Divorce issues resolved

About an hour later, Ishan reached home. As soon as, he entered the living room Ishan saw their parents anxiously sitting in the sofa waiting for him. After that day, when Ishan heard about their parents divorce talk, he didn't talk much to them. He would often came home late to avoid meeting them.

Today he felt a little better after sharing his worries with Kifayat. He knew that he can't escape from this problem forever. One day before or after, he has to face it. So he sat awkwardly in front of his parents. After a while his mother's voice sounded,

"You class teacher called me to tell me about you performance in this test."

Ishan thought his mother is angry that his grades plummeted. Ishan was about to explain that this will not happen again. Then his mother suddenly hugged him tightly and burst into tears. Ishan was dumbfounded. He has never seen his mother cry like this. As long as he remembers since childhood his mother was always a very strong woman.

Ishan's mother belongs to a scholarly family. She is a highly educated and sophisticated woman that anyone would admire. She works as an executive officer in a high ranking corporate company. She recently got promoted.

Compared to Ishan's mother Ishan's father job is mediocre. He works as an project manager in the same company as his wife. They met when Ishan's father's previous company had a co operation. After getting along for a while they both fell in love with each other. Even Ishan himself was very surprised after knowing that his mother proposed to father first and then got married.

Ishan's father was always very supportive of his wife. He never felt any kind of insecurity or jealousy towards his wife, rather than pride. Their such good relationship started to break down after Ishan's mother got promoted and wanted to transfer abroad.

Ishan's mother wanted their family to shift abroad because she thought there would be better opportunity to study for Ishan.

But Ishan's father disagreed. He had resigned from his previous company to be with his wife. He never had any regrets about that. After if he were to lose his job again and find another job abroad, it will be very difficult to get the same position. That's when their conflict arose. Day by day their conflict became so intense that they decided to get a divorce. And Ishan's mother will take Ishan with him.

They did not want Ishan to know about this so early, so they decided to wait until his entrance examination. But an accident happened. Ishan realized early that there is something wrong between his parents and found out about the divorce talk.

Back to present, Ishan's mother kept crying and apologizing. There are tears even in his father's eyes. Ishan thought something serious must have happened. He tentatively called for his parents.

"Mom, well are you okay? Are you angry about the grade? I...."

"Never, how can your mom get angry with you!? It is your mom's fault. Please, son forgive your mother."

"What happened ma, why are you apologizing?" Ishan panicked, then helplessly looked at his father. His father also didn't say anything about it.

Instead asked Ishan, "Why did you come home so late today? Your phone was switched off. You were not in school or library or the places you usually go, we could not found you nowhere. Do you know how worried we were, we thought something bad might happened to you." Ishan's father wanted to sound very strict but the trembling in his voice betrayed him.

Ishan understood, her parents were worried he might do something risky or harmful because of the results. He felt touched. "I just went to a walk with a friend. I forgot to charge my phone last night. So the battery was dead. I am sorry. It will not happen again." Ishan apologized with his head down.

Ishan's parents felt relieved. "Actually Ishan about the divorce matter, we decided to tell you everything." Then Ishan's mother explained everything to Ishan about the promotion, their conflict without hiding anything.

She added, "Blame me, I was always so preoccupied with the works I forgot to notice your real needs. I always took you father's sacrifice for me taken for granted, I forgot about the duties of a wife." Ishan's mother apologized both to his husband and son.

Ishan's father shook his head, "You are working very hard, honey. I should have been more patient."

"Yeah mom, you don't need to apologize. Just... can you not divorce dad?" Ishan said the words he wanted to say the most. His voice was shaking.

"Of course I will never your dad. It was just angry words with your dad."

"Yes son, do you think anyone other than me can endure your mother?" Ishan laughed while crying. It's good our family is going to be okay.

All three of them cried and laughing while embracing each other. Thus the matter of divorce was resolved. After this incident, none of them ever mentioned leaving each other.

When we're angry, it's like a tempest brewing within us, stirring up emotions and clouding our judgment. So never ever make a decision while you are angry. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "Whatever is begun in anger ends in Shame."
