5. Magic crystal

After they measured him Mary was just coming downstairs with something behind her.

"Marie, I want you to have something" Mary said as she brought out a rectangular red box from behind him and handed it to him.

"What's in it?" he asked curiously.

"Open it and see" Mary said as she went to sit on a couch. Mariel then opened the case and saw a kite shaped Crystal and a sword in a sheath. The sword's sheath looked really ancient as the design was unique.

The elders were starting at the contents of the box with wide eyes as they all knew what the contents were. "This is...?" they couldn't believe what they were seeing.

"This originally belonged to your grandfather, the Crystal was made to make him comprehend his abilities and grow quickly and this sword is a treasure from the moonlight phoenix given to your father after earning the title of 'sword master' " Mary explained.

"Moonlight phoenix?. She still exists?" an elder asked in surprise.

"Yes" the golden haired elder answered. "Seems familiar?" Mary asked Mariel who has been looking at the Crystal in a daze.

"Mariel!".

"Yes!" , he answered.

"This Crystal is capable of analysing your powers and it taught us to control our abilities, at least that's what is recorded in our books" an elder explained.

"It also helps a person to advance quickly." "Soo..,what do I do now?" Mariel asked.

"Drop your blood on it. It may or may not Bond with you" the elder said.

After the elder said that, Mariel used a pin to poke his finger and let a drop of blood fall on the Crystal. Thinking about it now he has been poking his finger too much lately.

After that the Crystal started shaking violently as it's colour changed from red to purple. "What happened?" Mariel asked looking confused.

"Do you feel anything?".

"No!" he replied.

In the next second, the Crystal started glowing and floated towards Mariel and entered his body at high speed.. "AHHHHHH" Mariel shouted as the Crystal pierced his chest. His eyes shone as it felt like a bullet passed through him.

"What happened?" Mary asked.

"I...I don't know" the elder replied.

As the elders were contemplating Mariel was on his knees staring at the floor. He saw himself standing beside two other people and they were in front of a large army seemingly with their own army. "CHARGE!!" a boy by his side shouted and the army behind them charged forward to battle.

He then saw someone that looked like him, brought out a sword and started fighting the war.

(What did I just see).

{The future} another voice resounded in his head.

(Who are you?)

{My name is Levi, I am the consciousness within the Crystal that you just bonded with} the voice replied. "What the fuck!!" Mariel mumbled. (can you hear my thoughts?) Mariel asked . {If I couldn't how have we been communicating since?} Levi replied.

{Stop!, you want to ask if they can hear me too. The answer is No they can't. I can only talk to the one that I'm bonded.} Levi said.

(Just shut up and tell me where you come from) Mariel said.

{*sigh* I was created by the sun god, Barhra. I was created to help dragons to boost their strength and help them grow} Levi explained. (What nonsense are you spouting, dragons don't exist) Mariel's face turned sour as he shouted inwardly.

"Mariel, are you okay?" Mary asked as she noticed that he hasn't said a word since. "Yes...I... I'm okay" Mariel said as she continued talking. (Like I said, dragons don't exist.), {So you think dragons don't exist but phoenixes do?} Levi said clearly pissed off. {Why aren't you talking anymore?} Levi asked again. (But if you were created for dragons how are you, Levi, with the phoenixes).

{*sigh* due to the asteroid, the dragon powers were boosted and if they use me it will not be as fast as when they were absorbing a large amount of energy caused by the asteroid. So they gave me to your ancestors as a sign of peace}.

(Wow!, what else do you do?) Mariel asked. {I have a lot of information on divine creatures, including phoenixes. I can teach and guide you as that is what I am made for } Levi explained.

(What about this sword?) Mariel then looked at the sword in the box. {You wouldn't be able to use it until you get to the master mage rank and learn the first stage of blade aura} Levi said.

"I am feeling more energy than before" he said to stop the elders and his mom from wondering what happened to him.

"I am going to rest and pack for school tomorrow" Mariel said as he went upstairs. when he got to his room he opened up a window and jumped out to the back yard to test his strength.
