22: Their Dinner Date
Hours in daylight came passing and ICE was indeed preoccupied with paperwork and meetings which left Sabrina absorbed with books. She already finished two thick books within the whole day but as soon as the clock hits 5:30 in the afternoon, Sabrina checked on ICE.
"Caine, what time you'll be finishing?" Sabrina asked ICE while checking the reports from her email through her tablet.
"In an hour, why? Are you done with my books?" ICE responded while busy typing on her computer without glancing at her lady lover.
"Nothing, I just two and three hotel works were almost done." She sighed before cracking her neck and stretching her fingertips.
"Finish it and by then, we'll head out for dinner." ICE glanced at her and smile.
"Okay, babe." Sabrina smiled back at her as she start doing her remaining hotel work again.
"Want some tea?" ICE wondered.
"Pleasure." Sabrina nodded as she replied but her focus was on her tablet. ICE nodded.
"Joan, two Camomile mint tea, please, and thank you." ICE pressed her intercom phone to ask Joan for a couple of teas.
The silence went back around the room since both of them were preoccupied with their own tasks around their businesses. They didn't even notice Joan putting their teas on their table until she speaks to ICE.
"Boss, here's the record from the last sale from businesses around our hotel. Also, here are the updates from our non-star hotels around the area." Joan handed to ICE the file from the sale department and five files from their non-star hotels in the area. ICE took the files and quickly scanned them.
"Okay, is there anything else for today?" ICE wondered while still checking the files Joan gave to her.
"Nothing, boss. You're free till 9 in the morning." Joan checked ICE's schedule at night.
"9? Do I still have a meeting at that time?" ICE stopped scanning and wondered what she meant about it.
"Monthly update reports only, boss." Joan answered and ICE nodded as she recalled the day tomorrow. It was the last day of the month which made them have a meeting regarding the updates or issues around the hotel.
"Anything else after that?" ICE wondered.
"Nothing urgent business as for now. I will notify you when something urgent came out." Joan answered as she stood firmly before her.
"Only for urgent. I'll be with Ms. Marques tomorrow onwards after my meeting with everyone." ICE nodded and informed her about her whereabouts. Joan noted it down while she nodded in agreement.
"Understood, boss. Excuse me then." Joan excused herself and ICE waved her hand to let her be dismissed.
Once Joan left the office, ICE went on to check the files that were handed to her. She checked them carefully before putting some marks and inserting a note regarding that matter. When she was done with it, she began settling things from her table before turning off the computer itself.
"Do you need my help, my lovely lady?" ICE asked her busy lady on the couch while she check what she was doing.
"No, I'm almost done. I just need to send this to my secretary." Sabrina shook her head and finished her remaining tea before finishing her work.
"Okay, I'll book us a dinner." ICE nodded in understanding but Sabrina reached her hand to stop it even though she was not looking at all.
"Can we do street foods? I miss that." Sabrina suggested while her eyes were still focused on her work.
"Okay, what cuisine do you prefer?" ICE wondered.
"How about Asians?" Sabrina paused a moment to think before she answered. ICE smiled while nodding.
"I'm good with it. I'll check the place and tell me when you're done." ICE began checking her phone while Sabrina nodded and finished her almost-done email.
Five minutes before the clock hits six in the evening, Sabrina finally hit the sent button and felt relief already. She was done with her work when she nudged ICE's side who stopped searching from her phone.
"I'm done." Sabrina informed her and ICE smiled at her.
"I know. I'm just waiting for you to settle things before we go out." ICE commented with her teasing smirk which made Sabrina pout but when on fixing her things back to her bag.
ICE secretly glanced at Sabrina and smirked to herself because she found her lady lover so cute while mumbling to herself about her teasing mode. When Sabrina was done, ICE stole a kiss from Sabrina's cheek before she quickly get up from the couch.
"YAH! Why did you do that? Stealing is a crime." Sabrina was blushing at the sudden gesture that ICE just did to her cheek.
"It's not a crime when you're loving it." ICE wiggled her eyebrows which made Sabrina roll her eyes while her cheeks were still in flame. ICE chuckled sweetly over her reaction.
"Whatever, carry my things, and let's go. I'm starting to get hungry." Sabrina tried to be pissed but she was failing due to her heated cheeks and slight grin at the corner of her lips.
"I'll lead the way to our dating venue." ICE offered while her sweet smile toward her lady lover was still doing its effect on making Sabrina blushed more.
"D-date?!" Sabrina's heartbeat went fast upon hearing it. It almost froze her on her spot as soon as the elevator opened for them.
"Yeah, sounds right?" ICE winked teasingly at her and Sabrina glared but totally failed. ICE really knows how to make her feel shy and nervous at the same time.
"W-whatever. Let's go." Sabrina waved it off and went in the lift first while trying to be sulking yet ICE was still wearing her smile - grin to be exact. She loves teasing Sabrina whenever it comes to that kind of thing - sweet things.
There was no conversation that could be heard on their car ride toward their destination. The only noise in the car was the music playing in the stereo. It was just a ten-minute drive from a private car when they reached the street food district not far from the DEMar Hotel. ICE parked the car near the ice cream parlor before opening the passenger seat for Sabrina.
"I have never been in this district before." Sabrina reacted in awe since every corner of the district was filled with different foods which low-budgeted people were willing to spend dinner here.
"Well, I just learned about it two years ago. I only come here each end of the month." ICE informed her while they started walking on the street side.
"Why?" she wondered.
"I don't know. Maybe just like. I miss this. I miss doing this with you." ICE shrugged her shoulders but Sabrina noticed the longing in her eyes.
"Ohh…" Sabrina only reacted shyly. Her heart was totally ringing in her ears. She loves feeling it again. Night stroll on the street with ICE again. She missed them a lot.
"Shall we to my favorite eatery?" ICE cut that discussion and asked.
"Lead the way since I'm not familiar with this district." Sabrina nodded and ushered her to lead where it was.
"Sure. Let's go then." ICE grinned and took Sabrina's hand before leading the way to the eatery with a nice view of the fireworks display near the shore.
They walked for five minutes from where they parked their car and when they made it it was packed but still breathable one. ICE guided Sabrina to take a seat on a vacant table first before she went on buying her favorite Asian foods. It took ICE another five to twenty minutes before she could return to their table. But ICE's happy expression turned gloomy when four men tried their best to make Sabrina speaks to them.
"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY WOMAN YOU JERKS." ICE firmly said in her irritated voice and Sabrina sighed because she knew that with one wrong move from those guys, there was going to be a streetfight around there.
"Sorry, we're just talking to her." one guy answered in a polite manner. ICE nodded in understanding to that man.
"She doesn't like to speak to strangers. So leave before I kick your dicks out of our table." ICE calmly told him.
"As if you can." but the other guy with him was not so friendly to ICE's hearing. Sabrina sensed it too. Their polite friend tried to pull them away from their table but the rest were persistent.
"Oh trust me, when it comes to my lover, I'll be the demon you'll ever meet. So back off to the things that don't belongs to you." ICE coldly said that made them shiver and piss the three guys off while the polite guy sighed and leave them be. He obviously didn't want to be caught in a fight like his friends were looking for.
"You're getting on my nerves." another guy speaks while grinning. ICE was about to say something when Sabrina sighed and slammed her hand on the table. She was totally annoyed and hungry.
"Hubby, are you done with them? I'm already starving here." Sabrina addressed ICE in sweet endearment and ICE put their food on the table before kissing her head.
"Oh sorry, wifey. They're being douchebags around us." ICE smiled lovingly at Sabrina while being irritated by the three guys across them.
They were about to speak when Sabrina put her arms around ICE's waist and let her lips kiss her neck. She sucked it to be exact making ICE moaned a little. Three guys were left dumbfounded at what Sabrina just did to ICE. Even if it was just an act to shoo them away, ICE loves it.
"Leave them be. Just call our bodyguards in the area or the marshall who's working for us." Sabrina sweetly smiled at ICE. ICE's eyes widened in excitement and grinned.
"Oh, that marshall? I miss shooting guns with her. The last time we did that, honey, she was still in the military. I miss doing it with her again." ICE grinned and Sabrina noticed the three guys already left their table.
"And they're gone, hubby. Let's eat." Sabrina told ICE and started eating her portion.
"If that's the only way to make them leave, we should already call for her help." ICE sighed but she smile when she saw Sabrina's expression when she took a bite from stir-fried rice kimchi and dumpling. She loves the taste of it.
"Well, I'd rather not." Sabrina said as she spoon feed ICE of the food that she like.
"Why is that?" ICE wondered while munching the food.
"It's our date and I don't want to have a chaperone." Sabrina took another bite while she answered.
"But things like that could happen while I'm buying something for you." ICE reasoned when she started eating the same rice and grilled milkfish with onion and tomato stuck inside.
"Don't worry, I still know how to do martial arts." Sabrina smiled as ICE gave her a slice of her food and Sabrina likes it as well.
