8. Request and Mariel's arrival

"You sent for me father" Penelope, on getting to the tower said. "Yes I did. Remember when I told you that we will need other people on the special team and that you will help?" he asked her, still looking out the window. "Yes father, I remember" she replied. "Well, we need that help now. There's a new kid arriving today. He name is Mariel Chen, I need you to persuade and convince him to join the elite protection team. And I want you to give it your all, if he falls in love with you it will be even better" the man said and she nodded. "I understand" she said as she walked away.

Women in this world were mostly used as a negotiation item or exchange tool. Penelope and vera has been tasked to persuade two people to join a special team of gifted people that will escorts for powerful and influential people in the world.

*Boom*

A loud booming sound as a portal opened above the island. "we've finally arrived" Mariel said as he surveyed the island from above. The pilot flew straight to a parking space in front of the academy and landed. The people and students passing we're looking at the jet in awe.

Mariel got off the jet and then he felt pressure on his shoulders. He shivered as he has felt this pressure before, it was coming from the spear the night before. He turned and he saw that the pressure was coming from the tall tower close to solace academy.

On entering the school, he went to the receptionist and showed her his interview request. "Mariel Chen, yes, your interview will start soon" the lady said. He looked at his phone. [2 minutes till interview]. He walked towards the waiting area and sat. (I'm finally here, but I feel so uneasy now) he thought. (Hey Levi!). {What?} Levi asked. (You said that you have a teleportation skill that you can teach me, tell me about it) he said. {It's called mighty step, it is a very hard skill to learn, but with my help, you can learn it in a week.}. "Thanks" he muttered.

"Mariel chen. please go interviewing room" a speaker resounded through the hallway. He stood up and went to the door opposite of where he was sitting. He opened the door and went inside.

Inside the room there was a man with black hair and a scar on his left eye that will make someone shiver in fear. "You are Mariel right" the man said with a thick voice. "Yes sir" Mariel said. "You are going to be sharing your dorm house with two other new students." the man said and Mariel furrowed his brows. "But why?" Mariel said, he obviously don't want to share a place with people. "The population of new students this year is very large and the dorms would not be enough if we give students one each. The dorm you will be sharing is a high rank dorm, lower rank dorms would be shared by eight people" the man said. Mariel nodded in understanding. "Good, here is your uniform, red like you asked, these are beginners textbooks and this is the school's system ring." the man gave Mariel a red plated ring with a single rune on it. "The ring has a storage dimensions but it is very small. This ring has the map of the school and current news will be available on the ring" the man explained. "Soo..., how do I use it?" Mariel asked. "Simply tap on the ring and the screen will come up" the man said. Mariel tapped on it and on it different icons were displayed like map, status, news and more. "Ok, thanks" he then took out a gold card from the ring and on it read '59'. He directed his mana on the ring to check out his inventory, "The space is not big but it's enough" he then used the map to locate the dorms. "This should be the low level area" he said as he was in a place with buildings on both sides of the road, there wasn't much space between them. "The high level side should have taller buildings" he then used the map to direct himself and in no time he found his dorm building. Compared to the low level area the high level area was very beautiful with adequate space between the buildings and the buildings were tall and judging by the height, it should have 8 floors. He made his way into the elevator and he looked at the side [Floor 1- 1>10 Floor 2- 11>20

Floor 3- 21>30 Floor 4- 31>40

Floor 5- 41>50 Floor 6- 51>60

Floor 7- 61>70 Floor 8- 71>80]

(My dorm should be on the sixth floor...then) he then went up the sixth floor and located his dorm.

*beep*

The door made a beeping sound as he swiped his card on the card reader beside the door and it opened.

On entering the dorm he was met with a seemingly big living room and a section leading to the kitchen from the dining. (Let's check this place out) he then walked to the kitchen and was disappointed as the school doesn't have an auto cooker. "Wait a minute, does this mean I'll have to cook my own food" as a child from a rich home he has never cooked before. Moving on he walked to the passageway in the parlor and he saw four doors, on one of them there was a bathroom label. (The remaining doors should be the rooms) he thought as he walked towards the door opposite the bathroom, when he opened the door he saw various gym equipment and a workout section including a strength and speed testing device. He closed the door and walked forward in the corridor and opened the next door, when he opened it he saw that the walls of the room were glittering white like diamonds, there were screens by the left.

[Magic testing room - Able to withstand attacks up to the grandmaster rank, calculates the strength and power of magic attacks]. After he read it his eyes widened in shock. "huh!!.. wait a minute if these doors are not rooms then..., no, don't tell me I have to share rooms " he was silently praying as he walked to the last door. (Please), he opened it and his mouth dropped.
