71 A Trip To The Aquarium

While Alice and Jacob were working behind the scenes, Abbie and Alex were out sightseeing. This was their last day on the island so they decided to go to the places they didn't have the opportunity to visit the day before.

Alex rented a pedicab and was currently pedaling with a smile on his face. He was wearing a summer beach polo shirt, but, due to Abbie's request, it was unbuttoned. The shirt waved freely in the wind, giving Abbie the perfect view of her future hubby's drop-dead-gorgeous-body.

Alex pretended that he didn't see how ardently she studied him. In fact he really, really wanted to tease her and say, "Why are you just looking? You can touch it, too, you know?"

However, he didn't say that. Because if Abbie really did touch him in that manner, he was afraid that his self control would crumble. He wanted their first time to be special, he didn't want it to happen in the middle of the road!

In time, the two arrived at one of the attractions of the island. It was the Sea Horizon Aquarium. This aquarium had a special underground tunnel that allowed people to see the marine life that lived around the island under the water. Strong glass structures allowed for the clearest, close up, view of the animals as they swam beside them and overhead.

The two of them only had a few hours left to explore before they needed to be back at the hotel. Because their time was limited, they decided to spend their remaining time here in the aquarium. Looking at the number of bicycles and pedicabs that were already there in the parking area, Alex estimated that there were quite a few people who had the same thoughts as they did.

"Sorry for being selfish," Abbie said as she stepped down from the passenger seat. "Did you get tired from pedaling?"

The journey from the resort to the aquarium took thirty minutes. Although it may seem short, riding a pedicab and pedaling for thirty minutes was not an easy task. This is especially true if the person seated in the passenger seat was someone like Abbie.

"You can be selfish as much as you want," Alex said with affection. "Doing things with you, I do it because I want to. Also, you're very light. You should eat a bit more, Abbie."

"Alex…"

"Yes, Abbie?"

"Stop making me gain weight," Abbie lightly pounded Alex's chest. "I want to be slimmer and have a beautiful body. Don't you want your future girlfriend to have a sexy body?"

"You're so silly, Abbie." Alex gave her a light hug. "I love you the way you are. Also, your body is already beautiful. I was serious when I said that you need to eat a bit more."

"Oh hush," Abbie said as she gently pushed Alex away. Her hubby's words were so sweet that she was afraid that it would give her diabetes.

"Let's go in. It's hot outside."

"Alright."

The two made their way to the entrance of the aquarium. The moment they stepped inside, they felt the temperature drop due to the effects of the air conditioners. They headed to the counter to purchase tickets.

The receptionist had just received a call from their manager that if a certain Alex Von Ainsworth appeared on the premises, they were to give them the VIP treatment. The aquarium was not only the place that got a call. All of the attractions on the island had already been informed to give special treatment to their honored guest.

The moment the receptionist saw Alex, a beautiful smile appeared on her face. She had already seen the photo that their manager had sent them. With that brilliant red-hair and that handsome face, who would not be able to recognize him?

"Good morning," the receptionist greeted Alex and Abbie with a smile. "Welcome to the aquarium."

Before Alex and Abbie even asked for the ticket, the receptionist had already given them two tickets for free. Not only that, they were given additional food vouchers for the cafe located inside the aquarium.

The freebie didn't stop there. They were also given gift vouchers for the souvenir shop as well. Alex and Abbie were dumbfounded as the staff bowed their heads in a respectful manner as they spoke in unison, "Please, enjoy your stay at the aquarium!"

With tickets in hand, Alex felt grateful and gave the members of the staff a sincere word of thanks.

"Let's go," Alex said as she held Abbie's hand.

"Wait." Abbie raised her hands and slowly buttoned Alex's beach polo shirt. "This is mine. I don't want others to see it."

The receptionist looked at the scene with admiration.

'Such a lucky girl! I wish I had a boyfriend like Sir Alex!' the receptionist thought.

The underwater aquarium was truly a wonderful place. Abbie couldn't help but be amazed at the beauty of the underwater world that lay beneath the island. She saw colorful fishes, sea turtles, baby sharks, and even a huge manta ray.

After an hour of walking around, the two decided to head to the cafe to have lunch. The place was quite crowded and almost all the tables were taken. Surprisingly, the two saw some very familiar faces among the crowd who recognized them as well.

"Abbie! Alex!" Britney waved at them from their table. "Seat with us, there is still plenty of space."

"Shall we?" Alex asked.

Abbie reluctantly nodded her head. She wanted to spend her time with Alex, but since most of the tables were occupied, she decided to accept Britney's invitation.

"Take a seat." Britney smiled and gestured to the vacant seats on their table. "I didn't know that the two of you were interested in marine life."

"We just came here on a whim," Abbie said in a casual manner. "Fortunately, we were not disappointed. This place is quite good."

"Indeed." Britney nodded her head in agreement. At first, she, too, was not interested in marine life. The reason why they were here was because it was the last day of their short vacation and they wanted to check out as many of the attractions as possible before they left tomorrow morning.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Britney chuckled. "This is a self service cafe. You can take your order to the counter and they will prepare the food similar to a fast food chain."

"Alright, I'll go." Alex was about to stand up when Abbie held his hand.

"Let me do it," Abbie said with gentle eyes. "You need to rest because you will be the one to pedal the pedicab back to the resort. Let me handle this."

Alex smiled and nodded his head. Since Abbie cared for his well being, naturally he wouldn't reject her offer. He watched his beloved walk towards the counter with a smile on his face.
