Chapter 48

 The woman was wearing an expensive branded knee-length gown and her skin was very fair. Her long hair was let loose on her shoulders and her eyes were crystal clear.

 Compared to Ellen, she was taller. Ellen was not that short, her height was slightly below average.

 The woman's face was beautiful and it brought out a sense of pure elegance. Her every step was elegant.

 She glanced at Ellen with a courteous smile.

 " Hello, miss how can I help you? "

 Her voice was soft and melodious. The maid who had escorted Ellen stood behind her obediently.

 ' She must be the young mistress, she's pretty though. Seems nice to be rich. '

 Ellen removed the lollipop from her mouth.

 " I was a hired as a nurse for the old madam. "

 " Oh, you're a nurse? "

 Chen Yu, the young mistress of the Li family asked eyeing her up and down.

 ' A despicable soul in a pretty face. '

 Ellen never failed to notice the quick flash of disdain in her eyes and the sinister expression on her face that disappeared in a blink of an eye.

 " Yes, I'm a nurse. I'd like to see Mrs Li or the old madam. "

 Chen Yu gave her a slight gaze then her eyes brightened up.

 ' Now what on earth is she upto? ' Ellen wondered. Chen Yu's smiling face gave her an eerie feeling.

 " Miss, pardon my behavior but it's difficult to let a stranger into the Li mansion because of security reasons. Mom is not at home but grandma is in. Let me ask if you can see her, I'll send a maid to let you in. I hope you don't mind."

 She gave Ellen an innocent smile. Ellen chuckled and looked at her. " You don't have to worry about me, I don't mind the ways of the rich. "

 Chen Yu noticed her sarcasm and her face slightly turned ugly. She nodded at her stiffly and entered the mansion followed by the maid.

 Ellen walked towards a bench she had spotted few meters from where she was standing. She sat and started playing games on her phone.

 The cool breeze and fresh air in the atmosphere gave her a serene feeling. Ellen was a nature's lover. She felt that it was a good thing she accepted the job. The Li mansion's garden was really amazing.

 Two hours passed without Ellen noticing. She only remembered where she was when she saw the same maid Infront of her with an ugly expression. Damn, she almost thought she was in a park!

 " The old mistress won't see you, she's resting. Come back tomorrow early in the morning. "

 The maid said arrogantly and left. Ellen was stunned. She blinked her eyes in confusion. She had been too engrossed in the game that she failed to take note of the time.

 ' This Li family is so hospitable. '

 Ellen rolled her eyes. She had guessed the so called young mistress was upto something devious.

 She shrugged her shoulders and left. Anyway, she had a great time in that amazing garden. Besides, she was hired and paid a lot of money to do nothing, why would she complain? She would never return the money for anything. It was already hers.

 Ellen was nonchalantly blowing and bursting bubbles from the chewing gum that was retained from the inside of the lollipop once she finished it.

 She had never been a person who kept grudges or sought revenge. Once you terribly and intentionally wrong her, she'd beat the crap out of you, there and then.
