19 Chapter 19: Sports Festival Part 4

"You can be my it gurl~..." Ren hummed as he shoved the cafeteria food down to his stomach, 'Man, if there's one thing I miss it's the music back in my world' He thought solemnly, missing his song playlist from his previous life.
"The hell are you saying? Speak up, bro!" Kirishima exclaimed beside Ren at his inaudible mumbling, "Anywhere, where's Bakugo?" He asked as he looked around.
"Followed Izuku and Todoroki" Ren answered monotonously, "Hm?" His eyebrows perked up when he looked up to see a line of girls in cheerleading outfits walking past them.
Turning his head, Ren saw Mineta looking at the cheerleaders with a perverse smile on his face before he whispered something in Kaminari's ear, causing them both to smile as they looked at the class 1-A girls.
"Oi, Ren~" Kaminari nudged Ren as he leant over to whisper in his ear, "You see those cheerleaders, huhhh?" He asked, to which Ren nodded, "Whaddya think?" Kaminari whispered as he winked in the direction of the girls.
Looking up at nothing, Ren closed his eyes as he pictured (Remembered) the girls of class 1-A in the cheerleader outfits...
"I like it" He responded with an All-Might-equivalent thumbs-up in support and a serious face, as if what he was saying was completely normal.
"Niceee~" Kaminari distanced himself from Ren as he sat back down, "If anyone asks, this was all Mineta's idea, right?" He clarified quickly as he whispered in his ear again, causing Ren to nod in agreement.
After Ren had finished eating, he left the cafeteria to head to the toilet. On the way there, he was surprised - not really - to see his third year friends coming up to him.
"Yoohoooo! Rennnn!" Nejire waved enthusiastically as she speed-walked to Ren, leaving the others a few metres from them, "Congratulations on making it to the finals!" She said with a cute smile.
"Thanks!" He thanked with a smile in return, "How was the view from the crowd? Did I look good, huh? Huh?" He asked as he put his fingers in the shape of an L and put it under his chin as a smug expression filled his face.
"Hmph!" Nejire pouted as she playfully hit Ren's shoulder causing him to chuckle, "Don't let getting first place get to your head, mister" She said as she put her hands on her waist, got close to him and looked up at him.
"..." The two were silent as they simply looked into each other's eyes for a while, entering a world of their own, until
"Eh-Em!" Yuyu faked a loud cough from the side, causing the two to snap out of it as their faces flushed a little, "How are you, Ren?" She asked, changing the topic as she sensed her best friend getting shy, which was rare especially for her.
"I'm good, how're you guys? Must be boring watching from the crowds" He asked them all.
"I hate it..." Tamaki mumbled as he covered half his body behind Mirio.
'At least there's some progress with Tamaki' Ren thought as heard Tamaki's response.
"Hahaha! It's awesome!" Mirio said energetically, "I love hearing all the cheers, the screaming! It reminds me of when we have our sports festival! It's a shame we have to wait until Wednesday for ours though, as third years" He looked down sadly.
"It's fine, buddy" Yuyu pat Mirio's back, "It's not like they've been cheering for you the last 2 years anyway" She said bluntly, causing Mirio to drop onto his knees in defeat.
"Ooo! Mirio's HP has hit 0! Winner: Yuyu Haya!" Nejire commentated like a referee as her, Yuyu and Ren broke into laughter.
"Poor Mirio, you guys are so cruel..." Tamaki murmured as he pat Mirio's defeated figure on his back whilst giving his condolences.
"Anyways, guys, I think it's time I go back. I think the break is about to be over soon, so it's best if I join back with the others" Ren suggested, causing the others to return to their normal states as they stood in front of him, "See ya guys!" He waved as he walked in the direction of the waiting room for his class.
"See you, Ren!/..." The four waved as they headed the opposite direction into the stands.

"BEFORE WE GET TO THE FINAL EVENT, I'VE GOT GOOD NEWS FOR ALL THOSE OUT OF THE RUNNING!
THIS IS STILL A SPORTS FESTIVAL, SO WE'VE PREPARED A RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS! WE EVEN SHIPPED IN CHEERLEADERS FROM AMERICA TO GET YOU PUMPED UP...
Eh...? What's this?" Present Mic announced as his voice broke into confusion as he looked down at the arena to see a bunch of students in cheerleading outfits, "CLASS A?! WHY!?"
The girls had looks of both anger and defeat as she wore the outfit and set of pompoms.
"MINETA! YOU TRICKED US!" The girls (All 1-A girls) shouted at the smug Mineta who stood beside Kaminari.
"HEY! IT WAS KAMINARI'S IDEA AS WELL!" Mineta argued, not wanting to be the sole person to go down.
"REN WAS ALSO INVOLVED!" Kaminari snitched as he looked at Ren who was all nonchalant.
"Huh? I've done nothing" Ren responded dryly with a dead look targeted at Kaminari alone which said 'Once we're alone, you're dead', causing Kaminari to shiver in fear.
"Hey, it could be fun y'know! Why not just go with it?!" Toru (Invisible girl) said enthusiastically as she shook the pompoms in her hand.
"You're enjoying this, Toru" Asui replied, nowhere near as enthusiastic.
"ONCE THE RECREATIONAL EVENTS ARE OVER, WE'RE ON TO THE FINAL EVENT! BETWEEN THE 14 STUDENTS OF THE 4 WINNING TEAMS... WE'LL HAVE A FORMAL TOURNAMENT!
A SERIOUS OF... ONE-ON-ONE BATTLESSSS!!" Present Mic announced, causing the crowd to erupt into a loud cheer.
And so, after Present Mic's announcement, Midnight stood on stage again with a box in her hand.
"The matchups will be decided by drawing lots. Once that's settled, we'll move on to the festivities, then the tournament" Midnight spoke, "It's up to you whether you top 14 want to participate in the festivities. After all, you might think it's best to save your energy for the fighting - it's up to you though- Huh?" Midnight suddenly paused as she put her hand up to her ear, "Uh huh... okay, no problem" She said as she put her hand back down.
"So, uh, it seems we have a problem with there being 14 people due to a miscalculation, so we'll be allowing 2 people from the fifth place team - Team Kendo - to enter the final to make it 16 contestants" Midnight announced with a sigh, as if fed up, "You guys decide" She said to the team of 1-B girls.
The 1-B girls stood next to each other and looked at one another.
"No thanks... I'm too tired" Reiko, the white-haired girl, mumbled.
"My quirks not really the best for fighting..." Kinoko Komori, a short girl with long brown hair, said in embarrassment.
"Sounds fun! I'm down!" Setsuna Tokage, a girl with green hair, said excitedly as she punched her palm.
"I'd like to give my spot to Tetsutetsu" Kendo said as she raised her hand, shocking her team and Tetsutetsu himself, "You gave it your all, I think you deserve it" She said to Tetsutetsu with a warm smile, causing him to cry manly tears in thankfulness.
"Awww, young love, how adorable..." Midnight teased, before her voice turned dark a little, "Makes me LOVE being a single lady at this age!" She muttered, getting off topic as the students and crowd looked at her in bewilderment.
'If you're single, we have no hope' Most of the single women/girls thought as they heard Midnight's rant.
"Anyway, hurry up and draw lots already" Midnight ordered.
After the 16 students put their hand in the box and drew their lots, these were the matchups:
1. Fumikage Tokoyami vs Shoto Todoroki
2. Izuku Midoriya vs Setsuna Tokage
3. Eijiro Kirishima vs Katsuki Bakugo
4. Tenya Ida vs Denki Kaminari
5. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu vs Momo Yaoyorozu
6. Hitoshi Shinso vs Hanta Sero
7. Ren Kiyotaka vs Mina Ashido
8. Mei Hatsume vs Ochaco Uraraka
(A/N: A wheel spinner decided these matchups)
With the matchups decided, Present Mic spoke up, "NOW LET'S SET ASIDE THE TOURNAMENT FOR THE TIME BEING... AND GET ON WITH THE THRILL-A-MINUTE FESTIVITIES!"
And so, there were many festival-type events such as class vs class dodgeball, 3-legged races, and a bunch more.
There was also a nice cheerleading segment, which was quite pleasing to the eyes of males.
'Wait, now that I think about it...' Ren squinted his eyes in realisation as he looked at Toru Hagakure's invisible figure dancing alongside the other class 1-A girls in their cheerleading outfits.
Making sure there were no cameras or anybody watching him, he switched from his [Six Eyes] to his [Truth-Seeing Eyes] and was stunned.
"Woah..." His mouth opened slightly as he was shocked to see Toru's invisible figure reveal a beautiful girl with green and pink hair, teal and yellow eyes which complement her charming, innocent-looking face as she had a big smile on her face while dancing.
After admiring the view long enough, Ren switched back to his [Six Eyes] to not get caught as he kept on participating in the fun events. He, unlike most of the 16 students moving on, decided to participate in the festivities.
And so, after a handful of events, it was time.
"THANKS, CEMENTOSS!" Present Mic thanked as Cementoss had finished constructing a fighting arena with his quirk, "HEY, GUYS. ARE YOU READY!?"
"YEAHHH, WOOO!" The crowd cheered, much to Present Mic's satisfaction, 'Ah... I love crowds that participate!' He cried in joy internally.
"YOU'VE BEEN THROUGH HELL TO GET HERE!! BUT NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE ONE-ON-ONE TOURNAMENT!
YOU'VE ONLY GOT YOURSELF TO RELY ON! EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT A HERO, THIS SAYING STAYS TRUE TO EVERYONE! SPIRIT, STRENGTH, TECHNIQUE, AND KNOWLEDGE! USE 'EM ALL AND SHOW US YOUR BEST!" Present Mic said in motivation as the top 16 students readied themselves for the fights.
"THE FIRST MATCH... THE QUIET AND MYSTERIOUS YET COOL, FUMIKAGE TOKOYAMI FROM THE HERO COURSE!! VS HIS FELLOW CLASSMATE, THE HANDSOME LADY-CHARMER, SHOTO TODOROKI!!" Present Mic announced as the crowd's cheers covered the surroundings for a few seconds before it was quiet enough for Present Mic to continue, "THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXCITEMENT, SPECTATORS... NOW, ON TO CEMENTOSS"
The attention switched to Cementoss who had created a chair for himself next to the arena, "The rules are simple" His voice was projected loud enough for everybody to hear, "Win by knocking your opponent out the ring, immobilizing them, or getting them to say 'I give up'! Anything goes for these matches, except for weapons - though none of you have any of those" He finished, causing Present Mic to speak up again as Tokoyami and Todoroki faced each other on either side of the arena.
"MAY THE MATCH...
BEGINNNNNN!!"
