What am I going to do

The night had passed away rather quickly and for the first time in a long time, Xander didn't go out for beast hunting. It made him sad as he wasn't receiving more stats and it seemed as if the only way was to fight people, win and get stronger.

Xander had also asked kelvin if anything strange had happened when they were in trouble with the boys who attacked them, but kelvin just shook his head and instantly changed the topic which made Xander suspicious.

But Xander had more things to focus in as he was now in a battle with a kid with the earth ability, and Xander was wearing a mask so as not to draw attention to himself.

Xander also made sure that the boy had the earth ability since it was the easiest to deal with for him, or at least the people he had fought didn't use the ability to a level where he would have been afraid of it.

But just as the fight was about to begin a message from the system appeared.

[The system has decided not to reward you during the period of time that the host is yet to complete his quest]

[The system has added an additional reward to the quest]

[Quest reward:?????]

Xander had a huge vein on the left side of his head and he was visably angry, and not only was the quest going to start again if he lost a fight.

The fact that he was not going to the receive any stats for the next ninety one days made it worse.

Xander was still so fixed in his thoughts that he didn't notice that an earth ball was heading his ribs, and he was sure that at least one of his ribs had cracked.

But even at that he was happy that he had evolved and unlike before that attack would have shattered a few of his bones.

But all in all he had not started the quest just because the system told him to hell no, he had started it to also improve his martial arts skills and master his other weapons.

But first of all he planned to improve his hand to hand compact since he like the steel claws more than the other weapons.

He took his stance with both if his hands in front of his head and this was so that he would be able to block attacks to his head.

His right leg was a step away from his left leg and he was standing with his right toes while his right heel was above the ground.

His left leg was there and it was used mainly for defending while the right leg was used to deliver devastating attacks.

The stance and his way of fighting was all taught to him by his mother.

It looked like the stance taken by most jeet kune do martial artist, but he blended it somewhat stronger.

And with his current agility strength stamina endurance and mind there was no way he would not be able to win the fight.

Just them another message from the system and Xander was sure that the system really wanted to kill him.

[The stats of everyone of your opponent will be temporarily increased by 10 when fighting against you]

"Go to hell", Xander unknowingly screamed out in frustration and others who heard him though that it was because he was angry that he didn't have an ability.

Xander was left utterly frustrated at the system's decision, I mean come on it was good and everything but it seemed as though the system's new quest was to kill him.

But either way he was going to win.

He waited and when the boy saw that Xander want going to charge in he ran towards Xander like a bull that had seen a red object.

He created six earth spikes and fired the first one by punching only a few inches away from it and the spikes was flying towards Xander's stomach.

But the latter lifted his left leg just in time to take it head and it pushed him backwards but due to his stance he was able to hold his own well against his opponent.

Two more earth spikes came his way and the first one was heading towards his head while the second was towards his chest.

'Damn it, why is this guy so hell-bent in hitting my upper body', Xander thought inwardly.

And he did the only thing was reasonably at that point, he fell on the floor and he heard a student groan from behind them and it was obvious that his opponent's attack had hit someone.

But still his opponent fired the remaining earth spikes and Xander was just a bit slow as one of them hit his thigh, and the other hit his right shoulder and the last one missed him by an inch but it still grazed his skin a bit.

'What am I going to do, unless I have a healing ability it would have been understandable or any ability for that matter

But if I suddenly keep fighting then it would show that am not an ordinary human, what am I going to do', Xander thought inwardly.
