The Player's Proposal

Percy Jackson is the player of Goode High. He has purely sexual relationships with girls and dumps them before they can get too close. He's considered a heart-breaker, and he's fine with that. After all, this title is better than everyone finding out his secrets. Annabeth Chase is a fighter. Even while dealing with personal stressors of her own, she is strong and always stands up for her friends. Her passion and pride lead to a confrontation with Percy Jackson. During their heated argument, Percy jokingly offers a proposal. However, Annabeth always despised Percy, so she jumps at the chance to serve some payback. The proposal is simple: Percy cannot have sex for three months (other conditions applied).

The Drama

Annabeth POV

It's kind of embarrassing to have to correct your teacher. However, Ms. Dodds was being incredibly stupid about how she was solving the Calculus questions. She tried the question three times and failed to get the right answer.

As I finished the integral on the board, Ms. Dodds glared at me. Her raging eyes burned into my back, but I didn't care.

"Ms. Chase, nobody likes a know-it-all. DETENTION," Ms. Dodds commanded.

"But, I didn't do anything wrong. I simply solved the problem that you were struggling with," I snapped back.

I was literally helping her with something that she should be able to do. It wasn't my fault that she couldn't do her job. The others students stared at me with wide eyes. They couldn't believe that I was fighting with Ms. Dodds, who held the reputation for being the meanest teacher at Good High School.

My friend's gaze bore into me. Piper was quietly telling me to stop talking and come back to my seat. However, I was smart and strong. I wasn't going to accept defeat that easily.

"I don't care, Ms. Chase. You will serve detention today, and that's final. Now, go back to your seat before I extend the punishment," she barked. Her old, wrinkly face constricted as she growled.

Old hag, I thought as I walked back to my seat.

I carefully maneuvered my way through the rows of desks before sitting next to Piper. Ms. Dodds continued her lesson. Much to my disappointment, she continued to make mistakes.

However, I restrained myself from speaking up. As much as I wanted to, I didn't want another detention.

Gods, this would be my first detention ever, which only sparked my anger. I didn't deserve it, and it was really pissing me off. If I wasn't at school, my pride would've skyrocketed to the point where I would be freely cursing at Ms. Dodds.

"I'm so sorry, Annabeth. The old cow is awful once again," Piper whispered.

I sighed. Piper was always supportive of her friends, and we all appreciated it. "It's all right, Piper. It wasn't your fault or anything. I'm just disappointed."

"My sister told me some interesting news. Gods, we're in for a bunch of drama during lunch," Piper expressed.

Before I could clarify her words, the bell rang loudly. Time for lunch. I guess that I'll just find out what's going on.

The hallway was packed with students as Piper and I maneuvered our way through Goode High's hallways. I was pushed a few times and almost fell over once. The high school hallways sucked.

Whoever designed our high school sucked.

Modestly speaking, I could do so much better with designing the architecture of Goode High. I had already designed another floor plan for my school. Designing buildings and monuments was something that I loved doing in my free time.

After all, I aspire to be an architect.

"Annabeth, I need to stop by my locker," Piper acknowledged.

Her boyfriend, Jason, was waiting in front of her locker with his buddies (Leo, Frank, and the Stolls). They shared a quick kiss as his friends whistled and teased.

"Ugh, grow up guys," I countered at them jokingly.

Jason and Piper were very cute together, and I was happy for them. I liked Jason a lot. However, he did have one downside: his choice of friends (specifically, one friend).

I hated Percy Jackson.

He was an all-around player, who simply dated and dumped random girls. To him, everything was about sex and nothing else. He even tried to pick me up once. Automatic reject.

Speaking of, I watched as Percy walked through the school like he owned the place. He winked and smirked at the girls as he passed through the hallway.

He was a pig. He was currently dating someone (one of my friends might I add), yet he was flirting with all these girls.

"Hey, bro, I'm starving," Percy exclaimed as he patted Jason's back. "Let's go to lunch."

I rolled my eyes before crossing my arms.

"Don't think that I didn't see that, Jackson," I scolded angrily.

It was at that moment that he turned towards me. Once again, I was caught slightly off guard by his looks. Percy had tan skin, raven black hair, and a toned body. He was fit and athletic. The whole student body (girls and guys) would say that he's hot.

They wouldn't be lying either.

His piercing sea-green eyes twinkled as they gazed at me. His eyes were the most significant part of his outer appearance.

Sure, he was attractive, but I hated him regardless.

"See what, Annabeth?" he asked while smirking. His eyes sparkled with mischief. "Don't tell me that you were checking me out again."

"Gross, keep dreaming," I countered.

"Oh, I bet that I show up in your dreams," he paused. "Naked."

My glare intensified as I resisted the urge to punch him. I wanted to knock the stupid smile off of his stupid face. His friends were chuckling behind him. Even Piper was smiling but trying not to.

While most people would be scared of my glare, Percy had the nerve to laugh, which only fanned my frustration.

Then, he stepped closer. He was only a foot away from me, but I didn't back down.

"Gods, you're a dick," I exclaimed harshly.

"Do you like dicks?" Percy asked. "If you want, you can touch mine. I don't mind," he whispered sensually.

"Oh my god. Get away from me, you ass," I snapped before turning around. I stormed away quickly, yet Percy still managed to get the final word.

"Thanks for giving me a pleasant view of your ass while walking away," he called loudly.

His annoying laughter rang in my ears.

I huffed in frustration. He could so easily rile me up. My hands clenched into fists as I walked into the cafeteria. Thalia was waiting for me at our lunch table. My friends always sat at the same table near the left side of the cafeteria.

I scowled as I sat next to my best friend. She easily picked up on my annoyance.

"Woah, Annie, is everything all right?" Thalia asked.

"Don't call me Annie," I snapped. "Yeah, everything's fine. I just hate Percy Jackson. That arrogant, thick-headed pig."

"Well, you're gonna hate him even more after I tell you the news."

"What news?" I asked in curiosity.

Even Piper wanted to tell me something in class.

Thalia seemed angry as she watched Percy walk into the cafeteria. Of course, he and his friends sat at a different table. No way in hell would I sit with him for lunch. Thalia hated Percy as much as (if not more than) I did. Yet another reason why we were best friends.

"He broke up with Rachel. He dumped her last night over the phone."

"I'm honestly not even surprised with that jerk," I expressed. Thalia nodded in agreement as we watched Hazel and Rachel slowly walk over.

Hazel was doing her best to help Rachel, who was an absolute mess. Tears were on her cheeks as she passed Percy's table. While I sympathized with Rachel, I didn't understand why she dated him in the first place.

Rachel got closer to him for no reason. She knew that he was trouble, yet she liked him.

"Why is she such a mess? She should've known this was coming eventually. Besides, they were only together for three weeks," Thalia said in surprise.

"Connecting with someone can take just three seconds," Silena's melodious voice resonated. She paused at our table with her lunch tray in hand.

I always liked Silena Beauregard. She was a grade above us and would be graduating this year. She was beautiful and seemed to know so much about love and relationships. She spoke about love and romance like a philosopher would.

"Silena, she connected with Percy without him even showing any care or affection. That doesn't make sense," I acknowledged.

"Percy makes it pretty clear what he wants from his relationships. He never leads them on or shows them romantic feelings. For him, it's only a physical relationship. However, that doesn't always stop the girls from growing feelings and building an illusion in their minds," Silena explained.

"I suppose that you're right, Silena," Thalia said.

Silena was right as she usually was about relationships. As far as I knew, Percy never expressed any ideas about love or feelings. He was pretty clear about only wanting a physical relationship.

His reputation as the player of Goode High also supported this idea.

"Sil, what's taking so long over here?" Clarisse asked loudly as she approached. Her eyes scanned us before looking at Rachel and Hazel.

They had just arrived and were pulling out their lunches.

Clarisse simply rolled her eyes and turned back to me and Thalia. Clarisse was a tough cookie, and she hated all the drama, tears, and bull shit.

"Right, the reason that I came was to formally invite ya'll to my party."

"Yeah, it's next Saturday. You should come Princess, and you can bring your friends as well," Clarisse finished quickly.

"I'm not a princess, Clarisse," I sighed.

She simply smirked before walking away with Silena. Since they were a grade above us, they had their own friends. However, Silena and Piper were sisters, so we were pretty close to them as well.

I took a deep breath before turning towards Rachel.

"Hey, Rachel, are you okay?" Thalia asked cautiously. "Please calm down."

"I can't believe he dumped me. Over text, no less. Now, he's back to flirting with others girls as if I'm nothing," Rachel expressed sadly.

"Rachel, you're not nothing. Percy is just a player," I said firmly.

You shouldn't have gotten attached to him, I thought. Of course, I wasn't going to say that right now. The rest of lunch consisted of us trying to console Rachel. Nico and Will decided not to sit with us today because of all the drama.

I didn't blame them. I also wanted to leave the table sometimes. Thalia was smark about leaving. She took an extra-long 'bathroom break.'

Regardless, I was grateful when lunch and school finally ended.

However, I had to serve detention.

I didn't bother telling Helen that I'd be late coming home. My stepmother wouldn't care. She trusted me enough to give me my independence. Besides, she understood that she wasn't my real mom, so I didn't have to share everything with her.

Besides, my dad doesn't even care, so I don't expect Helen to care either.

My dad was always away on business. Ever since my mom died, he immersed himself in his work. Even after marrying Helen and having my half brothers, work consumed his life.

My dad didn't know much about me. For instance, he bought me a sparkly pink sundress for my birthday last year. One, I don't wear dresses much. Two, sparkly pink, really?

While I wished that I could spend more time with my dad, I was used to it.

The start of detention was boring. As soon as I walked into the classroom, I noticed that no one was there except the supervising teacher. He simply told me to do my homework. Then, he left the room.

I sighed as I pulled out my Calculus homework. At least, I could finish my work.

It was peaceful in the classroom. I greatly appreciated the quiet. Of course, the peace and quiet were gone in a second.

I silently cursed as Percy Jackson strutted into the room.

I was still fuming about our earlier interaction and Rachel's breakup. Percy smirked once he saw me and slowly approached.

Just my freaking luck.
