79 The Arrival

(Jason's POV)

My heart raced at the thought of finally seeing my wife after three weeks of being away from her. It was hard to believe it had almost been a month already, and my arms—among other things—ached to have her pressed close to me.

Amaria was like ambrosia to me, and I wanted to get fat because I couldn't eat enough. Did I love her? Yes. Immensely. I knew she didn't believe me when I told her that, but it didn't matter. As long as she allowed me to fall asleep and wake up next to her, I was happy. She would come around at some point, and that was all I cared about.

The luggage claim was taking forever to give me back my bags. Their carousel was moving uncharacteristically slow and the bags were coming out so slowly until the machine just stopped altogether. "Are you kidding me?"

I would have to sue this airport and make them fix it. There was no reason why it should take so long to just give eager passengers their bags.
