There will come a time
At the end of you
When the sun is devoured
And darkness reigns
Brought on by
Inevitable cardiac entropy
With the dark
Comes the chill
Gliding slowly
Coving all
With a blue haze
Devouring the energy below
Energy tapped
Frost smashes
Warmth flees
Life drains
Sky darkens
Mountains whiten
The
ocean
Life's cradle
Where meaning was born
But left to run
Turns to ice
The source cut
Coldness seeps
Mantle cools
State of the inner permeates
The body still
Protection destroyed
Turning blue
Life cries out
Tears of blood
Rubies fall to shatter
Beings of water
Turn to beings of ice
Forever
The last human stands
Alone and bereft
Still
Life blood cools
From the extremeties
It freezes over
Like an arctic lake
Frozen to the core
The ice statue stands
One among billions
Just a feature on
This blue marble.
The new mars
Falls apart
Part of the endless
Cold void
The universe is one
To be part of space
An empty vacuum
There for eternity
Unchanged
Unreactive
Is life's
Inevitable fate
