24.Little Sherry's accident

A young waiter in his early twenties served them an expensive red wine and left after taking their orders.

 Minutes later, he brought in their food and slowly placed it on the table. His hands were a bit clumsy leading him to accidentally knock on the woman's glass of wine which was on the table.

 All the glass content poured on the woman's lower half part of the white dress. Her eyes popped open and her body shivered due to the wine's coldness.

 Her clear eyes darkened and she hastily sprang on her feet knocking the table on the process.

 " Ouch!!"

 Her dress was already soaked on the lower part and huge bright red stains covered it all over. Some wine had even splashed on her chest area.

 She clenched her jaws hard and fiercely glared at the already trembling waiter. Her glare was as sharp as a knife.

 " Are you sick in the head?!! Are you tired of living?! "

Her body was trembling in anger and she looked like she'd crush the miserable waiter into pieces then throw him down the tall building.

 " I ... I'm sorry I didn't..."

 Piak! 

 " Shut your filthy mouth!! "

 The woman gave the waiter a resounding slap leaving a bright red handprint on his right cheek. She had totally forgone her pure and innocent mannerisms.

 The man seated opposite her glanced at them with cool disinterest. He sipped his wine slowly and elegantly. No word came out of his mouth when the woman was scolding and yelling at the poor waiter whose pale face had turned red.

 The waiter's heart was pounding hard as he apologized continuously. His face became pertified and his hands trembled when the manager furiously matched into the room. He knew the consequences of offending this VIP customers.

 " Wu Chan ! You have repeatedly done this three times in a span of two days. What happened to my warnings? Have you suddenly lost your competence? This was your third and last warning. You're fired! " He roared pointing at the waiter with his index finger.

 Wu Chan was ordered to carry the spoiled food out of the private room after his pleas fell on deaf ears. His was walking out of the door when the slim woman pushed him aside and furiously strutted to the washroom. Wu Chan's body swayed and his hands lost the grip on the tray he was holding. All the contents flew into the air.

 " Careful !! "

 " Watch out !! "

 Ellen was startled by the sudden scream and the loud crashing of the utensils on the floor.

 She was terrified when she saw two men embracing Sherry on the floor!!

 One man was hugging her while the other one in a waiter's uniform shielded them. She immediately understood what had happened when she saw food splattered all over the floor and on the men's clothes.

 " Sherry ! "

 She turned pale and her heart raced as she dashed towards them at a lightning speed.

 " Sherry ! "

 " Mommy !! "

 The little girl's senses snapped back when she heard her mother's scared voice.

 Her tiny face was pale and her eyes were wide open. She didn't know what had happened as she was calmly walking while counting her steps when all over sudden she heard people shouting.

 She lifted her eyes and was pertified when she saw food and plates flying towards her. Her eyes widened in shock and before she realized what was happening, an uncle from no where suddenly gave her a bone crushing hug. She was almost breathless.

 Sherry's cheeks reddened and her eyes filled up with water. She ran and buried her small face in Ellen's embrace.

 " Mommy ! "

 " Baby, calm down, baby's mommy's here. "

 Ellen spoke softly while stroking her back to calm the little girl down. She was really scared. Her small body was trembling and her tiny little fists were clenching Ellen's t-shirt tightly. The children had been brought up like porcelain dolls and hardly ever suffered any grievance thus what happened really scared the little girl. She had always lived like a little princess with people protecting her from every side.

 When Sherry was able to relax a bit, Ellen put her down and handed her over to Liam who was equally frightened. Liam pulled her hands and hugged her. The picture of the two little beings embracing each other was very heartwarming. The two men stared at them with gentle expressions. The little girl's face was slowly regaining color in her brother's embrace.
