Chapter 2

"Living but nowhere to call home."

Slowly, Seraphina opened her eyes to feel herself on the cold floor. Sitting up, she found herself feeling awfully weak. She felt like a part of her memory had been torn out, the pounding headache she was having made it worse.

Shocked by why she was on the floor, she noticed her room looked like it had been hit by a meteorite. The glassy ceilings had their lights coming off, part of the windows shattered, curtains were torn.

"What the hell happened?" She asked herself. Unable to remember anything, she stood up to take a bath when she heard a loud knock, she opened it to reveal Erb, the classic robot.

"Mr and Mrs Jordans have called for you, they're in the sitting area," it said. 

"Er- Miss Seraphina, my sensors detect some kind of noise coming from in here. Is everything alright?" It asked.

"Yeah it is. Everything is fine nothing wrong." Just then the wall had fallen apart making a loud noise. Seraph gave a sheepish smile and turned on the auto clean for her room.

"Alright, let me put on some clothes," she told after her room was back to its normal condition. It nodded in response and left. She put on some clean clothes and went downstairs to meet her parents. 

In this new era, they are some who have dedicated their lives into saving sitizens from villains all over the world. They are known as superheroes. Apart from the Daelaiw, man's common enemy, other species around the universe have tried to take over the earth leading to the new field, Superheroes. Mr and Mrs Jordans being two superhumans with one of the most unique super ability in the planet, they joined the team of superheroes. In different schools all over the world, the new art of saving planet earth from the attacks of aliens was taught and that is what Seraphina wanted to become.

She sat down on the comfy bean chair while her parents sat opposite her. "I heard you have been chosen by an academy. However, this is not my doing," her father began.

"Then who?" She asked curiously but was shot a glare by her mother.

"Talk when I ask you to talk Seraphina. This academy chose you on their own free will. I haven't heard much about it but I most certainly don't care, for all I know they might dissect your brain or something," Seraphina gripped the hem of her shirt as she heard that. This was it, this was the last days of her life.

"I don't want an outcast in my home, Seraphina. Not even the government gives a shit about you and neither do I. You had an option--- Become a robot or no more." That was the way of the so called new peaceful world, when it's no longer needed, its thrown away like a pile of dirt. 

"Look at you. You're not the same daughter I gave birth too. You even cut your own hair," her mother pointed out and this is when Seraphina snapped but she held herself and walked out leaving her parents in shock. It wasn't like Seraphina to do such but she felt it was needed. There was no point in adding more insults if she was going to die anyway.

Getting back to her room, she crouches on the ground ready for the tears to spring out again but it never came. She heard a knock on her door, she hesitantly opened the door thinking it was her parents coming to yell at her for walking out on them but it was Erb. Its monitor screen showed teary eyes as it led her to the front door.

"What is it, Erb?" Curious, she opened it thinking it was playing a prank as it normally did but as she opened the door a large man, bald headed man stood by the door with a couple of soldiers standing behind.

"Are you Seraphina Jordans?" The man asked in a loud voice.

"Y-yes I am," she stammered, trying to gulp down the lump in her throat.

"Come with us. It's time to head to the military academy."
