1 One - The Path

I woke up before my alam clock rings. Shit! This headache makes me feel like my head will going to explode. Last night I was hanging out together with my bestfriends Hyuga and Gin. We were at the bar drinking and smoking like there will be no tomorrow.

We are now in our 3rd year of college but it feels like we still don't have any plans for our future. We are best friends since junior high and we treat each other as brothers.

My sister who is older than me is knocking at my door checking if I'm awake, tells me to go down the stairs and eat my breakfast before I go to school. "Chaeng! I will be leaving now. Better to make sure to lock the door before you leave." My sister is a volunteered doctor. I am an Arts Major. Actually, I choose that course because my friends told me that it will be the most easiest course compare to others. No pressure at all.

I immediately eat my breakfast and take a bath. I go to college earlier than my usual. I decided to go to the convenience store first to buy a pack of cigarettes before I go to the subway. I decided to smoke first and thinking that maybe I should call my friends to skip classes, then when I was about to dial Gin's number there was this girl who captured my eyes. She is the girl that I was dreaming of ever since in high school. I decided to follow her on the subway and based on her uniform she is in different University but it is just near in our school. I follow her but putting some distance between us so that she can't notice my presence.

However, fate didn't allow me to follow the girl because someone taps me from behind. It was Gin. "Hey dude I was calling you from behind several times are you deaf?" Gin punch my arm after he said that. "I'm sorry bro I didn' t hear you. But why are you so early today?" I said and confusion will be noticed on my face since we are always late. We both decided to skip classes for today and we called Hyuga to meet us in our favorite place to drink again.

The three of us are now in a KTV Bar drinking. Gin told us that he has a love quarrel with her girlfriend. Actually, his girlfriend is older than us we are 20 and his girlfriend is around 50 and she is the president of Suzuran University our School. That's why we have the guts to do whatever we want to do because we know that they can't do anything to kick us out, though their relationship is a secret only the two of us knows the truth. Hyuga and I.

We are trouble makers since in high school. That is why most of the people who know us cannot believe that we can enter in College, we also have poor grades back then. Of course, that is what we called the power of Gin. Gin met that old lady back in high school when we were on a vacation in Ayutthaya back then, their communication didn't stop. Since Chanda was the one who always communicates with Gin. And now, they are on their 3rd year of being in a relationship. Well Hyuga and I are both single, still, we are not ready to be in a relationship.

I told them about the girl that I saw this morning and I told them that I'm sure that she is the girl that I always waited in the train station back when we were in high school. I still can't forget her angellic face, though before I was into girls with a snobbish look on their faces but now, when I saw that girl everything change.

I told them that I'm really desperate to see her again. Now that I know where University she is, I will find a way to see her again.

"Seriously? I haven't seen you so desperate just like now" Hyuga said while drinking his beer and give me an assurance that they will help me to know the name of the girl. "Are you serious bro? Because if it is we will help you to kidnap her! Hahahahaha" Gin jokingly said while laughing and having a seriousness on his tone. I punch him in his arm and I told them that I am serious bout this girl.

It's passed 9pm and we decided to go home. I'm a little bit tipsy since I have a high alcohol tolerance. When we parted ways, I decided to smoke a cigarette. The sky is beautiful. The moon is very light. How I wish I'm just like the others. Who have clear directions in to their life. While I'm still here an immature guy who loves to smoke, drink and troublemaker. Lots of though comes to my mind.

Then, suddenly a scream of a girl caught my attention. I wanted to ignore it but her scream is getting louder and louder. I saw a group of four guys beating one guy and a girl, suddenly I immediately recognize the face of the girl. It's Her! I feel like my world sank once I saw her with his boyfriend. I thought that she is single. Well, if you have a face like hers then probably all the guys in her school of course will do everything to get her sweetest YES!

What a loser! I said to myself.

I was about to turn my feet away when our eyes met and she is yelling for help while looking at me. I can't ignore her pretty face. Yet it is full of anxiety, fear and the tears that rolling down her face I can't ignore it. I immidiately run to their direction and kick the stomach of the guy who is going to punch his boyfriend, the guy fell on the ground unconsiously and the three of them face me. One of them immediately recognized me. "Chaeyoung? Hahahaha never thought that I can see you here. It's payback time" the guy uttered. Though I didn't recognize him. Probably one of the people that I beat before, since we are troublemakers. I easily avoid his punch then I punch him hard in the stomach. One of the guy is holding a rod. It was too late it landed on my face. Blood is rushing down my face and suddenly my blood boils inside me because of what happened then after that four of them was lying on the ground all unconscious. Though I can't feel the pain in my head, maybe because I was used to it since brawling is part of my life. I always involved into fights. But still, blood is rushing down my face.

I turn around and saw the girl still crying and holding her boyfriend,  head on her lap. I wipe the blood on my face and I faced them. The girl asked me to help her and to go to the nearest hospital since the guy is still unconsciously lying on her lap. I carried the guy behind my back and while walking the guy regain his consciousness. "Kai!" the girl uttered smiling with a concern that you can see in her face. I also smile when I see her smilling though i was like an idiot, still I manage to control it and gain my serious face again. I help him to sit to the nearest bench in the park and then I saw them hugging and of course there is a strong bond that you can see to them. I was about to leave without saying a word but the girl stop me "Thank you for saving us." she said while both of them stand and bow to me. I was frozen a bit by the sudden action and thinking how polite they are. By seeing their uniforms it seems that they are from one of the elite universities here in Bangkok. Hanadera University.

Students from Hanadera University are not just coming from a wealthy family. Even if you are rich if you are not smart you can't enter to that University. It is a dream of every student to enter that University.

"You are hurt. Your head is bleeding." the girl uttered and wipe the blood om my face then put her handkerchief to my head where the blood is starts. I was froze buy her sudden action and then the guy offered me go to the nearest hospital. My eyes glued on the face of the girl because this is the first time that I saw her face closely. I am mesmerize by her beauty then the guy repeat his words and I look at him telling that I am good that I just need to wash my face and put some bondage but the girl holds me on my wrist and dragged me to where they lead me, the guy took his phone and called someone order to pick up us on the park. I'm still not moving and looking at the hand of the girl who is still holding my wrist. I'm enjoying this I said to myself while smirking. I look to the guy and it seems that there is no sign of jealousness to his face. I wonder why? Is he really love this girl or is it a one sided love?

Minutes have passed then suddenly a white Mercedes Benz stops in front of us. The driver went down and open the door for us. The guy sits in the passenger seat while we are at the backseat of the car. "Thank goodness the bleeding stops but still its good for us to know the result of the test. I hope that there is no broken bone or something. " the girl uttered and you can see the concern on her face. I smiled and said "I told you it was nothing." "Mina! I'm Myoui Mina and that's my big brother Kai." she said and they extend their hands to me. "I'm Chaeyoung. Son Chaeyoung." I smile widely knowing the truth that it is just his brother. My heart is jumping and I can't even hide the happiness in my heart even if I looked like an idiot with a blood stained on my face.

When we reached the hospital, the guard bow down to us. The nurses immediately go to our direction and put some first aid kit to me. A doctor came in and I was being treated then I remember that I don't have enough money to pay the bills to the hospital. The doctor told me that he needs to stich the wounds to stop the bleading and to avoid infection. I told him that I am good and there is to need to worry, though at the back of my mind I don't have money to pay the bills. The doctor smiled at me, perhaps he reads what is going through my mind. He said that I don't need to worry for the bills since he needs to repay me for saving his children. I smiled and thank him. So that's it, they are the owner of this hospital. So fortunate kids. After I got treated they offered me to have dinner with them since they are also hungry and haven't eating anything since lunch.

I wanted to decline their offer but Mina is insisting. She holds my wrist and dragged me into the car. Gosh! This is the best day of my life. I can peacefully die after this. I said to myself.

We enter a fancy restaurant and a woman wave her hand to us. Mina runs to her and give her hugs and kisses. Oh so it is her Mom. Her mom came to me and bow her head and thank me for what I've done saving her children from those badass. Then, we eat together and asking me some questions about me. I found out that Mina's father knew my sister since they are both doctors and they worked together before. But my sister choose to work as a voluntary doctor who visits secluded places here in Thailand to treat and to check up those who are in needs. I also told them that we was originally leave in Korea before, but moved to Thailand when I was five years old because of our parents business. Then accident happens so it's just me and my sister now. We are enjoying the dinner sharing stories with each other since we have in common.

In just one day I met her and her family, and most of all know her name.
