1 Prologue

Alexandria Beatrice Monteverde is the only daughter of both very rich and famous people, Marzia and Adam Monteverde.

Her mother Marzia is a highly demanded international fashionista who has already walked on almost all of the runways ever built on the surface of the earth. Adam, on the other hand, does not like being in the spotlight. He is a businessman who owns his own massive and successful company. He is recognized as a bachelor but he often just shrugs it off his shoulders.

As fancy as Alexandria's parents sounded, this dreamy young lady was the exact opposite of her parents. She was not into socializing and outdoor activities. She did have interest for her father's business, but it wasn't what she truly liked to become in the future.

Alexa wanted to be a writer, publish her own books and sell them to the world. This seventeen-year old girl spent most of her precious and valuable time immersing in books of all sorts, reading the hours off the clock.

Of course, Marzia did not approve of this and would always push her daughter to be more like her which always upsets Alexa every time her mother tried. Adam didn't really care about fame or money, he was happy with his family and is very supportive of who and what Alexa wants to be soon in the future.

Inheriting her mother's impressive stature, this bookworm stood five feet and eight inches tall. This seemed to be average, but not for a lady who was in High School and aged 17 years old. It was all thanks to her mother's genetic traits.

Alexandria had wavy, ash brown hair, extending up to her waist. Her eyes as blue as the ocean, which she always hid behind her enormous glasses. She only had minor difficulties in seeing things from faraway because she had meiopeia or commonly known as near-sightedness.

She had a tall nose bridge with a perfect pointed tip as if that of a model's. Alexa also had the perfect set of white and healthy teeth. Her cheek bones were as prominent as her lips. She had pinkish plump lips that always attracted attention from almost anybody who sees her.

Alexandria is gorgeous and she doesn't even know. That's what makes her even more beautiful and admirable. Even when she's anti-social at some point, her schoolmates would still attempt to talk to her and actually engage in comfortable conversation with her. But only Stacy Garcia successfully earned Alexa's full trust. They were best friends.

Since middle school, these two have been inseparable. While Alexa was the nerd, Stacy was the outgoing one. She would never miss any party hosted by anybody at their school. She would sneak into night clubs with a bunch of other kids almost every Friday night. Stacy was the most free teenager Alexa had ever known.

Although Stacy tried convincing her best friend to be in on the fun, Alexa would always refuse and state that she will not be doing crazy stuff until she reaches eighteen. That is why Stacy is very excited for that day to come.

Standing next to a giant for almost five years now, Stacy couldn't help but compare herself to her best friend. She was five feet and four inches tall, four inches shorter than Alexa, and it didn't really bother her until High School.

Since they became High School students, Stacy became more and more anxious about her stature.

She envied Alexa, she would even admit it to her sometimes, but Alexa understood. It makes her feel uncomfortable when she's being complimented or just by being stared at. At some point, Stacy is glad that Alexandria was a certified nerd. That way, she'd still get all the boys. Well at least, that's what she thinks.

Everything was going smoothly until Prom. Their friendship took a nasty turn as Stacy discovers that her crush, Kyle, was madly in love with her best friend and not her. Alexandria gets confused as to why her bestie was acting really weird that night.

She wouldn't talk to her, listen to what she's saying or even face her upfront. Let alone that Alexa was only forced to go into that party because they both have been looking forward to it for the whole duration of the first half of the school year. She wanted to go home and read her books, but she was also worried about what Stacy would feel if she left.

That's when the most unexpected turn of events took place. Everybody was enjoying the food, the laughters and chatters all around them, the dance floor and the music. While the whole campus was immersed in late night fun, the groove suddenly stopped when the DJ cut the music.

Confused, Alexa looks around among all the other confused faces. It went quiet for about a minute or two, then everybody heard strums from a guitar. It was a frustrating time for Alexa to figure out where it was coming from.

But when the crowd started dispersing in front of her, as if forming a pathway, her heart skipped a beat. She had never felt that way before, not in seventeen years. It was no doubt that Alexandria was absolutely stunning that night. All eyes were on her.

As soon as the guy playing the instrument emerges from the crowd and walks into what seemed like an aisle towards Alexa, everyone started screaming and cheering and clapping like crazy. Alexa was nervous — not because she was being courted in the middle of a prom night, but because the guy who was playing that guitar was Stacy's long time crush.

Alexa looks around, desperately trying to find a familiar face; Stacy's face. She was expecting either a sad, teary-eyed Stacy or a very furious "I will kill you" Stacy. As she continued searching for her in the crowd, she hadn't noticed that Kyle was already in front of her, singing.

Alexa's cheeks turn red, or at least she felt like it. It heated up pretty quick as Kyle finished his song that was dedicated to her. But she was glad because she knew the disco lights prevented her true colors from showing.

Kyle handed the guitar to one of his friends and the other handed him a beautiful, red rose. He was about to say something when somebody from the crowd suddenly shouted the word,

"Traitor!"
