Yosuke’s Dark Side

We got to the other area, where Teddie said Saki was.

"What is this place? It looks just like the Shopping District." Yosuke said. "What's going on here!?"

"Some weird places have appeared here recently. Things are getting tangled, I dunno what to do." Teddie said.

"Uh, by the way, why are you standing so far from us?" Yosuke asked. "You better not be planning to high tail it if something does come up."

"O-of course not! I mean uh, I can't stand too close, I might get in your way, plus I don't want him to take my head off again." He said while pointing to me.

"Hmmm. Man, they really went all out with this. But out of all the places in town, why'd they replicate this one?" Yosuke asked

"How should I know? This is Reality for the one who's here." Teddie said

"As usual, nothing you say makes sense. But if this is the shopping district, then we're not far from Saki Senpai's."

We kept on running until we arrived at a small store, looks like a liquor shop.

"I knew it! This is the liquor store that Senpai's parents run. Does that mean, Senpai disappeared here?" Yosuke asked. "What could've happened?"

"W-wait a second! They're here!" Teddie said

"What!?" Yosuke asked

"Shadows! I had a feeling they were going to attack!" Teddie said

Two pink and black striped ball creatures appeared out of the store and came closer to us.

Yu gripped his head in pain.

"I am Thou, Thou Art I. The time has come to open thy eyes, and call forth what is within!" A voice said

He stopped, and then there was a strange card in his hand. It started glowing.

"Persona." Yu said in a quiet voice.

The card exploded in a blue flame, as a strange figure appeared behind Yu.

"You might want this!" I said as I handed the golf club back to Yu.

"What about you?" Yu asked

"I absorbed my shadow's power right? Let's see what I can do with it!" I said

I focused my dark red aura through my arm, and a large Sabre and blue armour appeared on me.

"Whoa! Awesome!" Yosuke said

Several more white round monsters appeared, with long tongues sticking out of there mouths.

"More of them, let's get to work!" I said

I charged at them and began slashing with my sword, taking most of them down, while Yu blasted them with Lightning, taking them all out.

"Whoa! What was that?" Yosuke asked. "Did I hear you say "Persona"? What was it? I mean, what did you do? Hey, you think I can do it too?"

"Calm down Yosuke, your troubling Sensei!" Teddie said

"S-sensei?"

"Gosh almighty! You're amazing Sensei! Oh, and you too Y/n! I am one impressed bear! I can't believe you were hiding such an amazing power! No wonder the Shadows were scared of you! *Gasp*, are you the one who is able to bring people into this world? Hah! That's what I thought! This is really something! Don't you think so Yosuke?" Teddie asked.

Yosuke knocked Teddie over.

"Dude, you call him Sensei and then don't show me any respect?" Yosuke asked

"S-Sorry." Teddie said

"Well, your support wasn't bad though." Yosuke said. "I gotta give you some credit for that."

Teddie started blushing.

"R-really? Heeeheee." Teddie said

"Alright. You three keep it up and I think we'll be fine from here on out." Yosuke said. "Now let's get back to the investigation!"

We turned and headed into the store.

"Man, I wonder what could've happened to Senpai here." Yosuke asked

We heard a bunch of different voices.

"Ugh, I wish Junes would go under."

"It's all because of that store!"

"W-what the!?" Yosuke asked

"Oh, I heard that Konishi-sans daughter is working there."

"Oh my, how could she? With her family's business suffering like it is?"

"I heard their sales have gone downhill because of Junes."

"S-stop it." Yosuke said

"That poor father. To have his own daughter working for the enemy."

"What a troublesome child."

"Hey, Hey ted! You said that this place is Reality for those that are here right? So, does that mean that this was Senpai's Reality when she wandered in here?" Yosuke asked

"I, only know about what's over here." Teddie said

"Fine, whatever's going on here, we'll find out ourselves!" Yosuke said.

The inside looks like a massive production plant, with barrels and barrels of what I assume are booze stacked in here. I can here the storm swirling around outside.

"Yosuke, we should be careful. Who knows what we're gonna run into here." I said

"I know I know." He said

"I'm serious, you had a connection with Saki, if my hunch is correct-"

There were more voices in the background.

"Dammit Not again." Yosuke said

"Saki! How many times do I have to tell you!?" A man's voice said

"Is this, Senpai's dad?" Yosuke asked

"You know what the neighbours say about you right!? Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You're the eldest daughter of a family who's owned this store for generations! Is it the money? Or did you meet some guy there!? Just tell me why you work THERE of all places!"

"I, I can't believe this." Yosuke said. "She seemed like she had fun at work, she never said anything like this to me! You're telling me THIS is how Senpai really saw things!?" Yosuke asked in disbelief

We ran over to the desk. It's covered in photos.

"These photos, Hey, is this? It's the photo we took the other day with the other part timers at Junes! Why's it cut up like this?" Yosuke asked

The scrap of the photo shows Saki smiling. Yosuke is standing next to her in it.

"I, never had the chance to say it." Saki's voice said.

"Is that, senpai's voice!?" Yosuke asked

"I always wanted to tell Hana-chan."

"Huh? Me?" Yosuke asked

"That he was a real pain in the ass. I was nice to him just because he's the store manager's son, that's all. But he takes it completely the wrong way, and gets all enthusiastic, what a dip." Saki's voice said

"P-pain in the ass?" Yosuke asked

"We need to get him out of here now." I said to Yu.

"Who cares about Junes anyway? Because of that store, our business is ruined, my parents hate me, the neighbours talk behind my back, I wish everything would just disappear." Saki said

"I-It's a lie, this can't be. Senpai's not like that!" Yosuke said in disbelief.

"I-it's *sniff*  so sad. I feel so sorry for myself, boo boo." A voice that sounded like Yosuke said.

We turned to face a shadow of Yosuke, with a dark blue aura around him.

"Actually I'm the one who thinks everything's a pain in the ass. Hahahaha!"

"Huh!? Two Yosukes?" Teddie said

"It's just like with me we gotta move!" I said as I heard the data storm quickly approaching.

"W-who are you? I wouldn't think that!" Yosuke said

"Hahahaha, yeah right. How long are you going to keep deluding yourself!?" Screw the shopping district, and screw Junes too! You're sick of everything! Especially living out in the sticks!" S Yosuke said

"What are you saying!? That's not true I-"

"You put on a good show of being carefree and happy go lucky 'cause you're so terrified of being alone! The more the merrier right? You've got to be surrounded by people to block out the pain of isolation! And what's this about checking out this world for Saki senpai's sake? Hah! I know the real reason you came snooping!"

"S-stop it!" Yosuke said

"Hahahaha, why so panicked? I thought I was just spouting bullshit! Or maybe I DO know everything you're thinking!? Why's that? BECAUSE I AM YOU!" S Yosuke said. "You just came because you thought it sounded like a good time! What else is there to do out here in this shithole! A world inside the TV! Now that's exciting! You didn't have a single other reason for coming here, did you!?"

"That's not true! Stop, stop it!" Yosuke said

"You're just trying to act like a big shot! If it all went well, Hey, maybe you could even be a hero! And that Senpai you were so sweet on? Her death was the perfect excuse!" S Yosuke said

"THAT'S NOT TRUE! WHAT ARE YOU!? WHO ARE YOU!?" Yosuke shouted in anger

"*chuckle* I already told ya. I'm you, your shadow, there's nothing I don't know about you!"

"Screw that! I don't know you! YOU CAN'T BE ME YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Yosuke said

"Hahahahahahaha! That's right say it again!" S Yosuke said

"You're not me! You're nothing like me!" Yosuke said

"Here it comes!" I shouted as the data storm broke through.

"Yeah that's right. I am me now. I'm not you anymore, see?" S Yosuke said as he transformed.

A humanoid shell appeared on a duel board.

"I hate to do this to you, but you're better equipped to handle that thing!" I said as I hopped on mine. "I'll finish this as quickly as I can!"

"I am a shadow, the true self! I'll crush everything that bores me!"

"Whatever, let's duel!" I said

My Life Points: 8000

"I'll go first! I'll start by activating the field spell wetlands! All level 2 or lower aqua monsters gain 1200 attack points! Next I discard one flip flop frog to special summon swap frog to my field! It sends a dupe frog from my deck to the graveyard! Then I'll normal summon another swap frog! Next I'll build the Overlay Network to Xyz Summon! Come on out, Toadally Awesome! Next I'll detach one overlay unit to activate it's effect! It lets me summon one frog monster from my deck! I summon my third swap frog! I end my turn with that!" He said

A bunch of frogs appeared on his field, the Xyz one is yellow and has two frogs representing the monster.

"My turn! I normal summon @Ingister Pikari! I use it's effect to add Ignister AIland to my hand! Appear! The circuit that reaches out to the truth! I set Pikari in the Link Marker! I Link Summon, Linguriboh! Then I act AIland! When I control no monsters in the main monster zone, I can special summon one level 4 or lower @ignister monster from my hand! I special summon Doyon, which lets me add Pikari back to my hand! Then if I control a monster in the extra zone, I can special summon Hiyari! Appear, the circuit that reaches out to the truth! I set Linguriboh, Doyon and Hiyari in the Link Markers to Link Summon, @Ignister Dark Templar! AILand's effect! I summon Burruru from my hand! Dark Templar's effect! It lets me special summon two more @Ignisters from my hand! I summon Pikari and Doshin! I tune Burruru with Pikari to Synchro Summon! @Ignister Wind Pegasus! Now I'll activate the spell card Arcana Power shared gift! If I activate a Link Spell beside it, it's effect can activate to any monster it points to! I activate the Link Spell Judgement Arrows! Normally it only works with Link Monsters, but now, I've got everything working perfectly! I attack your Toadally Awesome with Wind Pegasus!" I said

"I activate my shadow skill, overlay block! By detaching both of my monsters overlay units, I can negate all of my monster's destructions!" S Yosuke said

Wind Pegasus came charging at the Yellow Frog.

Pegasus attack Points: 2300 - 4600

S Yosuke's Life Points: 8000 - 5600

Dark Templar went in and slashed Swap frog.

S Yosuke's life points: 5600 - 5500

"I end my turn." I said

"My move then! Appear! The circuit that reveals the darkness! I set Toadally Awesome and Swap Frog in the Link Markers! I Link Summon, Dark Shadow Froglossus!" S Yosuke said

The shadow from below appeared on the field.

"I don't like the looks of this!" I said.

"It gets even worse for you! Froglossus gains 500 attack points for every frog in my graveyard! I have 6 monsters, that means it gains 3000 attack points! Next I'll activate the card Shadow Power Release Restraint! It let's me summon two monsters from my deck! Now I activate Froglossus' effect! When it's co linked I can put a dart counter on any monster you control, they can't be destroyed by battle or card effects, but you take 500 points of damage per counter!"

My Life Points: 8000 - 7000

"Release Restraints other Effect! I can tribute those two monsters I just summoned to allow my monster to attack directly! It also gains 1000 more attack points!

Froglossus' attack Points: 1500 - 4500 - 5500

"Froglossus! Attack him directly!"

Froglossus leaped into the air and smashed me with it's giant fist.

"Are you ok!?" Teddie asked

"I'm fine!" I said

My life Points: 7000 - 1500

"I end my turn! It's over for you! Your next turn you take 1000 damage! Unless you can finish me off, it's game over my next turn!"

"I draw!"

My life points: 1500 - 500

Perfect. I headed into the data storm

"I activate my skill! When my life points are 1000 or less, I can grab a random Cyberse monster from the data storm! Storm Access! Appear! The circuit that reaches out to the truth! GO! EVOLUTION LINK SUMMON! Appear, Ignister Arcana Warrior The Fool!" I said

"Next I activate the spell Arcana Power Tuning assistant! It acts as a level 1 tuner and lets me Synchro Summon! I tune it with Wind Pegasus! EVOLUTION SYNCHRO SUMMON! Appear! Ignister Arcana Warrior The Magician!" I said

"It's effect activates! Your monster's attack points are now cut in half, and it gains that many attack points!"

The Magician's attack Points: 2500 - 5250.

"Battle! The Magician attacks Froglossus! Thanks to the Fool's effect, Judgement Arrow's Effect can be transferred to the Magician! The Magician's effect! When it attacks your monster, it first deals effect damage equal to that monster's attack points, and then deals battle damage! Go! Magician's Rage!"

Magician's Attack Points: 5250 - 10,500

The Magician's wheel spun around and sent a flaming tornado at S Yosuke.

Life Points: 5500 - 2750

Then the wheel popped off and spun around Froglossus, creating a destructive magical circle that annihilated the shadow.

I quickly absorbed the shadow's card into me. I better check on the others.
