11. Mission hall

The training in solace academy was mostly field training where the students hunt monsters to test out what they learnt during classes.

Classes for the new students have not yet begun and would start after the introduction party that will be held by the school.

Mariel didn't even wait for the classes to start and have already began taking missions.

Actually, he is going to take the missions right now.

...

Following the map, the mission hall was quite far and it took some time to get there. There are various mission halls all around the school and lucky for Mariel, the main mission hall was close to his dorm.

"Wow!" he couldn't help but say out loud, the main mission hall was a ten storey building with a sword symbol on the wall.

The architecture looks to be done by experts and had a unique silver painting.

He saw students and some other people and followed the people walking into the building and then went to the counter he saw by the left.

"Hello sir, I'll like to take a mission" Mariel said to the man at the counter going through some papers.

"Hmm....what level are you?" the man asked, Mariel looked at him confused. {Tell him, fourth level apprentice mage} Levi said suddenly. "um..I'm at the fourth level apprentice mage" Mariel said and the man nodded his head. "Your level will be enough for you to go on F rank and E rank missions, this floor is for F rank missions, they are just simple gathering missions for herbs and ores, E rank missions are on the floor directly above this one and are way harder than F rank missions, and the higher the floor the higher the rank of missions" the man said.

"Okay. I understand. Thanks" Mariel said and nodded as he walked towards the elevator on the other side of the hall.

He entered the elevator an pressed the E floor button by the side as he stood there and waited.

...

*Ding*

The elevator rang, signifying that he was now on the E floor. The students here were many but they should be half of the students on the F floor. There was another man on a counter there and he walked to the man.

'This school has almost all the latest technology here' Mariel thought as he looked at the large screens on both side of the hall.

He saw little dots on the air moving and he looked at the dot and smiled.

'They even have a micro mini XR camera drone' he was wowed.

The owner of this school must've spent a lot.

He finally got to the counter and the man there looked at him.

"Ah, a new face. I assume you are new to the school" the man at the counter asked in a friendly manner.

"Yes, I am. I want to select a mission" Mariel said. "okay..um..there are mission screens on both sides of the hall, you can select a mission on the screen" the man said.

"ok, thank you" he left the counter and went to the screen in the hall.

Arriving before the screen, it was more than 100 inches in length, the width was something he didn't want to guess as I stretched far. He began swiping on the screen to select a mission.

"Hm?!" his brows furrowed as he was only seeing assistance and support missions here.

"Why aren't there any combat missions" he said as he kept scrolling on the screen rapidly.

"There aren't any combat missions here, the combat missions are on the opposite side of the support missions" a boy standing behind him said.

"Thanks" Mariel replied as he went to the combat missions area.

{Choose a mission that is far away so that we can practice your skills} Levi recommended

'okay' Mariel then began scrolling for missions.

The missions are based on the four main areas in solace island, forest area, desert area, River area and Mountain area. Each if these areas are extremely dangerous, the most dangerous out of the four areas is the mountain area where arial beasts reside. Only a grandmaster mage can go there.

'Hey Levi, what's all these apprentice mage, grandmaster mage about, is it a way of ranking mages?' Mariel asked as the terms used have been confusing him.

{Yes, the ranking of mages is apprentice mage, spirit mage, master mage, grandmaster mage, once a person has surpassed the mage realm they'll become a sage} Levi explained.

'How do I tell my level?' Mariel asked.

{You can know your level by the Mana circulation within you. Don't worry I'll tell you about it later, pick a mission, people are waiting behind you}, Mariel then looked back and saw that there was a not so long cue.

"Stop looking and hurry up" a person behind Mariel complained in annoyance.

Mariel then chose a mission in the desert area.

[Retrieve the hide of a wild Earth bear

Get the hide to Mrs kremer for rewards. ]

'It's a combat mission, and it also offers a free textbook' he accepted the mission and proceeded to leave the hall.

After he left the hall he went to a potion store that was beside the hall where a senior wearing a robe sat.

He heard that having potions during missions was very convenient and useful in case of anything.

"Hello senior, I would like a few potions" he said quickly.

"Um, okay. what potion do you want?"

Mariel's brows furrowed as he heard what type cause he just realised that he didn't know anything about potions.

{You don't know anything about potions and you want to buy. Mtch...}

'Sigh...come on. Just tell me what to do'

{Fine. Ask him for a few healing potions and mana revitalisation potions}

'Okay'

"Um... Some healing potions and some Mana revitalising potions" he said with a smile.

"Tsk... how many?"

"Five!" he answered as the senior pulled out a box and counted five vials red substance and and another five vials of blue potions.

The vials looked very much like a test tube. He stored them in his storage ring as he paid for the potions.

"Now I'm ready" he said as he made his way out of the hall to leave the school premises.
