again, "don't answer that, so when monsters collect enough mana they evolve into stronger monsters, though this doesn't apply to modifications or advancements"

He motioned for her to continue.

"When a monster evolves it goes up to the next tier and when it advances it goes up a level, modification is when you use mana to modify an already summoned creature"

"How do they advance"

"Well when they get a job they will advance to level 2 and after that, they will advance as they do tasks that follow their jobs, and as they advance their cores will take in more mana eventually building up to evolution.

" oh so I have to wait for every creature to evolve individually"

"Not quite as once one creature evolves you can summon more of that evolution and can push mana into a creature to get it to a known evolutionary path," Kara stated

"Well that makes it easier"

"Huh," he noticed 2 stronger mana sources in the village and went to look at it.

The first was a lizard man with a headdress made of colorful feathers and a necklace of bird skulls.

And the other was slightly more muscled and was holding a wooden club.

(Lizardman)

Job- Rookie Warrior

Tier- 1

Level- 2

"So that's what it looks like"

Then he focused on a basic lizardman.

(Lizardman)

Job- N/A

Tier- 1

Level- 1

"Guess I just need to leave it for now"

Next, he built a room at the end of the trap hallway and went to build another hallway but couldn't. He tried again but still wasn't able to.

"Hey Kara"

"Yes John"

"Im unable to make more rooms"

"You have reached the limit of the first floor"

"Limit? I thought mana did as I willed it, as you put it"

Kara looked embarrassed as she muttered, "Well umm"

He cut her muttering off with a question, "Why is there a limit to a floor"

"You want the technical reason"

"In second thought not really"

He changed the subject, "So how do I get a new floor"

"Well you can buy one in the floor menu for 1000 mana with each subsequent floor costing double the mana of the last"

"Well I only have 400 mana left so that's out till tomorrow, what's left to do on this floor"

"Well you need to make a floor boss"

"A floor boss?"

"Yes it's an upgraded version of a monster on the floor meant to serve as the final challenge of the floor"

"How do I make one"

"Focus on what you want the boss to look like and the mana will do the rest, on the other hand, you could take an already summoned monster and upgrade it as your boss.

"Ok so let me think"

Kara looked at him expectantly

"I think I got it"

He focused on what he wanted and as he did the first thing to change was the final room. The entrance turned into an iron Portcullis and the walls took on a darker hue, the ground got a dense layer of dark ash.

Then the form of a huge 5-foot tall wolf with 2 heads made of dark black ash appeared in the middle of the room.

[Name?]

He looked at the box and thought for a second before deciding.

Kara clapped, "Ohh I like it"

"You do?"

"Yeah, I thought you would make it a lizardman so I was surprised"

"I guess I could've"

"Didn't even cross your mind did it?"

"Maybe," he said sheepishly

He then noticed that two of the ash wolves had advanced.

(Ash Wolf)

Job- Alpha

Tier- 1

Level- 2

(Ash Wolf)

Job- Alpha

Tier- 1

Level- 2

"I Guess both packs have an alpha now"

"So what's left to do for this floor"

"Well not much except for moving your core into the boss room and put some monsters into the starting room"

It was a quick fix to move the core to the boss room and in the starting room, he put 2 ash wolves.

"So that's it"

"I think so, " Kara said thinking hard

"Ok well wake up when I have more mana"

"Okie Dokie"

The next day~~~

"Wake up"

"No"

"Ok"

"Wake up"

"Fine"

"So let's buy a new floor shall we"

(Floor)

-2nd Floor

Cost- 1000 Mana

As he purchased that, more screens appeared in front of him.

[New function unlocked]

(Custom Dungeon Entrance)

[Choose a reward]

(Floor Rules)

-Make floor wide rules that must be followed by all creatures both native or foreign while on the floor.

[Or]

(Dungeon instances)

-Use parallel dimensions to accommodate more intruders without overdrawing from a floor.

"Umm, Let me think"

Kara stated her opinion, "I think you should choose instances"

"Why?"

"It will allow for your smaller floors to take in more intruders without getting overwhelmed"

"Hmm, yeah I guess you're right"

He chose instances before putting his attention to the first message.

He could now see twenty feet out of the entrance of the dungeon. The visible area was full of ruined marble columns, some standing with others laying on the ground, along with the remains of old walls.

He started by widening the entrance to around 8 feet height and 6 feet in width and making cracked marble steps leading to the entrance of the dungeon. Then he made columns along the side of the steps starting short and growing with the height of the steps and making columns in the entryway to make it look as if they are holding up the entrance.

As he finished up the entrance he felt the weakness that comes with running out of mana.

"Well, that was fun"

He thought for a second and yawned, "Night Kara"

"Sleep well, John"
