Chapter - 2: How The Paths Work

Chapter - 2: How The Paths Work

**

Six hours later...

--

After some time to himself, Felix now understands how his "Helper" works, or how he called it: Path.

Path allows him to see the adaptable steps he needs to take to succeed at nearly any given task and execute them perfectly. Its applications include combat, communication, and social situations, and many other things. Hell, the Path even gave him steps to seduce people or make people fall in love with him.

For example, if Felix asked a question like this," How do I get to the other side of the minefield without getting hurt", he'll probably get something like:

[ Step 1: Run forward 500ft.

Step 2: Turn 1.37 degrees to the right.

Step 3: Continue running at new heading for 30ft.

Step 4: Pick up loose rock with right hand.

Step 5: Throw loose rock in X direction with Y force.

Step 6: Wait 4.37 seconds.

Step 7: Run forward 120ft ]

Likewise, for combat: he can ask for example "How to I win this fight, without injury to myself" plus whatever outcomes he desires and lets the Path take over. If he wanted to he could ask "How to I shoot this guy from several miles away with this handgun?", and his Path will make all the calculations including trajectory, gravity, wind, imperfections in the gun/bullet, him own muscle movements, breath etc... and he would make that shot, if possible.

For Communication & social situations - he can say the right words with the right tone, inflection, facial/body movements etc... to get basically get anyone to do anything for him, if at all possible.

Lastly, from his countless "Path" experiments, it all comes down to one thing: specific word-play.

He even tried running a "Path" for immortality, but he quickly dashed that one away for now.

[ Goal: How To Gain Immortality.

Total-Steps: 302 ]

As of now, he only has one Path running.

[ Goal: Find Shelter and Food.

Total-Steps: 3.

Step-One: Keep walking in the same direction for eight hours ]

" Two more hours left..." Felix mumbled to himself, glancing at the rising sun.

--

Two hours later...

..

[ Step-Two: Walk to the right for 40ft ]

" More...walking?"

Felix groaned but followed the Path.

As he walked, he glanced at the towering trees and slowly let a smile makes its way onto his face.

' Fuuuu... I would love to be a tree.'

He sighed to himself. What is a professional gamer like him doing in the woods anyways?

...Oh right. Truck-kun happened.

[ Final-Step: Knock at the door at the right, ten feet away and then, faint ]

' Door?'

Felix raised an eyebrow.

' What doo-' Looking to the right, his eyes widened seeing a lonely wooden cabin,' Oh, that door.'

Walking up towards the wooden cabin, Felix closed his eyes and let the Path take over.

Before he knew it, he was watching himself knock on the in a way that was not too loud or soft. The knock was just right. Ominously just-right.

With the sound of footsteps from the wooden cabin, Felix watched as his body fall into the snow like a puppet with its strings cut.

[ Path Complete! ]

As he comes back to his body, he slowly felt sleepy.

" Oh mein!"

The last thing he heard was a German women's voice as darkness took him.

..

..

..

..

..

Two Days Later...

--

" Oh, your awake."

Upon returning to the world of the waking, Felix heard these simple words. German words, he somehow fully understands.

' Eh? Am I In Skyrim now?'

Blinking his eyes a few times, a wooden ceiling greeted him.

" You gave me quite the fright there young man."

Following the voice, he looked to his right, seeing a kind-looking old lady with long gray hair and hazel eyes, wearing a big winter coat around her.

Rocking in her chair a few times, the old lady smiled at the confused-looking snow-haired young man.

" Could you tell me what happen to you?"

" I... I don't know." Felix said, in perfect German.

" You don't?"

He shook his head," I remember going to bed at home and then waking to me walking in the snow..."

" Sounds like amnesia to me, young man." The old lady hummed, watching the snow fall from the window In front of them.

" That or... drugs, people your age love killing y'all bodies with." She added, glancing at Felix.

" Or both..." He nodded with a bitter smile.

Knowing his luck... it's both. Though, at least he remembers his first life fully. Very well in fact.

" Well," Smiling at Felix, the old lady got up and started to tuck him in," I think one more day will of sleep will do you fine."

" One more? How long was I out for?"

" Two days." She said, making Felix's eyebrow twitch.

With a promise of breakfast and a winter coat, the old lady left the room.

Staring at the ceiling for a solid minute, he finally sighed.

" That's future me problems..."

With his mind made up, Felix slowly fell back to sleep...
