Rejecting Sheng Nianchen

As we walked towards the academy, she looked around and what met her sight was the disgust in everyone's gazes as they looked at her.

'This Tang Xin is really stuck up'

She breathed out, resolution swirling in her eyes when she came face to face with the huge building in front of me. This place looks beautiful.

The moment she stepped in, she could hear 'oohs' around her and she scrunched her brows in annoyance. She turned to face a group who were eye searching her and her gaze turned cold. The surrounding temperature dropped tons lower and the group of people stepped back intimidated.

"Idiot" she frowned and turned to leave leaving a chaos behind her.

[ Who does she think she is? I really did feel uncomfortable within that moment ]

[You must be assuming things. She's merely nothing but a useless trash who dares to like our academy's scholar. Let's just keep eating the awesome meal]

[We should really thank Young Master Sheng for always leaving the food to us]

But they belittled her extremely pitched sense of hearing. She could hear all they said loud and clear making her stop abruptly. She pursed her lips and mischief flitted past her eyes as she was led to his class. She noticed that as she passed, everyone gathered around her. The girls envious eyes and the boys indifferent gazes. She held her head high and sauntered off finally facing a youth dressed in blue robe adorned in silver. He would fill in for a younger brother if he was ever one. He looked about two years older than Tang Xin. She examined him and finally realised who he was. Sheng Nianchen. She looked intensely at him and a frown broke her lips.

Damn! What kind of person was her host? He was handsome but he still couldn't pass off for even the least handsome hunk in her boy toys.

She finally stopped looking him up and looked at his eyes finally meeting the irritation and disgust swerving in his eyes.

"What are you doing here? I said not to come looking for me again" he howled examining her searchingly. She also noticed that little movement and a smirk quirked up at the corner of her lips.

"Looking for food?"

"What..NO.. Why would I even want to eat your rubbish."

"Good. You better not regret it" she taunted as she senses his anxiety.

"As if. Don't ever come looking for me again. I can't have anything to do with someone as useless as you "

"Let's annul our engagement" she announced and he stopped walking, glued on the spot. Everyone around gaped in surprise.

He turned to look at her for a moment in shock but soon recovered laughing mockingly "Is that supposed to affect me?"

She merely chuckled and his eyes darkened upon seeing how serious she was.

"It's not meant to amuse you, anyway"

"What nonsense are you saying?"

"And what right do you have to question me?" she coldly sneered. She couldn't believe her host was such an hopeless lover. How could she like such a scheming man who only thinks of his status.

"What...You..love me"

She shook her head as if she was staring at the dumbest man in history and turned to face her maid.

"Get me a paper, brush and ink"

Wu Qin nodded leaving and returned soon with what she wanted. She collected it and started to write to the disgust of everyone including him. It was no rumour that the First Young Miss of the Tang family was illiterate. But their faces keep blank, when she shoved the paper reading 'Engagement Annulment' in his face. She smiled contentedly seeing the expression on his face. She turned to leave but he suddenly walked forward, grabbing her wrist and her eyes turned sharp. She twisted his hand and flipped her arm attacking one of his crucial points. He stared in shock or rather pain and she looked around to see the people staring in confusion. She smiled when she saw him masking his pain and turned to leave him standing there like a dejected groom dumped on the altar.
