18. Martial techniques

They got to an area in the library with different sections and the shelves were damn high. "Damn" he couldn't help but say out loud.

"What?...too high?, hehe... don't worry there's a magical staircase at the end" she laughed at him and she stretched her hand and a short staircase rolled from the other end of the shelf to the area.

"So,what type of magic spells are you looking for?" the kind pink haired girl asked as the staircase came to their area. "Hm?..,I haven't really thought about it" Mariel pondered.

{Hey Marie}.

(Don't call me Marie) he replied in an annoyed tone.

{Okay, since it's only two spells, take two of the spells for different elements then we can buy two other Martial techniques later}

(Hm?...that might work) Mariel bought the idea.

"I would like a spell on lightning and darkness" he said, to which she smiled.

"Okay...there...that's the shelf for lightning magic spells and at the other end is the shelf for darkness spells" she pointed to the specific shelves.

"When you're done I'll be at the counter" she said as she walked away. Mariel made his way to another shelf that the lightning spells were. "I can only choose one spell" he looked at thousands of spells and was discouraged. "Levi, scan the entire spell and find one that is powerful and also for combat" Mariel said. {No problem} and with that they searched for spells.

it's took a few minutes before a reply.

{Found one, [Thunder drill] very powerful, high piercing ability and the more Mana you infuse in the spell the more destructive and powerful it gets}

(I can't wait to try it out already) he climbed the ladder and collected the book. Now for a skill for my darkness element" he then walked to the ending of the pathway.

"Whoah, what are these different sections?" he saw a splitting line on the shelf where dark spells were

{The darkness element are separated into three main categories - Necromancy, shadow and reanimation}

"But it's only Necromancy and shadow spells I'm seeing spells I'm seeing here" Mariel said as he checked if there was another section somewhere but he didn't see any.

{Reanimation spells are probably forbidden, it distorts the magical balance between this realm and the nether realm} Levi explained. "Nether realm?" Mariel stopped walking.

{It's a place where necromancers mostly go. There is a large amount of dark energy there which makes it a good place to grow their power}

"Hm..like before, find a suitable spell for me" he said as he walked around the shelves watching previews of mages performing powerful spells.

{Got one. It's complex but you can handle it, it's called [Dark pulse]. I chose this spell because chaos energy can be used to cast it therefore making it stronger}

"Okay, sounds good" he located the spell on the shelf and took it. "Now for martial techniques" he said as he walked back to the counter.

"Hey Tracy, I'm done" he said as he brought out the two skills he took. "Whoah, it's like you singled out the powerful ones" she then confirmed the transaction.

"Can you show me where I can get martial techniques?" he asked.

"I see you like studying much" she said.

"I don't intend to study all the time, I mean....I need my rest" he smiled.

(His smile is even more handsome) Tracy daydreamed a little. "Tracy?" Mariel snapped her out of her daze.

"Ye...yes...fo... follow me" she said as she walked quickly to the elevator. Mariel was confused by her behavior.

*Sigh*

"Girls, you'll never understand them"

{Actually I do}

(Nobody was talking to you) he retorted.

{Whatever}.

He entered the elevator with the now red faced Stacy. "Did I say something?" he asked.

"N..no, let's just..just forget about it" she stammered a little. "Okay"

{Hey marie}

(Don't call me Marie)

{Hehe...now that you are a master mage, you can finally access the inner world within the crystal}

(Inner world?) he was confused.

{It's like my own personal space, just think of it as a virtual space or something like that}

(Okay) he got excited.

*Ding*

The elevator opened. "Follow me" Stacy said as she walked out of the elevator. When he got out of the elevator he saw various students in glass domes.

"What are those?" he couldn't help but ask Stacy. "Those are high level ice domes made by the chansellor of the school. They are almost impossible to break....unless the person is at the peak of the sage realm" she said. (Peak of the sage realm?) he pondered. {I'll tell you about it later, now focus on what's in front of you} Levi said.

Mariel quickly followed behind tracy. "Here!" she said as they entered another room. "Ah..." (I thought you said only a few martial techniques were here?)

{Yes, but compared to the hundreds of thousands of spells downstairs, this is very little}.

"Meet me downstairs after you have picked something" she scurried away . Mariel was now even more confused about her behavior. "Hey Levi, did I do something to her?" he asked. {.....}

(Hey!)

{Whaaat?}

Levi responded in a sleepy tone. "We're you sleeping?" Mariel asked, his face turned ugly.

{Uh..yeah...even artificial consciousness needs rest} {Did you ask me something?}

(Never mind that, just help me search the shelves) he said as he started searching.
