2 Powers and Rebirth

Adam opened his eyes to see a middle-aged man with a polite smile in front of him. He was perplexed for a moment before recalling everything that had occurred. His expression changed from sadness to anger to heartbreak to indifference.

He looked at the person in front of him and asked, "Where am I?"

The middle-aged man responded "This is the first time I've witnessed so many emotions erupt and die at the same time. However, given how your life ended, this is to be expected. In response to your question, you are in a space I created called Hospice."

"I'm dead, just as I thought. Haa… What happened to that shitbag?"

"His soul has been torn in space by a non-elemental vortex, which is far more painful than anything; believe me, even I can't live with a sane mind after feeling that much pain."

"Good. So, what's next?" Adam inquired, his voice lifeless.

"We are now trading. Allow me to explain who I am. I, or rather, we, are beings who trade Karma, a source of food or 'currency' for us that helps us grow strong and increases our life force, in exchange for equivalent exchange. You have a lot of it, so this exchange can't be done by just anyone, and I'm one of the 'wealthy' people out there."

"Anything that adheres to the universe's and the third dimension's rules and regulations." "Says the middle-aged man."

"Are there more dimensions?"

"Yes. You won't necessarily understand because your consciousness can't handle such profound information right now."

"Okay, then. Before I 'wish' for something, could you please tell me where I will reincarnate? Back on Earth or in a parallel universe?"

"It's entirely up to you. Some Marvel and anime worlds are also available. After all, they are really an omniverse."

"Huh? Do they exist?" John's tone shifted to one of mild interest.

The middle aged man chuckled, "Yes. They are not imaginary, although not to the degree that some portray. They exist not because someone wrote or drew them but because the people who did were connected to these worlds. They are real but at the same time not and for them, your world can also be seen as such."

"Ok then. How many wishes do I have?"

"Until you run out of Karma." The man said with a smile.

"Can I think for sometime?" Adam asked as he needed some time.

"Sure. Take your time." He passed a golden sheet to Adam and said, "Here are some worlds you know and some other universes that exist. There is also a description on what and how they work."

Adam processed all the information he had from the middle aged man. He looked at the list provided. Some he recognized like One Piece, Naruto, MHA, Bleach while others had no names as title only the world's actual name.

He was confused about all this. After looking at the list he began to think,

'Why live more lives?'

'Why not just disappear?'

'Do I even need to reincarnate?'

'Will I remember anything?'

'Will this 'new' life be any good?'

After questions to himself, he decided.

'I'll define my own life. Everything I want, I'll get it. Besides, I always wanted to meet a few girls from these worlds. Let's have some fun with them. Maybe no love but just fun. From this list, only MHA provides less harm with correct powers. I now just have to wish for something to come above AFO as my quirk.'

After some thinking, he decided on his powers too. He looked at the man and said,

"I want something similar to Marco from One Piece's power, Tori Tori no mi, Model: Phoenix. I want some additions and modifications."

"Go ahead. If your Karma allows you everything then I'll give it to you."

"First, I want the ability to control my flames to reach more than 100,000 Celsius hot to -100,000 Celsius cold."

"That's almost 23 times hotter than the Sun's surface and below Absolute Zero boy. I can make it so that it can technically reach 10,000 for both but more than that and you might kill people and yourself just by standing there."

{{A/N: Yes, -10,000. Don't argue how it changes laws of physics if you are ok with the concept of Logia. They both break the laws of matter. I'll provide further explanation about the former latter.}}

"I can control it anyways." Adam frowned.

"Only with time and practice. Control can only be attained through practice. You will have the ability, but it will take time. It will also come at a cost. When you use it, you'll realize what it is. Normally, it will be a warm flame like the original, but you must use control and concentration."

"Fine. Second, I want a true Logia feature by default instead of Zoan. Though it might change the true feature of the Devil Fruit."

"You don't have enough Karma to do so. But we can make it so that certain conditions have to be met for you to achieve it. How about when you 'see', the Logia ability will be a passive skill but when you don't it'll be an active one. Also, you can't feel, smell or hear at its passive level. This will help me create your skill easily with rules of quirk while you can save some Karma."

"Sounds good enough. Next will be Haki then. All three of them."

"Not enough at all. While Observation Haki (OH) with modification is possible, the other two are too much for you to 'buy'. But I can make it so that when you reach a condition, Conqueror's Haki (CH) can be activated but it'll be dictated by your emotion. It won't be like the original but my version. You'll know what I mean later."

"So only with control over my emotion will I be able to control CH? *Sign* Sure. Now how much do I have left?"

"Basically yes. As for your Karma, it should be enough for one more general wish."

"I almost forgot to ask, do I keep my memory or will it be forgotten?"

"It can be bought. I advise you to keep your memory and forget the feelings. You know, like data. This will cost almost nothing except pain when you awaken your powers." The man advised.

"Why is that?" Adam asked in confusion.

"Think of all memories as constants that don't react or change in nature while feelings are variables that change with new input. It's a rather long conversation but that's the bare minimum I can describe for you. These two might be related, as both are data but in the human body they act totally different from one another. Memories inform you while feelings define you."

"Makes sense. I wanna keep all my memories and only my feelings for John and Alice. And as for the world, I'll choose MHA. Anywhere is fine but I want to be Japanese and the same year as other main characters. Also erase all memory of MHA. It'll be fun to go in blind."

"Sure. That won't be a problem. You'll be born in Todoroki house replacing Shoto. This is because no other family in Japan has a quirk more powerful in both fire and ice than them. For your Logia, I'll do something about it."

"Can't we be twins? Me being older of course. I always wanted a True brother." Adam said with some emotion.

"Hmm. Sure. Since I'm gonna have to change some things in their genes to give you your quirk and all, I can add that too.. This will have some changes in your new family though."

"Awesome." Adam smiled.

"Now go and have fun."

With that Adam lost his vision again.
