The Path of Revenge: A Reborn Anti-Hero

Born into a noble family and endowed with tremendous power, exceptional talent, and unparalleled physical attractiveness, one might assume these qualities to be blessings. However, are they truly advantageous or rather a curse? Allen Frey, a young man destined to inherit the illustrious lineage of Duke Frey in the Kingdom of Eldoria, finds himself entangled in this very predicament. Given his extraordinary social standing and the multitude of advantages at his disposal, it seems inevitable that Allen will lead a prosperous life and ascend to greatness in due course. What if this perceived fortune is merely an intricate facade, perpetually deceiving him at every twist and turn? What if it's all an elaborate lie? A hero summoned from another world with the mission to vanquish the Demon Emperor ultimately becomes the perpetrator, stripping Allen of everything he holds dear—his fiancée, sister, power, strength, and all that he possessed. Does this constitute fate? Even the figure known as the "Hero" ultimately eradicated his very existence. Can this be considered justice? In the final moments of his life, he gazed upward at the serene sky, mustering every ounce of strength to reach out his trembling hand. "Oh, God! Are you truly so merciless as to shatter my life?" "Can... Can you grant me an opportunity to alter this cruel destiny?!" He cried out, his voice strained, tears streaming down his face, and gradually he closed his weary eyes. [Ding! Control and Julius' Concerns About the Summoning of Heroes

However, as he scrolled through the details, what he saw in the bottom column left him utterly surprised.

"I can learn it!" he exclaimed in shock.

He couldn't believe he had the option to learn it.

"Only a fool would press the [No] column!" Without hesitation, he pressed [Yes], and the panel disappeared instantly.

Suddenly, a swirling white light appeared before him, entering his head.

"Ugh!" Allen winced, gripping his head in pain.

After a few minutes, the discomfort eased, and he closed his eyes, trying to process the incredible and intricate information about the Ancient magic pattern.

"Incredible! It's truly amazing!" Allen opened his eyes, and brilliance sparkled in his red irises.

He was genuinely awestruck, feeling like he had just discovered an entirely new world!

"It truly lives up to its reputation as Ancient magic! This surpasses my understanding, even as a Wizard in my previous life!" He exclaimed with awe, his heart racing.

Gradually, he regained his composure and turned his gaze back to the mysterious door before him, a triumphant smile forming on his face.

"Sure enough, this magic pattern has some broken sequences." He shook his head, feeling a tinge of regret.

If his Ancient magic circuits were still intact and flawless, he could delve even deeper into their study.

However, unfortunately, these Ancient magic circuits were already extremely worn out and damaged.

Even though he had studied the Ancient magic set and could create the same Ancient magic, his level was still that of a True Mage, while the requirement to use and create this Ancient magic was that of a Great Wizard.

"But it's alright since I already know how to chant and pattern this set of magic; in the future, when I become a Great Wizard, I will have this extremely powerful Ancient magic as a backup!" Allen smiled faintly and decided not to dwell on the matter any further.

After all, a challenging future lay ahead, and his growth would be faster than in his previous life, thanks to his knowledge of the world's future path.

Moreover, he was aware of opportunities for heroes who had not been summoned, and he could seize those opportunities for himself.

"Hehehe! Don't blame me for being cruel to you seven." Allen chuckled inwardly, feeling no hint of guilt.

Without delay, he cleared his mind of all distractions and fixed his attention on the door before him in a casual manner.

He gradually dimmed the pearl of light in his hand and stowed it back into his bag.

Suddenly, the surroundings turned pitch dark, leaving no source of light.

Nonetheless, Allen paid no mind to the darkness.

He took a deep breath, focused his mind, and spread his hands before bringing them together.

"Ancient Magic: Absolute Seal!" He whispered the incantation, and instantly, the magic pattern on the door illuminated.

The dots of light slowly lit up one by one, forming a triangle with a circle in the center.

Allen concentrated, channeling the flow of mana within his body and mind to unlock the magic on the door.

"Whoooshh!" The dots of light magically connected, creating an interconnected line that illuminated the entire cave!

"Boom!"

The light intensified, growing brighter and brighter until it exploded with a resounding sound.

After closing his eyes, Allen gradually opened them again, taking a deep breath.

"It finally worked!" He exclaimed, his excitement evident. However, a sudden sense of weakness overcame him, nearly causing him to stumble.

"Ugh! Quite a shortage," he said, shaking his head and sighing lightly.

Without hesitation, he opened his bag, and ten mana-healing potions materialized.

He swiftly consumed all ten bottles, feeling his mana slowly replenishing at an accelerated rate.

Yet, despite the mana potions' effects, his mana didn't fully recover, as they were insufficient for his current level as a True Mage.

"What an astonishing consumption of mana!" Allen slowly stood up, unable to refrain from muttering to himself.

Considering his relatively weak level, it was quite impressive that he managed to connect and control the broken ancient magic on the door.

"At least, after opening the magic circuit on this door, I can learn more about this Ancient magic." A small smile formed on his lips, and Allen felt relieved.

Without delay, he observed the dormant magic circuit and the slightly ajar door.

"Well, it's time for me to explore inside and uncover the hidden secrets responsible for the water in this lake having a restorative effect similar to a low-level potion."

He proceeded with caution, gently pushing the door open, and peered inside, only for a look of disbelief to appear in his red eyes.

"This is..."

...

On the other side, in the main study of the Frey family mansion, Julius examined the document in his hand, his expression growing increasingly peculiar.

"The summoning of heroes?" Julius set the document down, reclining on the sofa, deep in thought.

"Have the seven great kingdoms truly decided to summon heroes once again?" He rested his hands on the chair's edge, propping his chin with his palms.

"Have they forgotten the disastrous consequences of the previous heroes summoning that nearly disrupted the world order?" Letting out a small sigh, he pondered.

"It appears that the Demon Emperor's growing strength has left them feeling greatly threatened, compelling them to summon the seven heroes once more..." Julius rubbed his forehead, displaying a clear sense of helplessness.

Rising from his chair, he took a deep breath and then made his way to the window.

Gazing up at the beautiful and peaceful night sky, his face betrayed a sense of unease.

"I hope the decision of the seven great kingdoms is not made recklessly, or we might witness a repetition of the events from thousands of years ago." He murmured to himself before eventually returning to his study, leaving the moonlight to gracefully illuminate the night sky.
