*LIJUAN'S POV

The night seemed longer than usual. Cold air made the leaves move up and down. No. Something was bothering me. Chaoxing. His sister had just died yet he had not mourned her at all. I was extremely worried when General Peng had informed me about Chaoxing's behavior.

And today, he had chased me out of his room. He was acting weird. Turning again, I turn to face Fengwu who was sleeping in my bed. We had never slept together as a man and wife since I became empress. And he wouldn't even be here if Chaoxing hadn't arranged for us to stay in the same courtyard.

Fengwu may have been evil to the world but he had been so kind to me. And even though I had made a mistake, he had forgiven me. Fengwu turns in his sleep then wakes up while I am starring at him.

"Juan'er, what is it? You can't sleep?" Fengwu asked and I sit up trying to arrange my hair.

"I can't. I'm sorry I woke you up. Just go back to sleep." I said and Fengwu sits up too.
