Chapter 31

"They gave us a lot of homework." Gene sighed.

Gene and I were walking home from school after it ended that Friday.

"Yeah. Looks like we can't play that new zombie shooting game tonight," I replied.

"At least we'll have something to look forward to."

When we arrived home, we gathered our games and consoles together to deposit them inside the cardboard box.

"I guess exams start on Monday, huh?" I sighed. "Goodbye videogames! I will miss you." I hugged my cartridges one last time before depositing them inside the box.

"Is that everything?" Gene asked.

"I think so."

"I'll close the box now." Just before he was about to tape the box shut, he stopped. "Just one last game."

"What?" I blinked.

"Just one last game for tonight, Beatrice! Just the first three Chapters! Then we can go full study mode after!" He sounded like he was begging desperately.

I had no objections. "Ok. The last night of fun before exams, huh? I can't wait till exams are over."

"Me too."
