66 The Promotion

"I knew wearing this blazer was a mistake," who wore a polyester blazer in ninety degree heat? Not even the air conditioning inside Greene Marks could cool down the incessant sweating in my armpits. "Seventh-two hour protection my ass," I was never using natural deodorant again, I didn't care if the aluminium in other antiperspirants clogged my arteries, I was going to die anyway. 

"Good morning, Mrs. Greene," the receptionist on the ground floor greeted me pleasantly with a bright smile. I smiled back and waved at her on my way to the elevator, already regretting not having gone to my favourite coffee shop to get a cup of my go-to latte. It was becoming clearer each day that I needed to download their app so I could order in advance, otherwise I would either waste my time or just have a bad day, and I was unwilling to settle for either.
